Beastmaster of the Ages

Tianming and the others didn’t know if their performances could be seen from the outside world, but Tianming leaned toward it being visible. That was his inference based on the minor reges mundi ranking changing. The rankings moving meant that the Infinitum Stele could still connect to them, which in turn meant that Ebonia could likely still see them.

“Stay with me!” Tianming told Dongshen Xiaoli. Everything within this room was like an open book for him.

“Stick with you? Cousin, you should be the one sticking with me!” Dongshen Xiaoli didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Currently, all ten people within the room were headed toward the pillar of green light.

Tianming wasn’t anxious yet, as Yin Chens were already gathered there and informing him of the situation.

The pillar of green wasn’t far from them, so everyone would probably arrive soon. The only one Tianming really wanted to protect was Dongshen Xiaoli, so the two were the closest to each other.

“Yin Chen, status report.” Tianming frowned as he looked at the eight figures ahead.

“Six walnuts!” Yin Chen kept repeating.

“Six walnuts? What’re they for, some tonic for the brain?” Tianming was confused. According to Yin Chen, the pillar of green light was made of the light given out by six green ‘walnuts’ floating within. The pillar was hexagonal, with one walnut at each corner of the hexagon.

“Could the walnuts be the tickets to getting out of here alive? Or are they a ticket to another area? Yin Chen see if you can take them first,” Tianming said.

“Duh obviously.” Yin Chen had already planned to do so. Its bodies had already gathered in that area when it noticed the light. Although it wasn’t as fast as the people, it had been much closer. Millions of its bodies flowed toward the pillar.

“How is it?” Tianming asked.

“Unable to! Millions have… died already! Unable to… get close!” Yin Chen said with pain. To be able to instantaneously erase millions of bodies, the green pillar and the six walnuts clearly wouldn’t be easy to obtain.

“Six… does that mean only six out of the ten can survive?” Tianming could only make guesses. However, the only thing that was certain was that the ten would fight over those six walnuts for the sake of survival. “The malicious part of this place is how they aren’t telling us the rules for the second round after the first round of slaughter. It’ll just make us panic and make wild guesses.”

Although they no longer had bee heads, everyone still felt like they were wearing an invisible one.

Tianming and Dongshen Xiaoli lagged behind the group, but the distance remained constant. The room was only so large so Tianming could already see the six walnuts.

Tianming was surprised to notice that the six walnuts were so small; they were even smaller than eggs. Furthermore, although they were green, they really were walnuts. Tianming had been expecting them to just be walnut-shaped. He had also thought they would at least be the size of a head.

“What’re those?” The rest saw the six walnuts.

“Grab it!” Although there was no announcement, the meaning behind the walnuts’ appearance was obvious. Kill your way to one and seize it for yourself! The ten still looked normal, but they acted like bee-headed people at this moment for the sake of survival.

The situation had immediately changed. Before the walnuts had appeared, the camps formed were two teams of five. However, there were six walnuts.

In the split second of conflict, Qi Xuanzi, Lin Jianxing, and Yi Zhuojun all ignored everyone else as they went forward to snatch a walnut. Lin Jianxing even ditched Lin Linglin in the process.

“Big Brother Jianxing, get one for me too….” Lin Linglin was anxious as she shouted toward Lin Jianxing’s back.

Alliance? It was gone in a moment. Yi Zhuojun’s only thought right now was to ensure a walnut for himself.

“Damn, we were too slow.” Dongshen Xiaoli had lost the initiative, as she wasn’t able to leave Tianming behind. Yi Zhuojun was strong, Lin Linglin had Lin Jianxing, and the ebons were a group of five…. If four people couldn’t get a walnut, Tianming and Dongshen Xiaoli were very likely candidates for elimination.

“Don’t worry.” Tianming’s eyes narrowed as he pulled Dongshen Xiaoli back.

“Don’t worry?” Dongshen Xiaoli was close to tears. Was this not the moment to be worried?

In the end, she didn’t know human nature like Tianming did. There were definitely people who would be unwilling to stop at just one walnut among the ten. And that person was Qi Xuanzi! In such a chaotic situation, the ebons had a definite advantage.

“Block them!” Qi Xuanzi rushed to the front. The four ebons behind him were quite obedient. They turned and glared at Yi Zhuojun, Lin Jianxing, and the rest. That was their advantage. If Yi Zhuojun had made such an order, the rest of his team, including Tianming, would have hesitated.

The situation completely broke down into absolute chaos, and a chaotic melee was tailor made for the ebons. That was due to their warbeasts. Each of them had over a dozen of them! They all carried large numbers of fauna worldstones on their necks.

The fauna worldstones glowed, heralding the arrival of warbeast after warbeast. They formed a meat shield that blocked Yi Zhuojun and Lin Jianxing, unleashing so many abilities that they came together into a colorful tsunami.

There were simply too many there, and even more than four were low-sanctuary-class warbeasts. Fire, lightning, and frost flew everywhere, and even the pillar of light seemed to have been engulfed.

Tianming was blocked by those warbeasts as well. Their team of five could no longer advance. “How fierce!”

The other side was able to cooperate well, while their own side was fraught with suspicion. The gap between the two teams was immediately revealed under pressure.

“If you want to block us, no one should dream of getting it!” Yi Zhuojun’s eyes shone. He quickly reacted and said to Lin Jianxing, “Brother Jianxing, can I trouble you to hold the fort? I’ll chase Qi Xuanzi. If I succeed, there’ll definitely be two walnuts for you!”

“Go,” Lin Jianxing said.
