Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 3171 - I Can’t Watch My Comrade get Beaten Up

There weren’t enough Yin Chens spread out through Myriadpath Valley, so by the time Tianming and Suishen Zhao turned back, they could already see the two who were approaching. However, they didn’t panic. Tianming hadn’t offended Yumo Yuanni. As for Huang Daosheng, he couldn’t keep up with Tianming. And Suishen Zhao himself didn’t have a lower status than Yumo Yuanni, either.

”What’re they trying to do?” Tianming asked.

”They’re probably angry because we keep applying pressure on them,” Suishen Zhao sneered. Compared to Tianming, he treated Yumo Yuanni as a stronger rival. However, Yumo Yuanni was almost twice his age, so there was no real way to fight him. It would take a few hundred years for the gap between the two to close enough for them to compete.

Huang Daosheng and Yumo Yuanni were right before them. Suishen Zhao took a step forward, staring through the cloudy fog at the other minor pathkeeper. One of them had long red hair that fluttered like raging flames, while the other was surrounded by a black mist like a fiend from hell.

”Why’d you follow us? Are you a stray dog?” Suishen Zhao asked, smirking.

Yumo Yuanni’s pent-up anger burst out when he heard the outrageous words. Without another word, he attacked in his specter form!

Tianming had learned a bit about the auras of skyghouls. Yumo Yuanni was a hellfiend skyghoul, the rarest kind after sacredfiend skyghouls. Strictly speaking, sacredfiend skyghouls were a type of hellfiend skyghoul, but had the highest bloodline among them all. As such, Yumo Yuanni reminded Tianming of Zi Zhen.

Unlike Huang Daosheng’s fiend bloodline, which was mixed with that of a lion, Yumo Yuanni was a pure fiend of hell, the strongest kind of specter in the astralscape of order, boasting immense ferocity and power. Even if he couldn’t use the skyghoul transformation, and despite his young age, the sudden burst of power was fierce all the same!

”How fast!” Suishen Zhao saw Yumo Yuanni appear before him in the blink of an eye! It was in part due to their difference in cultivation level. Yumo Yuanni’s cosmoforce surged and turned into energy for him to use his abilities.

Two gigantic black spheres instantly formed in his palms. Within the spheres were ghostly howling wolves and countless wraiths! When the two spheres smashed on the ground, they turned into black streams that filled the sky and shot toward Suishen Zhao in an instant, locking on to him and forcing the nearby Tianming to back off.

With a whoosh, Yumo Yuanni turned into a shadow. Right as Suishen Zhao manifested his totems, the specter used a brute-force attack to push the totems away and approach Suishen Zhao. With a single powerful punch, Suishen Zhao’s totem ki scattered, causing him to be sent flying as blood trailed out of his mouth!

”Suishen Zhao, you’re pathetic! I don’t know how someone like you dares to claim to be the representative of the totemancers of the astralscape. You’re useless! So what if you break through fast and have better comprehension? You’re still a pushover!”

Suishen Zhao managed to get back up on his feet, but Yumo Yuanni was upon him once more. He kicked him in the chest and slammed him into the ground, stomping him flat. Suishen Zhao’s chest caved into a blood hole. The injuries themselves weren’t a big deal, but the humiliation of being stomped flat on the ground by Yumo Yuanni was.

Seeing Suishen Zhao’s totems just about to blaze out of the bane-rings on his forehead, Yumo Yuanni crushed his head with a single punch! He kept going without stopping. ”Pathetic totemancer trash! You’ve brought so much shame to House Suishen! A piece of trash like you can only keep smelling my farts from behind! As long as I’m around, you’ll never emerge on top!”

Even Huang Daosheng was shocked at the sight. They were destined to be enemies. If Yumo Yuanni had dominated Suishen Zhao like this since his childhood, there would be a lot of mental trauma left behind. Huang Daosheng didn’t dare to interfere in a spat between minor pathkeepers, and Suishen Zhao wouldn’t tell his seniors about a humiliating defeat like this, either.

They’re still young. They wouldn’t dare to do something like this if they were both older, Huang Daosheng thought. Youths were always bolder and itching for a fight.

Fortunately, Yumo Yuanni didn’t go too far. All he did was rely on his physical superiority as a specter and beat up Suishen Zhao like he would in a street fight. It would leave no permanent injury, but severely humiliate Suishen Zhao.

He pinned Suishen Zhao down with one hand and raised the other to harshly slap him on the face, scattering his flames of rage. It was a completely brutal brawl.

Suishen Zhao knew that this specter that used to only be a level above him was now two levels above him. There was no way for him to fight back, especially with an ambush at the start. He was seething with rage from being so helpless. The slap only made the humiliation worse!

”I’m beating you up. What can you do about it? From now on, I’ll beat you up every time I see you. Unhappy? You can’t move, anyway. How dare you mock me on the Prehistoric Path! I’ll make sure to beat you up until you can no longer raise your head.”

Yumo Yuanni smiled in a twisted manner as the slaps kept raining down on Suishen Zhao’s face, completely shattering his pride and dignity. His limelight had been completely stolen by Suishen Zhao, even though he had gone through all that trouble in the Xenoabyss for that order fragment.

As he continued his savage abuse, a figure suddenly appeared before him. Eight dragons of mountains and seas circled around the figure, forming an ability shield. A loud soundwave swept past Yumo Yuanni and Suishen Zhao at the same instant, shattering both of their eardrums! After Lan Huang used both its abilities, Tianming used Azure Dragon Descent!

”Huh?!” Yumo Yuanni pulled his hands back to use a battle art. The Eightruin Dragonshields exploded right as Tianming’s foot swept toward Yumo Yuanni. With a loud boom, the specter’s tough body was sent flying before he landed on the ground and rolled like a ragdoll. His arms were completely broken and shattered, and even his body was shaking. He only came to a stop after quite a while of rolling.

”Who?!” Yumo Yuanni’s eyes were completely bloodshot. He looked up and saw a white-haired youth holding up Suishen Zhao.

The youth glared at him and said, ”You’ve had an extra eight decades to train, yet you’re only two levels higher! Is that all you’re bringing to humiliate totemancy as a whole? How pathetic!”

Tianming’s attack had broken both of Yumo Yuanni’s arms. They could easily be reconnected and healed, but that wasn’t the point. Suishen Zhao had never expected that he would be saved by an outsider amidst a spat between the Three Exalted Houses.

”Li Tianming!” Suishen Zhao gripped his arm pretty hard with a burning look in his eyes. He had never been so humiliated in his life. This was the first time Yumo Yuanni and he had actually fought each other and there was nothing he could do but endure all that suffering, and Yumo Yuanni didn’t seem intent on stopping at all. He would have gone on for as long as the seniors didn’t come!

That kind of humiliation was too hard to endure. He didn’t know how long Yumo Yuanni’s age and specter advantage would allow him to continue ravaging him. That was why he hadn’t expected his assailant to be sent flying with arms broken in a single instant. He’d thought that his elder sister had come, only to be shocked to see that it was Tianming who had helped him!

He had always thought that due to their status difference, Tianming would only be a temporary rival he could aspire to and eventually overcome. People kept saying that his potential was limited, and he thought so as well. There shouldn’t be anyone else in the astralscape who could compete with the Three Exalted Houses. As such, he’d never treated Tianming as someone in his world, despite his cordiality, but that had changed at the Prehistoric Path!

Tianming had taken only thirty breaths of time to make it through the first idol, and even broke through. His comprehension abilities were on full display. Not to mention, he had performed so well that Suishen Zhao might even come to envy him.

Yet when he was at his lowest and feeling humiliated and angry, Tianming was the one who had pulled him out of the depths. It completely changed how he saw him. The strength with which he held Tianming’s arm showed how much he couldn’t believe his eyes at the white-haired youth’s actions.

”He’s a minor pathkeeper of House Yumo. Now that you’ve touched him, he won’t stop until he kills you! They’re one of the Three Exalted Houses!” Suishen Zhao whispered.

Tianming smiled. ”I know, but I can’t watch my comrade get beaten up and do nothing.”

”But you’ll die!”
