Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

”Creak——”

On the screen, there was a shot of a woman pushing open the worn-out courtyard door.

Her face showed little happiness as she looked at the yard, which didn’t seem much different from when she had left it.

The scene flashed by again—a young man carrying two boxes of books, turning to look at her: ”Sis, you’re finally back?”

The young man’s face was full of smiles, and even his eyes overflowed with the woman’s reflection, radiating an air of complete dependence.

The woman stood there, no one knew how long she lingered, before finally deciding to take a step forward. But unexpectedly, her body felt as if pulled by an invisible force, and her world plunged violently into a pitch-black sea.

Finally, the woman’s voiceover appeared in the video.

”I thought all of this was over.”

”But I was wrong.”

”A long life is actually a punishment for sinners—”The last sentence of the female voice was somewhat garbled, seemingly accompanied by another male voice repeating it. The scene, which had suddenly darkened, brightened again.

A girl dressed in shamanic poison tribal attire stood in the middle of the mountain forest, pointing with grand ambition: ”Next, our target is—”

”Whoa, I can’t do it anymore.”

A youth with blonde hair, strikingly similar to an idol, lay weakly on the ground.

”How much farther?”

A flicker of amusement flashed in the shaman girl’s eyes, followed by a sly grin: ”I know a shortcut, friend. You wanna take it?”

”Sure—Ahhhh—”

The youth had barely agreed before he was kicked straight off the cliff.

”Thud~~~~”

All that was left on the ground was a human-shaped crater.

The girl clasped her hands behind her back, humming a tune as she leaped over the pit.

The scene flashed again, and from then on, it was all about the main team’s daily antics and laughter—completely devoid of the earlier oppressive mood. Many of these were famous scenes from the ”Corner Also” comic. Although some of the live-action renditions came off as a bit mindless, the lead actors’ performances skillfully masked that, making it not awkward but rather heartwarming, leaving viewers with an involuntary smile by the end.

Not until the very end of the video did the scene return to where it started.

The female lead, Yin Lan, stood under the tree in the center of the yard, tilting her head slightly to look up at the sky, a glimmer of tears flashing in her eyes.

Footsteps approached from behind, but she didn’t turn around.

The next moment, the wind began to blow—

At this point in the scene, silence spoke louder than words. Only the figures of the Yin siblings standing under the tree remained, both facing the same direction, yet seemingly already split in two by the tree’s shadow.

The large characters ”Corner Also” slowly emerged, and finally, the background gradually faded, leaving only the name ”Corner Also” along with the crimson ”Season Two,” both appearing together.

【January 30th, Set Sail Again!】

After watching the trailer, the audience truly couldn’t stay calm.

【This season has so many sibling past stories and daily life—maybe we’ll even get to see them in ancient costumes. It looks pretty lighthearted and funny.】

【Hehe, I’m actually curious about what the siblings did back in ancient times. It seems like there’s even some foreign characters and Western-style clothes mixed in? They’ve really been to so many places over all these years of immortality.】

【But I feel like the core of comedy is tragedy. Why does this trailer give me an uneasy feeling?】

【On the surface, it’s all fun and games, but underneath, the stench of those tragic knives is so strong it can’t be suppressed, not even in the trailer.】

【If I remember correctly, this season should reveal the true identity of the mastermind behind the scenes, right? Sigh, it seems like the ”Corner Also” comic is about to end too. I don’t know what the final outcome will be, and I feel kind of empty inside.】

【To be honest, I’ve almost forgotten the plot of the first season. Ugh, I really hate these multi-season dramas. You watch the later ones and forget the earlier ones. Waiting all the time is no fun either. Might as well just go read the original comic.】

【Reading the original gives you heartburn too, because the original comic has been stuck at the grand finale for over a month! I’m starting to suspect Jiao Dai died at his desk! When is he going to finish those last few chapters? Us original comic fans are practically dying here!】

【I’ve decided to start rewatching ”Corner Also” Season One from today. By the time I finish Season One, Season Two will be airing. Nice, new happiness is on the horizon.】

【Great idea.】

【Well then, I’ll quietly renew my video membership. Who understands that last year I also opened a full-year membership just to watch ”Corner Also” Season One.】

【Wow! That reminds me—I opened my app and saw I never turned off auto-renewal. Great, they charged me for another year of membership. I’ve decided I’m going to watch ”Corner Also” every day to get my money’s worth.】

How many people secretly checked their subscription settings after seeing that comment is unknown, but soon enough, the official announcement of ”Corner Also” Season Two firmly claimed the top spot on the trending list. Even the snowy mountain rescue incident and the marketing for ”Journey Across Mountains and Rivers” had to step aside slightly.

This clearly showed the immense promotional power of ”Corner Also.”

Seeing this situation, Xiao He’s team proactively reposted, along with the rest of ”Corner Also”’s main creative team.

It was quite interesting. Back during the first season, Xiao He had a rather mediocre status. But now, in the blink of an eye, he had become a key promotional element for ”Corner Also.” Almost as soon as his name was mentioned, audiences of all ages flocked to check it out.

In contrast, the promotion for ”The Phantom Thief Alliance 2” was relatively low-key. Zhuang Hongyi’s side had only done some early teasing, without immediately releasing promotional trailers or marketing copy.

Clearly, both ”Corner Also 2” and ”The Phantom Thief Alliance 2” were part of the same family. Zhuang Hongyi wasn’t planning to have his own people fight each other. Instead, he deliberately let the news of ”Corner Also 2” suppress the hot searches of other Spring Festival films.

Don’t underestimate the power of a TV series’s popularity. Although TV series and movies, from a certain perspective, aren’t in the same competitive circle and their data comparisons and operational models differ significantly, their heat and their topics—they all exist within the same trending list!

So what was there to say?

”Corner Also 2” was in a rush to air—let it strike first! Later, when ”Corner Also 2” was airing and the actors’ topic value rose, they could ride on Xiao He’s coattails again to boost the heat for ”The Phantom Thief Alliance 2.” Wouldn’t that be perfect?

Zhuang Hongyi’s slick maneuvering even made Liu Rulan chuckle helplessly. She turned to look at Xiao He, who was preparing to go on stage for rehearsal, and said, ”Director Zhuang really lives up to his reputation as a businessman who’s made it this far. His ability to juggle things with his left hand while holding steady with his right is truly extraordinary. If he ever stops being a director, he could just be a cunning capitalist and live a very comfortable life.”

Xiao He, fixing his hairstyle, pursed his lips and said, ”You think he isn’t one already?”

First, drop the heat for ”Corner Also” Season Two, then link it to the heat for ”The Phantom Thief Alliance 2,” and finally, don’t forget to remind Yan Shaohan to release the grand finale of the ”Corner Also” comic next month, so it can wrap up together with the finale heat of ”Corner Also” Season Two... With this combo of moves, the entire winter break would be their playground.

”The Phantom Thief Alliance 1” had been a huge hit last Spring Festival, winning first place at the box office. And with this year’s setup, it seemed unstoppable as well.

”Teacher Xiao—”

A production assistant jogged over, calling Xiao He’s name, ”Are you ready here?”

Xiao He immediately ended his conversation with Liu Rulan, putting on his watch as he walked toward the production assistant: ”I’m good.”

”Alright, alright. Please follow me over for the entrance.”

The production assistant promptly led Xiao He forward.
