Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

This time when descending the mountain, Xiao He used skis.

Although skis are more suitable for beginners and easier to learn, advancing on skis is actually much harder than on a snowboard.

It’s just that in recent years, with the rise of short videos, more people think snowboarding is cooler and more attractive, so they prefer snowboards.

But to Xiao He, it was all the same as long as it let him fly across the snow at top speed.

Since he was already here, how could he not try every style and justify his pay?

So when Hu Pei walked in with the person in charge, they happened to see a young man leap down from high above like a swallow.

At that moment, Hu Pei thought his eyes were playing tricks on him, but when he focused again he realized Xiao He had already spun neatly in midair and landed steadily.

At the same time, excited cheers rose from around them.

The two of them turned and saw a crowd of resort staff gathered nearby, mostly women, with a few men whose eyes were shining.

They watched the scene in front of them with excitement, whispering and squealing sometimes, their faces flushed, looking ready to rush over and surround Xiao He at any moment. If the production team hadn’t warned and urged them in advance, they would have already pulled out their phones to film.

Because Xiao He was just too handsome, these staff, absorbed in the display of a master’s skills, didn’t even notice their own boss approaching with others.

The person in charge’s face darkened, while Hu Pei stared unblinkingly at Xiao He as he slowed and skied toward them, his heart pounding.

—Of course, he wouldn’t, like those staff who had already become fangirls and fanboys, be simply conquered by Xiao He’s superb skiing; instead, he was wildly calculating the potential surge in traffic.

When Xiao He drew closer, Hu Pei had already come up with a title for that episode.

Back when they hadn’t been able to invite Xiao He, they had regretted it for a long time. Having the youngest dual Best Actor as a regular on a variety show debut, combined with Xiao He’s current general goodwill and fanbase, meant the show’s heat would be worry-free. It might even break through to become the next national-level program.

Later, when he looked at Xiao He’s résumé, Hu Pei had to comfort himself that Xiao He’s claims might be exaggerated, jack-of-all-trades but master of none.

After all, Xiao He’s various athletic skills were all listed there; he was practically like a superhuman.

But seeing it in person now, Hu Pei’s heart bled.

Why!

Why didn’t they secure Xiao He in advance!

No—

They absolutely could not miss this now!

Hu Pei’s eyes hardened. Before the person in charge could step forward to introduce himself, Hu Pei shot past him like a streak of light and dashed right in front of Xiao He.

“Teacher Xiao, hello, hello—”

Xiao He’s vision blurred; he thought a fan had rushed over. The nearby crew members quickly grabbed Hu Pei’s clothes and scolded, “Who are you? Don’t just push in!”

Only then did Hu Pei realize he’d gotten carried away. He stopped and frantically looked for his press badge. “I’m not a fan. My name is Hu Pei. I’m the chief director of Journey Across Mountains and Rivers. May I ask when Teacher Xiao might have time? Or is Teacher Xiao’s team on site? We’d like to talk about collaborating.”

Pulling people from another shoot was indeed a bit much, but faced with traffic that might fly away at any moment, Hu Pei was willing to risk his face.

He even regretted not bringing the cameraman earlier—if he had, he could have had the show’s camera crew film that scene nonstop.

“Director Hu? I know you.”

Xiao He was also a bit surprised to meet the director of Journey Across Mountains and Rivers here, but out of politeness he removed his helmet and gloves and shook Hu Pei’s hand amicably.

“Your production team is here to film?”

“Yes, yes, what a coincidence, Teacher Xiao! What a special fate!”

Hu Pei gripped Xiao He’s hand with both of his and shook it happily, signaling the bond between them.

Xiao He caught the implication behind Director Hu’s words and smiled a little. “It is quite a coincidence. I’m shooting here, and your team just happens to be here too. This resort must be very popular.”

In fact, it was indeed a coincidence: Xiao He had been invited here to shoot cultural tourism promotion, and the show’s team had also come to ride the momentum from the upcoming sports event, so they rushed to Rong City. In summary, their goals were pretty much the same.

“How about this, Director Hu, my agent is at the hotel. I’ll call her and have her come up to talk with you. I’m still busy shooting right now, sorry.”

“No problem, no problem, we’re not in a hurry.”

Hu Pei immediately nodded with a smile. “We have a lot of familiar faces on the show today. When there’s time I’ll have them stop by and say hello.”

“No need, I’ll get back to work first.”

“All right.”

So Hu Pei watched Xiao He ski over toward the production staff.

He immediately pulled out his phone to notify the crew below: “Hey, quickly change the following schedule. Move the morning skiing to the afternoon, bring up the previous plan B—”

Because Hu Pei hadn’t gone far, the resort person in charge overheard and twitched at the corner of his mouth.

Wait, weren’t you rushing to go on site just now?

Weren’t you saying the crew was urgent and the artists had already reached the foot of the mountain?

Hmm? What’s going on now?

How did it suddenly change?!

But before the person in charge could regain his composure, he heard enthusiastic, restrained cheers coming from nearby.

He turned and saw it was because Xiao He had skied past there.

Yes, he had merely skied! Past!

And what greeted Xiao He was the enthusiastic cheering of their resort staff.

Person in charge: ...Fine, fine, do you all not respect me as the person in charge?

His anger rising, the person in charge moved right up to that group—

“Teacher Xiao! Could you sign for me first? My daughter really likes you—”

Xiao He: ?

Where did that voice come from.

...

At the hotel, Liu Rulan was originally enjoying a rare vacation.

After receiving Xiao Chen’s call, she paused for a moment.

“When did Journey Across Mountains and Rivers arrive in Rong City?”

“I think it was yesterday evening.”

Liu Rulan pressed a hand to her forehead.

It was hard to believe Xiao He would have such an opportunity.

To be in the same place on the same day!

Had it been one day earlier or later, they would have missed each other and there would have been no invitation from the show.

Liu Rulan sighed and, obediently, left the room to personally go meet Director Hu.

When Journey Across Mountains and Rivers had first sent an invitation, Liu Rulan had been astonished by how lavish their offers were. Now the production team had come knocking again with money; how could she refuse?

Besides, this invitation was special, different from a flying guest. Xiao He would both appear and contribute; skiing is a dangerous sport, and he would likely act as a cultural tourism promotion ambassador on the show to help promote Rong City’s sports event, so all things considered...

Liu Rulan had a clear sense of the benefits, and a smile she couldn’t control lifted across her face.

It’s a profit, a profit!
