Beastmaster of the Ages

After passing through the sea of clouds, Tianming finally saw land. He arrived at the Xenoabyss and looked around. ”This isn’t where I left last time!”

In other words, the Moonfang Marker had remained dormant. The spot he was at before he left was a mountain range, where he had made sure to hide in the crevice between some boulders. However, he now found himself in an endless flat plain that stretched out beyond his field of vision.

”Is the capital of Antiquitas Mortis behind me, then?” He turned back and was stunned. The city was endless in the true sense of the word. He simply couldn’t see where its boundaries were. There was a huge black wall that stretched up to the skies, touching the clouds. It was so tall that one would think it would reach the sea of order above, at least millions of meters. To specters that were thousands of meters in height, the wall probably only looked like a few thousand meters to them. Not only that, it seemed to stretch in both directions without end. A wall of such caliber could only belong to the capital.

Tianming hurriedly took the Moonfang Marker out and set it to his current location. ”Looks like I managed to take years off my journey!”

Given the length of the interdimensional line, it would be impossible for him to enter the capital from the sky. Putting aside the presence of guards, flying all the way up there would take quite a bit of time as well. Thus, he had no choice but to look for a gate. With so many powerful elites around, he didn’t dare to take Meow Meow out. The Xenoabyss was fraught with extreme danger, after all.

He started to run. Eventually, he looked up in the sky and saw something that almost made him piss in fear. He didn’t see it earlier because of the angle, but now he could see part of a gigantic eye right underneath the sea of order. Despite the sheer size of the capital, the eye was so large that it entirely covered its sky, being at least the size of the Divine Moon Realm.

”Di Yi?!” He immediately shrank away in an attempt to hide himself. Beings like Di Yi and Huang Qi were likely on the level of the things that were hunting Li Muyang. He recalled seeing this purple eye in the xenomemory space back when he had tried to rescue Lingfeng from it. And that very same eye hovered above the capital, letting out purple mist constantly that shrouded the city in an air of intrigue.

”Yin Chen!” Tianming had brought quite a few of its bodies with him. He didn’t dare to be the least bit careless and prepared himself to escape at any moment while he sent Yin Chen to gather information and look for the entrance to the capital. Hopefully, he would learn something about that gigantic purple eye. He found a spot at the corner of the wall and hid there for an entire month. Eventually, Yin Chen found a path to the east that led to the gate.

”It took Yin Chen a month to locate the gate alone.... How big can this city be?” He began feeling some despair at the puny size of his human body. ”If I ever grow to be thousands of meters tall, I’ll be able to squash Huang Qi like a bug!”

”You and what weapon?” Ying Huo asked.

Soon, many Yin Chens infiltrated the city and began gathering information. It turned out that the capital was indeed a congregation of powerful elites. However, it was so huge that he estimated that it would take Yin Chen ten years to cover the entire area. It wouldn’t take nearly as long to do the same for the Sun, as Tianming could dump Yin Chens all over the place using his divine astralship.

While there were a lot of people in the capital, it was quite difficult for the bugs to listen in on conversations between giants thousands of meters tall. Five days later, Yin Chen finally got some news. People called the eye above them the eye of heaven. It was the target of worship for the cultivators in the Xenoabyss, as it was the very origin of the xeno source in Antiquitas Mortis!

All the xeno source used by the country came from the eye above. It never seemed to run out despite releasing xeno source all year round. The capital, being built under the eye, had the densest concentration of xeno source as a result. As such, one had to fight for the opportunity to stay there and cultivate. Even with a recommendation letter from Qi Huan, Tianming could only stay for three months, which was more like three days to cultivators on their level.

”That’s why so many elites flock to the capital. Cities like Commonsky are places that subpar cultivators would go to.” The advantage of smaller cities was that second-rate cultivators could be tyrants that didn’t have to bend the knee to anyone else. However, that privilege didn’t exist under the watchful eye of heaven.

”Yin Chen said that the reason the other nations in the Xenoabyss are at war with Antiquitas Mortis is because they want the eye of heaven for themselves. Apparently, it can be moved! Looks like one has to possess that eye to be able to found a nation in the Xenoabyss. The more of them one has, the more powerful that nation would be!”

They were incredibly important, and there was more than one of them. Tianming mustered his courage to give it a closer look, exposing himself a little more. ”It’s different from Di Yi’s after all. Di Yi looked like a living being that’s capable of rage and other emotions. The spiritual power from the gaze alone is terrifying enough. The eye of heaven might resemble Di Yi’s eye, but it seems like an object more than a lifeform, like nova source worlds.”

Since the eyes were different, Tianming no longer feared it. Yin Chen plotted his path and gathered enough information about the capital for him to be relieved enough to head in. He got Meow Meow out and rode toward the entrance. A few days later, he finally saw the gate for himself, which was tens of thousands of meters tall. It was called the East Imperial Gate, according to the huge plaque above it that was thirty thousand meters wide. Merely looking up at it took so much effort that Tianming’s neck hurt.
