Beastmaster of the Ages

”A tree lifebound beast? It’s nothing but food,” The hundred-odd Lu Xuans said in unison and looked at the Radix World Tree without any sign of respect. They excitedly flapped their branches and gave up on chasing Ying Huo and Meow Meow, charging at Xian Xian instead.

”Food calling someone else food? How cute. Do you think I’ll let you eat the flesh I ate so much to grow?!” Xian Xian’s mood turned sour right after hearing that. With Ji Ji’s support, a pink energy radiated from its body, covering its roots and sword-shaped leaves.

Perpetia’s influence could also be felt where they were fighting, slowing the speed of the mirror fragments, yet the battlefield was as chaotic as ever. Lu Xuan’s excitement was clearly visible from the expressions of his tree humanoids, who quickened their pace.

”Protect our little sister!” Ying Huo cried, surrounding Xian Xian with Lan Huang, Meow Meow, and a few hundred million Yin Chens. Abilities were unleashed in a quick succession of barrages, sending fire, lightning, and exploding eight-starred ladybugs all over the place. Lan Huang activated its Myriadstar Swordrings and Primordial Swords and ground away at the tree humanoids like a juicer.

Lu Xuan’s strength was adjusted to the eleventh astral phase, so he should have been someone Tianming put his whole focus on taking on. Yet he only sent his beasts to deal with him, making for quite a gripping battle. Countless spectators across the Skydome Mundus were on the edge of their seats.

The wave of undying tree humanoids were quickly pushed back by the barrage of abilities, though they were also able to regenerate incredibly fast. Even the ones that had been ground to a paste by Lan Huang could reform at a terrifying rate. Though Ying Huo and Meow Meow’s fire and lightning did quite a bit of damage, it wasn’t enough to completely kill them. Yin Chen, on the other hand, turned itself into many locusts and ate away at the plant matter, which was effective to an extent, but....

”Ewww gross! This tastes... really bad!” The locusts turned green and began vomiting before they could eat much of it. Yin Chen swarmed away from the tree humanoids and didn’t continue consuming them. ”This tastes... just like... nose gunk!”

”How do you know what nose gunk tastes like?” Xian Xian said, laughing.

”I never... ate any... but you... definitely have!”

”No I didn’t!”

”Xian Xian... doesn’t care... about chewing... and just... swallows everything!” Arguing with Yin Chen was agonizing in its own way. One had to wait ages to hear its rebuttal.

”What do you mean?” Xian Xian seemed confused.

”That means you eat the wildbeasts whole, their shit and all in one go,” Ying Huo explained.

”Ah!” Xian Xian began panicking. How could a fairy eat something so disgusting?

”Sis, I can be sure that these tree humanoids don’t have any nose gunk,” Lan Huang said when a bright idea popped up in its heads. Fortunately, they weren’t bickering in a real life-or-death fight.

Even so, it angered Xian Xian all the same. It felt so humiliated that it wanted to vent in one way or another, and the tree humanoids were the perfect targets. They were moving past the ability barrage and attempting to jump on Xian Xian.

”Xian Xian you fat lass, you grew so big eating nose gunk!” Ji Ji whispered while attached to Xian Xian.

The Radix World Tree felt fury like it never had before. ”Ji Ji you poopyhead!” That voice scared the other lifebound beasts. ”Waaaaah!”

As it broke out crying, countless Radiant Vines shot past Ying Huo and the rest toward the tree humanoids. It then used the abilities of its Evernight Rose, Fiendsong Mares, Ghoulface Fiendblossoms, Scarlet Lilies, and Demise Greenloti all together. Yet that wasn’t even the most terrifying part. The tree was surrounded by Radixsword Leaves and its black roots began spreading out toward the enemies like black dragons. Xian Xian concentrated all its firepower on the tree humanoids, wrapping its roots around them as the bombardment continued.

Ying Huo’s eyes flashed when it saw how well it went on. ”Xian Xian’s especially effective against them! Quick, help it!”

They gathered their firepower together. Even Yin Chen, who had been vomiting, formed large metallic centipedes that dove toward Lu Xuan’s many bodies.

”Do you think mere lifebound beasts are intelligent enough to take me on?” The tree humanoids nonchalantly looked at the black roots.

”Hmph, I’ll help you diet! No need to thank me!” The moment Xian Xian said that, the hundred tree humanoids let out eerily humanlike howls of agony as they struggled to tear the roots off them, but it was too late. The seemingly nondescript roots were the most terrifying part of Xian Xian. They sucked away at the life force of the tree humanoids, who began to wither and crack as if they were being dehydrated. While it wasn’t a fast process, Lu Xuan would definitely be done if it was allowed to continue. If they were in the real world, he would die for sure!

”Piaopiao, Miaomiao, save me!” the hundred tree humanoids cried. They didn’t fear being broken apart, as they could simply reform, but if they were digested by Xian Xian, it would be a different story.

The Weisheng sisters had been being kept busy fighting Feiling and Xiaoxiao. After having heard that Lu Xuan would be enough to take care of the lifebound beasts, they withdrew their divine wonders to focus them on the foes they were taking on. But it seemed like they had no choice but to divert part of their divine wonders to help Lu Xuan out instead. The mirror fragments rained down on the battlefield once more.

”Keep protecting Xian Xian!”

Yin Chen turned into galactic swordbugs and rose into the air, forming thick layers of protection above. It had two billion bodies in the fight and losing them in the wondersky realm didn’t mean anything at all, so it suicidally intercepted the divine wonders’ attacks!

Tianming got a clear view of the battlefield with a single glance. Xian Xian, being the Radix World Tree, had no problem taking on Lu Xuan as he had expected. As long as it was adequately protected, Lu Xuan wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. If the Weisheng sisters supported Lu Xuan with their divine wonders, the pressure on Xiaoxiao and Feiling would lighten. Every opponent aside from Fu Xun was being held back, allowing Tianming to get to him unobstructed.
