I Cultivate in a Government Office

Chapter 128: Chapter 94: Trade and Loan Matters (Part 2)

Yang Wenqing finalized the rough framework and profit distribution for the trading company. The specific details would naturally require further discussion, but the core direction had received support, and that was enough.

He then rose and said to the Third Elder and his father, ”Dad, Third Grand-uncle, please wait here for a moment. The rest needs to be handled by a specialist, so I’m going to contact someone.”

Yang Jianmu and Yang Dehou nodded readily.

Yang Wenqing left the reception room and found a relatively quiet corner in the hallway. He pressed the Deputy Group Leader badge at his waist, activating the Communication Array to contact Wang Ren, and got straight to business:

”Brother Wang, my family has arrived. We’ve mostly settled things for the trading company, so I’m afraid I’ll have to trouble you with the next steps,” Yang Wenqing said, getting straight to the point.

Wang Ren’s cheerful yet slightly weary voice came from the other end of the line: ”It’s no trouble, but my General Affairs Section is swamped, and with that business at sea earlier, I really can’t break away to handle this personally for the next couple of days. How about this? I’ll send one of the younger generation over to help you.”

”His name is Wang Qi. He’s my nephew, from my side of the family. He’ll be handling the company’s affairs in the future anyway, so it’s a good opportunity for him to get acquainted with your elders. Once I get these urgent matters sorted out, we can sit down for a proper talk.”

”That’s perfect. Thanks, Brother Wang,” Yang Wenqing said, then told him where he was.

”He’ll be over shortly. And Wenqing, let me give you a piece of brotherly advice: you shouldn’t be directly involved in what comes next. Understand?”

”Understood. Thanks for the heads-up, Brother Wang.”

...

「A quarter of an hour later.」

A young man in his early twenties with sharp, competent features, dressed smartly in a blue tunic, knocked on the reception room door. When Yang Wenqing called out, ”Come in,” he immediately broke into a brilliant smile and pushed his way inside.

”Hello, Yang Group Leader. I’m Wang Qi. Uncle Ren sent me to await your instructions.” The young man introduced himself to Yang Wenqing as soon as he entered, his eyes bright and alert as he spoke.

Yang Wenqing sized him up for a moment before introducing him to his father and the clan elder. ”Dad, Third Grand-uncle, this is Wang Qi, the nephew of Section Chief Wang Ren from the General Affairs Section. He will be assisting you with everything from here on out.”

Yang Jianmu and Yang Dehou hurried to their feet. They took in Wang Qi’s smart attire and confident air. Yang Wenqing had already told them about his partners, including Section Chief Wang, so they treated his nephew with great courtesy.

Wang Qi, for his part, was very savvy. By addressing them as ”Uncle Yang” and ”Old Master Yang,” he quickly put the two elders at ease.

After the introductions, Yang Wenqing openly called his father out of the room. ”Dad,” he said, ”the guesthouse here at the bureau is decent and safe. I’ve already arranged for you all to stay there for the next few days.”

He paused, then took five thousand yuan he had prepared from his Storage Bag and pressed it into his father’s hand, saying in a low voice, ”Wang Qi is one of our own, but we still need to cover necessary expenses. We can’t have him running around for us for free. Take this money. Spend what you must. The most important thing is to ensure everything goes smoothly.”

Holding the thick wad of cash, Yang Jianmu fumbled, unsure where to put it.

Seeing his father’s predicament, Yang Wenqing produced another Storage Bag. This was one he had confiscated during a previous attack. He had since used his authority with the Major Case Team to register it, making it a legally owned Storage Bag.

”Here, take this. You know how to use it, right?”

”I do. The clan has them as well.”

Yang Jianmu’s eyes lit up. He had practiced qi cultivation in his youth, and while he had never achieved the Grand Circulation, opening a Storage Bag was still child’s play for him. He just couldn’t use it for extended periods.

Yang Wenqing gave Wang Qi a few more instructions before returning to the reception room. He then led his father, the clan elder, two clan members of his generation, and Wang Qi to the bureau’s internal guesthouse.

After settling his family in, Yang Wenqing returned to his office and resumed tackling the seemingly endless mountain of paperwork. When it was time to leave for the day, he picked up his badge. This time, he contacted Vice Director Gao.

”Vice Director Gao, do you have a moment? I have something to report.”

He asked respectfully.

Soon, Vice Director Gao’s voice came back: ”Come to my office.”

Yang Wenqing went to Vice Director Gao’s office on the top floor. When he knocked and entered, the Vice Director was standing by the window, gazing out at the twilight. Seeing him enter, he gestured to the sofa. ”Sit!”

Yang Wenqing sat on the sofa. Forgoing pleasantries, he immediately gave Vice Director Gao a concise report on his partnership with Wang Ren, Wang Jianchao, and Xiao Liang.

The Vice Director showed no surprise as he listened, merely nodding slightly when Yang Wenqing finished. ”Wang Ren gave me a heads-up about this. It’s good that you young people have some initiative and are willing to team up for a legitimate business venture. Just don’t cross any lines.”

Then, his tone shifted as his gaze landed on Yang Wenqing’s face. ”You didn’t come all this way just to report this, did you? Are you short on startup capital? Hoping I can help smooth things over with the bank?”

Yang Wenqing looked a little embarrassed that he had been seen through so easily. He nodded. ”You see right through me, Vice Director Gao. The trading company needs a fair bit of capital to get started, so I was hoping to go through the bank.”

Vice Director Gao leaned back in his chair, drumming his fingers lightly on the armrest. ”You came to the right person for this. We’ve always had a close relationship with the City Defense Bank. A new trading company like yours, with a clear profit model, is precisely the kind of high-quality client they favor.”

”Who is your company’s representative?”

”A clan elder.”

”Does he have his identification papers with him?”

”Yes.”
