Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!

Director Su smiled. ”So, could you possibly draw up a tricycle blueprint for our factory?”

Director Geng shot him a look. ”Your factory doesn’t even have a blueprint for that? I seem to recall that the Southern Bicycle Factory already makes tricycles.”

”Don’t you know how busy our Group Leader Fu is? And you’re asking her to draw this? The nerve! Isn’t that a complete waste of her talent?”

Fu Mingxue: ?...

’Actually, I can do it.’

’After all, the bonus from the bicycle factory last time was pretty sweet.’

’I need this bonus. It’s a perfectly legitimate way to make money.’

Just as she was about to raise a tentative hand to say she could do it, Director Su spoke up first.

”The one from the Southern factory is no good; it definitely won’t be as good as a design from Mr. Fu. Mr. Fu, how about this: if you help us design a new model, our factory will give you a bonus, just like last time.”

Seeing that Director Geng was about to say something, he quickly added, ”One thousand for your factory, and one thousand for Group Leader Fu.”

Hearing this, Director Geng immediately swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue.

He couldn’t help it. A thousand was a pretty good sum.

This would also silence any critics at the factory.

After all, if his factory didn’t earn any revenue from it, Fu Mingxue’s work would be considered moonlighting—which, while it might be acceptable in the future, was definitely not allowed now.

The bicycle factory had done the same with the electric bicycle project, giving them a cut as well.

Most importantly, their factory happened to be the one producing the electric motors, so it was essentially creating new business and orders for them.

If their own factory got too busy, they could even subcontract to partner factories.

”So, Group Leader Fu, what do you think?”

Fu Mingxue: ...?

’What else was there to think? Obviously, I’m in it for the money.’

”I’ll make some time to work on the design.”

Director Su was overjoyed to hear this.

”Mr. Fu, thank you so much. Please, head to the workshop; you’ll find what you need there. I’ll have Xiao Zheng take you. Also, if you need any of our master craftsmen to help you with fabrication, just ask. Don’t hesitate.”

”Alright, thank you!”

”Don’t mention it. And we won’t be charging you this time. Consider it an advance gift from our factory.”

Fu Mingxue smiled.

She found this Director Su to be very interesting.

He had a perfect grasp of social dynamics.

”Director Geng, when you’re ready to head back, just go. You don’t need to wait for me.”

Director Su, once again a step ahead, said, ”Old Geng, you don’t need to wait. When Mr. Fu is ready to leave, I’ll arrange for someone to take her back safely.”

Director Geng: ...?

’This old fox is even smoother than I am.’

”Fine.”

Xiao Zheng led Fu Mingxue to the workshop.

She hadn’t drawn up a blueprint, but she was incredibly skilled with numbers, possessing both excellent mental math and memory.

She already had the dimensions memorized.

So, after gathering all the materials, she started cutting them herself—

Xiao Zheng, who was accompanying her, felt his heart leap into his throat as he watched her cut the materials.

’What if she cuts her hand? These machines are no joke.’

Finally, unable to watch any longer, he gently suggested, ”Mr. Fu, why don’t you let one of the master craftsmen handle that? You can just tell him the dimensions—”

’Good heavens,’ he thought. ’If I knew how to use this machine, I’d jump in and help myself.’

’This is too damn stressful.’

”No, thank you. I’m quite fast on my own,” Fu Mingxue said, refusing directly. ”No need to bother the craftsmen.”
