The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady

It might be that Nangong Mengmeng’s eyes were gazing too fiercely, so that Shen Yanxiao also noticed her existence.

And that slight glimpse made her somewhat surprised.

Was this not the same little girl who declared her reverence to the Warlock Profession at that time in the Holy Roland School? How could she be in this team of people from the G.o.d’s Domain?

Shen Yanxiao’s impression of this Nangong Mengmeng was not bad; however, the way she looked at her made her whole body shudder. She was sure that “Shen Yanxiao” and this Nangong Mengmeng had never met nor seen each other before, so why were this little girl’s eyes purely staring intently at her?

“The Holy Sage must be exhausted after going on a big journey, May I arrange for the Holy Sage to rest in the City Lord Residence?” Even though Shen Yanxiao was not pleased to see these people from the G.o.d’s Domain, she could not just tell them to leave now, could she?

Therefore, she could only let them stay in the City Lord Residence so that they could watch over them and avoid them discovering any trace of demons in the city, or else it would be kind of awkward.

”Thank you for your trouble.” The Holy Sage looked at Shen Yanxiao and nodded slightly, his eyes gentle.

”Right this way please.” Shen Yanxiao very kindly invited the group of people from the G.o.d’s Domain into the City Lord Residence and the five animals also accompanied them after they and the Holy Sage had exchanged looks. At last, they were finally inside the City Lord Residence. The Holy Sage sat on the top seat, while Shen Yanxiao sat at the side.

“For the Holy Sage to unexpectedly visit us, is there any matter you wish to discuss with us? If there is indeed an important matter then I will certainly do my best to do it.” Shen Yanxiao’s appearance was emitting an “I am a good person” aura.

The Holy Sage gently chuckled before looking earnestly at Shen Yanxiao. His eyes were filled with smile.

“The Barren Land is truly far from civilization. The reason why I came hear is because of the unusual behavior of the demon beasts. I have calculated that this might be because a beast tide that happens once a hundred years will occur. So I came here to see what’s going on.”

Demon beasts were not the same as the demons. Although the demons were divided into different rankings and had different minds, they could still become intelligent creatures. Demon beasts were not the same.

The demon beasts and the demons both came from the Devil Race’s land. Demon beasts were similar to a magical beast in this world, only they were far more cruel in nature and loved slaughtering living beings. Although a powerful demon beast could not transform into a human appearance like a magical beast, they were a purebred beast; flesh and blood would stimulate their fierceness.

When the Devil Race retreated underground and had their pa.s.sage to this world sealed, the demons and demon beasts they had brought into this world remained.

Though Shen Yanxiao had the heart to subdue the demons, as for the demon beasts, there was only one word she could say— kill!

Demon beasts had no humanity and were illogical creatures; their intellect was not as high as that of a human. They were just like wild beasts. Even the demons, who shared the same origin, would become their targets.

Compared to demon beasts, demons were still considered less fierce.

The most frightening thing was that a demon beast’s physique and fierceness was far superior to that of magical beasts. If a demon beast and a magical beast of the same level fought in a battle, the magical beast would be bound to suffer a crushing defeat. Moreover, demon beasts were likely to live in groups. When the Devil Race was forced to return to their world, the demon beasts settled in the Barren Land. However, the demon beasts did not scurry around everywhere; otherwise, the damage caused by the demon beasts’ havoc would have definitely far exceeded that of the demons.

The four countries did not dare to provoke a demon beast or else it might provoke them all. The real reason why the Barren Land was abandoned was because, apart from the demons, there were also these demons beasts residing in there.

The demon beasts occupied the deepest part of the southeast of the Barren Land. There lay a very wide forest called the Dark Demon Forest. All the demon beasts residing in there would not appear easily. That place was considered the forbidden zone in the Barren Land. Not to mention humans, even demons did not dare to take half a step into it.

If the demon beasts just stayed in the Dark Demon Forest and never came out, it would have been fine&h.e.l.lip; but once in a hundred years, the demon beasts in the Dark Demon Forest would come out from their nest. Not only would they attack the demons and humans in the Barren Land, but they would also attack the various countries bordering the Barren Land.
