Beastmaster of the Ages

At the moment their lives were on the line, the tens of thousands of orderan astral gods of the second branch mustered their courage and charged toward the Second Exterminatus Army.

”I won’t be able to escape anyway, so I might as well go tussle with them.”

”I will too!”

”Let my wife and child go! I’ll fight!”

More and more people got swept up in the move to sacrifice themselves for the cause. They weren’t statistics, but real, living people with their own unique features. However, all of them shared the same gaze, inspiring the others around them. Many normal gods even felt brave enough to join them. Above the hundreds of gigantic swords were many people watching so many members of the Swordgod Lin Clan leaving their ships to attack the Second Exterminatus Army so that others would have a chance to board. The other branches of the clan watched with agitation.

”Why should those of the second branch die while we wait?”

”Let me ask you all! Can we not defeat them?”

”It’s always run, run, run! I’ve had enough! How powerful are the ebons, anyway? Do they have more people than us? I know that, ideally, we’d lose fewer people, but if something goes wrong, we’ll lose much more! It really is a dilemma!”

”Please, don’t think that we’re cowards who are afraid of death! We’ve already left the Infinitum Swordsea, so there’s nothing left to fear!”

Lin Xiao watched as the thousands of elites of the second branch fought to buy time. Tens of thousands of them charged to the front in an attempt to use their bodies as shields for the others. As for the remaining nine hundred million people, they had no choice but to wait on the ships and watch. Every one of them felt quite frustrated at the feeling of fleeing with their tails behind their backs. Their combined rage spread like wildfire, resulting in angry cries all over. Apart from the second branch, Lin Changkong, Lin Chongyao, Lin Xiong, and Dongshen Zhuojun were all considering the same issue. There wasn’t any heated discussion about it, everyone seemed to have a terrifying urge to jump in.

”Even if all fifty million people manage to board and escape, Second Patriarch and our brothers in the second branch will all be killed!” Lin Chongyao said.

”I’ll kill anyone that lets Brother Tiger die!” Lin Xiong roared within his ship.

”What’re we waiting for? Let’s fight!” With Lin Xiao absent, the leader of the new generation, Lin Changkong, had the highest authority. The moment he said that, the original plan of the clan completely fell apart.

”The enemy only considered their astral god fighting forces. They’re desperate and have no other choice but to fight, not to mention they’re working together with the ancestral world creature. Third, and most importantly, they believe that the billion normal gods we have aren’t part of our fighting forces, but rather our burden! While all those people aren’t able to do much within the ships and will only slow them down, our enemy isn’t as resolute about paving a path with our blood! A billion normal gods is two thousand times the enemy in number, not to mention we have the same number of astral gods and ships as our enemies. As long as we cast away our fear and fight their ships, the Lin Clan will be able to teach them what true pain is!” Lin Changkong quickly surmised his thoughts and gave his speech. ”Only focusing on fleeing is not our way! It’s what would minimize our losses, but after all the dangers we’ve faced, we’ve finally found ourselves at the moment when we must risk our lives. Instead of being put on the back foot by our foes, we’d rather learn from the example of our fellow clan members on the Sun and exterminate our enemies! Let them learn to fear us down to their very bones! We’ll become their nightmare. Let’s see how they keep on pursuing us once we blast them to smithereens!”

If it weren’t for the appearance of the ancestral world creature, the Swordgod Lin Clan would have been able to take care of the Second Exterminatus Army with the Milky Way Sword Formation. But with the change in the status quo, they sensed that they were running out of time. Now was when courage was necessary!

”Let us not forget that we’re the most agile force in the astralscape because we’re able to infuse our swordbeasts into our swords! Not to mention, our cosmic artifacts rank among the highest of the Infinitum Regal Clans, making us the most adept at breaking through divine astralships! While a billion people seems like a lot, there’s more than enough space in the astralscape for us to maneuver with swiftness and agility. As long as we press our advantages, we’ll succeed!”

A billion gods roaming the stars wasn’t actually enough to take on five hundred thousand astral gods and a few hundred divine astralships. However, the Lin Clan also had hundreds of ships and the same number of astral gods on their side. The billion normal gods were merely extras. While others thought them to be burdens, they were unlike other normal gods. They could infuse swordbeasts into their swords, so they wouldn’t have billions of large beasts out there in the astralscape, making it much more convenient for them to mobilize.

”Let’s show them whether our normal gods are burdens or not!” Lin Changkong could feel that quite a lot of them were no longer able to hold it in. The victory on the Sun had filled them with hope and confidence. In their eyes, there was no way the ebons could win any longer! Not to mention, they had even used underhanded methods, forcing the second branch to stop the enemy forces with their own flesh. The shared rage of the Lin Clan spread like wildfire, guided by Lin Changkong.

He made a decision and announced, ”Here are your orders: the second branch has committed to risking their life. Thus, the council hall has decided that we will take a final stand against our enemy here! All ships, astral gods, and normal gods, join the battle! We have only one core objective: to stop running and fight the enemy until every last one of them is eliminated!”

He took a deep breath when he finished, then mustered the most fanatical voice he could and yelled, ”Back on the Sun, our compatriots turned the ebon forces to mush! As for us, we’ll make sure that we reach the Sun with full honors! We’ll show them that we also played our part, fighting heroically and fearlessly! Those ebons and other traitors will fall by our swords! Fellow brothers and sisters, once this battle is over, our descendants shall be the undisputed rulers of the Infinitum Mundus! May the descendants of our enemies shudder at the mention of the Swordgod Lin Clan!”
