Beastmaster of the Ages

Suishen Yao couldn’t stand it anymore when the soulblend formation was shrunk to its limits. Her flaregod starsouls had the complete lower hand against Tianming’s decapath era godswords.

The tips of the swords pushed against each other to the point that the flaregod starsouls shattered into countless pink crystal shards and tightly fused to the surface of the decapath era godswords before assimilating into them, causing them to glow even more brilliantly.

Suishen Yao’s totems weren’t nearly as stable as Eminent Jiguang’s, but she did have a lot of simulacra. More importantly, the fact that they were sword totems made them even more suited to fusion with Tianming’s. After fusing, he immediately understood through their intermingled terrae that Suishen Yao would benefit him just as much as Eminent Jiguang had.

The moment the totems fused, Suishen Yao couldn’t help but moan. Her face flushed red as she had the slightest taste of what her aunt had to experience for an entire month. Her aunt even closed the soulblend formation tighter to play matchmaker.

I see... so this is what Auntie felt for the whole month.... Suishen Yao was initially rather mad. However, the curious elation she felt from the bonding of their totems immediately caused her to adopt a euphoric mental state.

His totems! The contact of their souls caused her to ignore the discomfort her body felt and follow the advice her aunt had given her. She stretched out her arms to hug him as the twenty totems fused into ten, circling around them. The two of them remained in a dreamlike state, not moving in the slightest.

This time around, Tianming’s evil impulses flared up even more fiercely than before. Even though Suishen Yao’s figure wasn’t as developed as her aunt’s, her outfit was far too thin, leading to yet another bizarre cultivation session.

Four months passed in a flash.

Eminent Jiguang came to the soulblend formation. ”Yaoyao should be tired by now. Four months is quite a long time, so I suppose I should let them rest.” Since the two youths had managed to blend their totems together four months ago, she no longer had anything to do. However, she still had to at least stay near them as the operator of the formation. She had spent that time analyzing the benefits of her totemic bonding session with Tianming.

”That kid has ten bane-rings. Apart from those of House Suishen, he should be one of the most suitable people to use the soulblend formation for cultivation. Over these years, I was stuck in a bottleneck because I didn’t have a husband and kept getting scolded by the old folks. However, if I can fuse with that kind more, maybe I’ll be able to grow without relying on a husband. I can get old guys like Ranxing and the others to shut up. I can’t afford to let that kid go. I need him more than Yaoyao does.”

She would never allow any other man from House Suishen to cultivate with her using the soulblend formation. It was pointless, anyway, since they could just use Suishen Blood. But nobody outside the house was a decabane, save for Tianming.

”Yaoyao needs him even more or else she’ll get married off. But once things are settled with her, I’ll be able to use that doll.” Given how much Eminent Jiguang had benefited from it, she would even stoop to ’borrowing’ Tianming from Suishen Yao.

”However, we have to remind that kid to not tell Little Zhao anything about our sessions, lest Yaoyao’s reputation and mine be ruined. Things will be troublesome if people misunderstand what’s going on.”

As she pondered that, she sent the two a signal through the soulblend formation. After four months of training, the fused decapath era godswords glowed differently from before. When the soulblend formation expanded, Suishen Yao opened her eyes and extracted her totems from Tianming’s. Even though she seemed rather worn out, her totems were glowing with even more power than before as they returned to the bane-rings between her eyes.

Tianming’s totems had also grown over the four months of bonding, almost twice as much as the month-long session with Eminent Jiguang. That was because of her much higher cultivation level. Even though Suishen Yao’s totems were more similar to his, Eminent Jiguang had still been able to bring forth twice as much of the potential within the decapath era godswords.

When Suishen Yao’s vital origin flaregod starsoul and her other nine totems returned to her bane-rings, she felt rather dazed and lightheaded. If it weren’t for holding Tianming’s arm tight, she would have slumped to the ground. He, on the other hand, was more vigorous than ever after the session.

”Are you okay?” he asked.

”Just, go....” She pushed him away in a daze and finally saw Eminent Jiguang when she slowly gained alertness. She slumped into her aunt’s embrace and groaned, ”Auntie, take me away from here....”

Eminent Jiguang’s heart skipped a beat when she saw the tears in the corner of her niece’s eyes. She turned to Tianming and said, ”Stay here and sort out your gains for now. I still need to brief you on something.”

”Alright,” Tianming said with a nod.

Eminent Jiguang took Suishen Yao out of the formation and headed to the depths of the Jiguang Sea. Then she asked, ”Darling, why’re you crying?”

”Auntie, is my Suishen Blood still there?”

”Of course, silly! You two didn’t do anything like that!” Eminent Jiguang teared up with laughter when she heard her niece catastrophize it.

”But... those four months.... I felt like I was on fire.... Even though my seventh astral organ is already in its astral form, why does it still feel so weird? I’ve never felt a sensation like this....” Suishen Yao seemed pretty speechless.

”Perhaps it’s also the way of the heavens to get astral gods like us to proliferate! How would we do that without some mortal drive within us?”

”You’re impressive to be able to endure for two thousand years....”

”You stupid lass, how dare you snap at me while I’m trying to console you?”

”I’m not! I sincerely meant what I said!” Suishen Yao took a deep breath and sighed with relief that she hadn’t lost her Suishen Blood.

”By the way, how’d it go?” Eminent Jiguang asked.

”Good! So good! I’ll try it out right now. If it isn’t enough, another four-month session should do it,” Suishen Yao confidently said.

”Oh, you’re so confident in him now, are you?”

”Weren’t you the same? You aren’t any better off,” Suishen Yao scoffed.
