Beastmaster of the Ages

What Tianming didn’t expect was that Lan Huang would be the first one to finish evolving. Usually, it was the most unassuming among its siblings... unless it came to Wu You. Within Tianming’s lifebound space, boundless mountain and sea energy surrounded it, forming a world-like egg. Thanks to the growing size of his beasts, Xian Xian, Lan Huang, Yin Chen and Ji Ji in particular, Tianming’s lifebound space had also expanded so much that it was practically borderless at this point.

A deep roar came rumbling from within the world egg as it cracked open. Two dragon heads, one brown and one blue, emerged from the cloud layer. They were so big that Tianming could easily count the stars within their eyes; there were around nine hundred and ten thousand stars, forming ninety-one star clusters in total. ”This is the peak star count of the Infinitum Mundus!”

Once more, Tianming had achieved the very peak, this time in terms of lifebound beasts. Having started off from a star count of one, he knew more than anyone how turbulent his journey had been. He had started all the way back on the Flameyellow Continent, then to the Sun, and eventually the Infinitum Mundus.

”Lan Huang might well be the biggest lifebound beast in the entire Infinitum Mundus. Maybe it’s on par with the strongest nova wildbeasts in Ebonia! Once more, its size far surpasses that of its big sister Wu You.”

Lan Huang wanted out of the lifebound space. Tianming looked around the space in the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb and deemed it was still capable of housing its gigantic body. Even without intentionally increasing its size, Lan Huang’s body was still big enough to span half a heliacal-class world. ”Alright, come out.”

”Boss, are you bothered about my size?” Lan Huang said, its voice rumbling loudly with the sound of storms.

”It’s still alright!” Tianming said, looking at its astralship-sized seventh astral organ.

”I can also shrink!” Lan Huang said.

”Shrink? How?”

”Just watch,” Lan Huang mysteriously said as it wiggled its body.

”Fine.” Right as Tianming nodded, he witnessed a miraculous sight. Lan Huang’s massive body actually shrank to a degree that far exceeded his expectations. It ended up being only five meters long. Not counting its heads and tail, it was only around three meters. It looked far smaller than when it had first hatched! ”What the fuck....”

He was almost rendered speechless. He touched Lan Huang and found that it was real. In fact, the star count in its eyes remained the same, though now one would have to get a really close look to see the actual number.

”Boss, even though I’m smaller, I’m more powerful. Do you want to give it a try?” it asked.

”You have the most astrons out of all of you. If your mass didn’t change after shrinking, doesn’t that mean that your density rose by tens of thousands of times?” It worked the same way as Ying Huo’s compression, but on a completely different scale.

As for Meow Meow, it was like Zi Zhen in that its astron count rose along with its density. As for its Regal Chaosfiend transformation, that was a method to increase its combat power by incorporating the power of lightning to expand its body.

Specters worked the same way. Those that lived in the Xenoabyss were normally a thousand meters tall, but they could also compress their size. However, that might not come with combat benefits, as it wasn’t the size they were accustomed to. In other words, it was possible for normal specters to control the density of their astrons, while Ying Huo could already do it from the very start.

As for beastmasters, totemancers, wondermancers, and other humans like primalwingers, that wasn’t something they were capable of, not even the likes of Xiaodao. The reason for that was their low astron count, as well as the lack of an innate racial ability to do so.

Lan Huang’s compression was different from normal specters’, however. Its compression drastically increased both its density and combat capabilities. Given that it was more of a melee fighter to begin with, its current state could rival Zi Zhen’s, even though it was a ninth-astral orderan while she was a sixth-level cosmic cartographer. In other words, the control Lan Huang had over its astrons had significantly grown.

”I’ll be able to help fight puny enemies from now on! I can even send you flying!” Lan Huang said, blinking excitedly.

”You? Send me flying?” Tianming smirked and hacked at Lan Huang’s shell with the Grand-Orient Sword. He found that the shell was much tougher after being compressed. Coupled with its increased agility, it was probably far more adaptable than the average specter.

”The albusbeasts of the Central Shuntian Clan can never grow in size, so they’re more similar to Meow Meow in that regard. However, Meow Meow can transform into a Regal Chaosfiend, but not them!” Primordial Chaos Beasts were far more varied in their tactics and had few weaknesses.

”Here I come!” Lan Huang actually sent Tianming flying after being looked down upon.

”Damn, I wonder how much more powerful it’ll be with Ji Ji and Omnisentient Will....” Lan Huang would no longer be ’dead weight’ and could fight on Tianming’s level from now on. While it had taken a while for it to get to a star count of nine hundred thousand, it was the second lifebound beast to be able to shift sizes after Ying Huo.

The second to finish evolving was Ji Ji, whose pink nova source seemed much more powerful than before. But apart from a change in size, it didn’t seem to have gained any new unique abilities.

Xian Xian finished after that. Surprisingly for Tianming, it had also gained the ability to shift sizes freely—like Lan Huang—without having to turn into its dryad form. As a consequence, some of its abilities were strengthened in that form, while others were weakened. Even then, it gave Tianming many more options in battle. As for Ying Huo and Meow Meow, they finished evolving at about the same time and the transformations they underwent were the most shocking of all.
