Danmachi: The Focalors Familia Starting from the Dungeon

”Found it! Right here!”

Misha pointed excitedly at the corner of the parchment.

Eina hurriedly leaned in, their eyes simultaneously landing on the section labeled: [Focalors Familia].

[Aiden — Flamescion]

”Ohhhh! [Flamescion]! That is so badass!” Misha excitedly blurted out first. ”It’s a little edgy, but it sounds way stronger than something like [Dark Flame Master]!”

The moment Eina saw the title, she let out a massive sigh of relief. The heavy weight in her chest finally vanished.

Thank goodness. It’s nothing ridiculous.

She continued reading down the list.

[Robin — Saint of Battle Rhythm]

”Wow, this one is amazing too,” Misha gasped. ”[Saint of Battle Rhythm]… It sounds just as incredible as Miss Airmid’s [Battlefield Saint].”

Eina nodded. The title did exude a sense of both elegance and overwhelming power.

[Tifa — Starlight]

[Hyacine — Physician of Fluctuating Light]

”[Starlight]… Does it mean she shines like a star when she fights? How romantic.”

”[Physician of Fluctuating Light] is so poetic too,” Misha praised, reading each name with genuine awe.

”Thank goodness…” Eina let out a long breath, a heartfelt smile blossoming on her face. ”Thank goodness. Everyone got wonderful aliases.”

A wave of unprecedented pride washed over her. The adventurers she managed hadn’t just grown at a terrifying pace; they had now received titles recognized by the gods, titles that perfectly matched their brilliance.

The chaotic uproar echoing through the Guild office felt like background cheers celebrating their success.

.....

”This level-up speed… Are you serious? This has to be a joke, right?!”

When the adventurers gathered in front of the notice board at the Guild Headquarters to view the freshly posted level-up list, the entire hall erupted in shock.

”Lv.1 to Lv.3 in two months?! Are you kidding me?! That’s faster than riding a wyvern!”

”Forget Lv.3, even hitting Lv.2 in that time is completely absurd!”

”I thought the Sword Princess held the record for the fastest level-up in Orario! And that still took her a year!”

”Yeah, and that record shocked all of Orario back then—no, it shocked the entire world!”

At first, the noise was purely disbelief. But as people scanned further down the board and saw the highlighted rare skill, the uproar instantly turned into collective gasps of horror.

”[Tonal Resonance]… A party-wide experience buff?! So that’s why!”

”Saint of Battle Rhythm… Holy shit, isn’t that skill basically cheating?!”

”Aaaaah! I want to power-level too! Is the Focalors Familia still recruiting?! I’ll even join as a supporter!”

”Let me party with you! Please, boss, carry me! I don’t even want any loot, just let me tag along in the back and soak up the EXP!”

”Saint of Battle Rhythm… How does a broken skill like that even exist?”

The adventurers chattered feverishly. The explosive news grew wings, spreading through every street and alley of Orario faster than the wind itself.

.....

Meanwhile, in the Eighth District — Twilight Manor.

”Hey, hey, hey. You’ve gotta be shitting me. That brat… hit Lv.3?!”

Bete Loga stared at the Guild newspaper in his hands. His trademark fierce scowl was entirely replaced by a look of utter, unadulterated disbelief.

”What, what?! The Flame-boy leveled up to Lv.3?! For real?!”

”Waaah! It’s actually true! That’s amazing! He broke Ais-chan’s record! So cool!” Tiona snatched the paper, jumping up and down in excitement, while her sister Tione stood beside her, covering her mouth in equal shock.

”What kind of cheat skill is this? A group EXP buff? That’s way too ridiculous!” Anakitty’s eyes were wide as saucers, feeling as if her entire worldview had just been shattered.

”I… I’m not jealous at all. Really. Not jealous at all…” Raul Nord—the ultimate average Joe with no skills or magic—squatted in the corner, drawing circles on the floor as bitter tears streamed down his face.

”I knew it… Aiden really did hit Lv.3,” Lefiya whispered, covering her mouth. ”Is it because of Miss Robin’s skill? To think something like that exists… I never even imagined it…”

Ais silently stared at the column detailing Aiden’s level and the terrifyingly short time it took Robin’s group to level up. Finally, her gaze landed on the crucial skill description. She pursed her lips, a complex array of emotions flashing through her golden eyes.

”To actually reveal the skill… It seems Goddess Focalors was put under an immense amount of pressure during the Denatus,” Riveria commented with a heavy sigh after a long silence.

”It couldn’t be helped,” Captain Finn Deimne replied. He sat with his chin resting on his hands, his face showing no surprise—only a knowing smile.

”An entire group leveling up at warp speed in such a short time is impossible to hide. Rather than passively enduring the suspicion and probing of every faction in the city, it’s much smarter to lay their cards on the table. Pushing the ’Saint of Battle Rhythm’ into the spotlight was the wisest move.”

”Finn,” Gareth stroked his thick dwarven beard, asking the most critical question. ”That skill… Do you think it works on adventurers outside of their Familia?”

”I’m certain of it.”

A sharp glint flashed in Finn’s eyes. He habitually bit his thumb, his voice low. ”As long as you form a party and fight together, you can benefit from the buff. It seems we need to build a good relationship with the Focalors Familia. For our next expedition, I’d like to propose a joint operation with them.”

As the captain of the city’s largest faction, he understood better than anyone the monumental strategic value of Robin’s existence.

”Saint of Battle Rhythm, huh…” Finn’s gaze seemed to pierce through the newspaper, envisioning the future. ”After today, her name will echo across the entire world. She might even become more famous than her own captain who took down the Apollo Familia.”

Riveria and Gareth exchanged a look, both seeing the heavy acknowledgment in each other’s eyes.

It was true. What adventurer could possibly refuse the chance to fight alongside the ”Saint of Battle Rhythm”?

The power dynamics of Orario were quietly being rewritten, starting today.

.....

”Daphne… can we… can we really join the Focalors Familia?”

On the way to the Seventh District, Cassandra clung tightly to Daphne’s arm, her voice weak and full of anxiety.

”I don’t know.”

Daphne’s tone sounded calm, but her tightly clenched fists betrayed her nerves. ”It’d be great if we could. After all, the ability of that ’Saint of Battle Rhythm’ is just too tempting to pass up.”

She had no way of knowing if the Focalors Familia would accept them. But the Denatus had concluded, and today was the day Aiden had promised to give them his answer.

Cassandra’s eyes flickered with hope. Just like Daphne, she had never felt any real loyalty to the Apollo Familia. Because of that, she felt no hatred toward the Focalors Familia for defeating them and forcing their disbandment. If anything, she felt a trace of gratitude.

After all, they had been forced to join Apollo through underhanded means in the first place.

Following the disbandment, numerous Familias had extended olive branches to them due to their status as high-level adventurers, but none felt right.

The current Focalors Familia was undeniably the optimal choice.

Since the Denatus ended, with Aiden’s group collectively leveling up, getting their aliases, and—most importantly—Robin’s game-breaking rare skill going public, the Focalors Familia had instantly become the hottest commodity in Orario.

Overnight, they plummeted into the number one spot on the city’s ”Most Desired Familia to Join” rankings, temporarily dethroning even the traditional titans like the Loki and Freya Familias.

Robin herself had skyrocketed up the ”Most Popular Female Adventurer” leaderboard like a rocket. She easily bypassed the ”Sword Princess” and the ”Thousand Elf.” The only two women remaining above her were the ones who had dominated the charts for years: Riveria, the ”Nine Hell”, and Airmid, the ”Battlefield Saint.”

And that couldn’t be helped. Riveria was the Elven Royalty; every elf in the city would vote for her unconditionally. Airmid was the city’s greatest healer, having pulled countless adventurers back from the brink of death.

Only those two could currently suppress the meteoric rise of the Saint of Battle Rhythm.

With the Denatus over, Robin no longer needed to wear makeup to seal away her stunning looks. Combined with a skill that accelerated an adventurer’s growth, her popularity was surging vertically.
