Longevity Martial Arts: Grinding Experience in the Chaotic World

Chapter 872: Chapter 460: Mine Shaft No. 13

”Indeed! I really appreciate you.”

Elder Li Yuan nodded.

”Thank you for your trust, Elder. I will do my best to manage this mine.”

Gu Sheng respectfully replied.

Elder Li Yuan nodded with satisfaction and then left.

Watching Elder Li Yuan’s back, Gu Sheng secretly prayed that if he found the refined ore, he would surely keep it for himself!

The next day, Gu Sheng set off early with the workers assigned to him.

Gu Sheng counted the number, about thirty people.

Leading thirty people like this, even in modern society, one could be considered a small contractor.

”Everyone, follow me!”

Gu Sheng waved his hand and led the thirty people towards Mine 15.

One, two, three...

Just like that, Gu Sheng walked all the way to the position of Mine 13.

But at this moment, Gu Sheng noticed that Mine 13 seemed very quiet.

There were guards outside the other mines, and other equipment was also stationed at their entrances.

Only this Mine 13 had nothing outside, extremely silent.

”What’s going on?”

Gu Sheng turned his head to ask Old Li, who was beside him.

”Go, go, go!”

Old Li directly pulled Gu Sheng forward as if avoiding something.

Gu Sheng was filled with doubts. He stopped and asked again, ”Old Li, what’s up with this Mine 13? Why is there no one around, not even a guard?”

Old Li’s face looked somewhat unpleasant as he pulled Gu Sheng a few more steps ahead.

”Xiao Sheng, this Mine 13 isn’t an ordinary place; it’s a ghost mine.”

Old Li said in a low voice.

The feeling was like telling a ghost story.

”Silicon mine?”

Gu Sheng was taken aback, then a flash of excitement crossed his eyes, ”Are you saying there’s a silicon mine in there? That would be a treasure worth a fortune!”

”What silicon mine? I’m talking about a ghost mine, a haunted one.”

Old Li explained with a face of resignation, ”Although there are a lot of crystal stones in this mine, very few who go in can come out safely.”

Gu Sheng’s excitement was doused by a cold bucket of water.

”Haunted? In this day and age, who believes that? Old Li, don’t scare me.”

Gu Sheng frowned slightly, suddenly feeling a chill down his spine.

”Sigh...”

Old Li sighed, ”Xiao Sheng, I’ve worked in this mining area for decades. Haven’t I seen enough strange things? Ever since Mine 13 was discovered, strange things have been happening constantly.”

”Yes, I’ve also heard. Some who went in came out insane and others died suddenly, very eerie.”

”I’ve heard that too, that’s why Mine 13 was sealed and never reopened.”

At this moment, other experienced miners came over to discuss.

Gu Sheng’s curiosity was completely aroused. He never expected to hear about such a thing just after becoming a mining foreman.

But as a promising man of the new century, how could he be so easily convinced?

”What exactly happened? Old Li, tell me in detail.”

Gu Sheng continued to ask.

”I can’t say specifically. But those who came out said they saw things they shouldn’t have seen in the mine. Some said they saw ghosts, others heard strange sounds, and some saw unexplainable phenomena.”

Old Li spoke of what he had heard.

”Some even said there were toxic gases, corpses, those kinds of things.”

”Yes, I’ve heard that too, pretty creepy.”

The other miners said.

Gu Sheng frowned even more, secretly calculating.

”Doesn’t Elder Li Yuan care? Just letting such good resources go to waste?”

Gu Sheng sighed and glanced towards Mine 13.

Old Li shook his head and said, ”They care! But even with that, no one can clearly explain what happens inside. Later, the management gave up, and after that, Mine 13 became a taboo, and no one dared to touch it.”

Gu Sheng’s heart was filled with doubt and curiosity.

Looking at the silent entrance of the mine, he felt a surge to go in and explore.

”Old Li, do you think if we go in, we might encounter those strange happenings?”

Gu Sheng asked tentatively.

”Huh?”

Old Li’s face changed, ”Xiao Sheng, I advise you not to take the risk. The name of the ghost mine isn’t for nothing. Very few who go in come out safely.”

”Xiao Sheng, you’re young and have a promising future. It’s not worth risking it all for a moment of curiosity.”

”Yes, there’s no need for it.”

Other miners nodded in agreement.

Gu Sheng was silent for a while, secretly planning.

If Mine 13 is really that spooky, it would mean there must be something good inside.

Otherwise, why would those so-called ”evil things” guard it?

Listening to the others’ dissuasion, Gu Sheng wavered, after all, staying alive is the most important.

However, Gu Sheng felt a kind of longing from Mine 13, as if something inside was calling out to him.

If there really were some ”evil things” guarding it, then there must be hidden treasures unknown to others.

So Gu Sheng secretly decided, no matter what, to explore this mysterious mine.

”Alright, brothers, I know you’re looking out for me.”

Gu Sheng finally spoke, smiling and waving his hand as he continued, ”But I think we can’t just give up like this. If Mine 13 is really that mysterious, there must be unimaginable riches inside. I’m willing to take this risk, but I won’t force anyone if you’re not willing.”
