Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1456 - 2: Casino, the Ice Creams and...

After looking around the gambling tables, he sat at the poker table, Gracier followed obediently behind and just observed, she was thinking about what she would buy with the money earned here, this would be the price to pay for her to keep her lips shut.

Unaware of his sisterʼs inner thoughts, Alex was ready for some action, it was then.

〖Poker? Are you going to scam them again?〗

Silveriaʼs voice was slightly raised as she said those words.

ʼTch! No, I never scam them.ʼ

Alexʼs eyes shone as he watched the cards being distributed.

〖What?〗Silveria doubted her ears and just as she was about to ask something Alex struck.

ʼItʼs your turn now. Go over there and check their cards for me.ʼ

There was a moment of silence before she understood his intentions.

〖What a crazy bastard〗

Silveria half materialized and only Alex could see her, she then started spreading terrifying pressure.

〖Iʼm the Nemesis of the magic, a powerful goddess! How dare you to give me orders! And you dare to ask me to peek at their cards.〗

Silveria seemed completely furious to be used like this, Alexʼs order irked her and she was restraining herself from giving him a good beating.

ʼYou are mistaken.ʼ

Alex remained peaceful amid the coldness filling the space. He nonchalantly shook his head as if he had anticipated this to happen and indeed he had.

ʼItʼs a trade.ʼ

〖Trade?〗

ʼYes. Iʼll eat everything you desire here if you help me.ʼ

〖You are a crazy bastard! Even though Iʼm a well-known gourmet, did you truly believe such a suggestion would…〗

ʼI saw a bead ice cream vendor earlier. There was a new product, too.ʼ Alex nonchalantly declared.

Silveria hesitated for a moment.

〖Itʼs pointless! Missing some bead ice cream isnʼt a big deal…〗

ʼTwo bead ice creams.ʼ Alex counterattacked.

〖S-Shut up! Do you truly believe the nemesis of magic would…〗

She didnʼt finish her sentence before Alex said with a smile.

ʼThree.ʼ

There was a moment of silence.

ʼFour, and another food you want to eat.ʼ He added.

Silveria stopped speaking. Alex understood it was time to put an end to it.

〖Where shall I check?〗

Four-bead ice cream and one food of choice.

It was really a cheap price to pay to utilize the mighty silver goddess.

°°°

Poker.

It was a very simple game where players tried to assemble certain combinations using the random cards the dealer gave you, then revealed them after betting chips for the winner to get the pot.

Since there werenʼt any rules to learn as long as you remember the hands, poker was one of the most popular games in casinos.

Because of its popularity, there were also over twenty poker tables in Avalonʼs commercial district casino, and all the spectators were mysteriously gathered around the table at the end.

”H-how many times did he win in a row? Four? Five?”

”From what Iʼve counted, he won six times in a row.”

”Idiots, the winning streak isnʼt the important part. He is playing as if he knows everything about the opponentʼs cards!”

”I know, right? How can he play so well?”

The spectators were amazed by the man in a black robe sitting at the center of the table.

”Itʼs not just about the winning streak, but his winning rate is also crazy. I think heʼs been winning more than seven out of ten games.”

”He is so lucky. I used to be like that once.”

”Bullshit, youʼve always been broke!”

”Wow, look at all those chips. Theyʼre piled up like a mountain, Iʼm jealous.”

Just like he said, chips were piled up like a hill in front of the black-robed man, naturally, it was our protagonist Alexander Kael Touch.

”Haa!”

”Hmm…”

”Damn it.”

The gamblers at that table broke out in a cold sweat or frowned upon seeing that.

”Isnʼt he a dishonest gambler? Itʼs also called a swindler.”

”You idiot! Thereʼs a magic cast inside the Black Hawkʼs casino, mana canʼt be used here. And that dealer wouldʼve caught him already if he was a swindler since he has over twenty years of experience.”

”Ah, now that you mention it, they changed the dealer as well.”

Because the robed man kept winning over and over, the other clients complained and the dealer was changed. However, that didnʼt make him start losing money.

”That means he is lucky.”

”Wow, I wish I was that lucky…”

”Well, obviously heʼs lucky, but his judgment is great too. His gaze is no joke.”

”Ahhhh…”

Gracier, who had been listening to the spectators while biting her fingernails, was anxious despite her Big Brother winning. Too much can be toxic she thought, better stop before running out of luck.

”B-big brother, letʼs stop now. Now is the time that your beginnerʼs luck has been extended like a rubber band! Everyoneʼs saying you were just lucky!”

”How long do you think beginnerʼs luck can last?”

Alex smirked, looking at his sisterʼs anxious eyes.

ʼWell, itʼs about time I stop.ʼ

He gathered his mountain of chips and nodded.

ʼAnd there might be trouble if I continue.ʼ

He won consecutively because it could cause a problem if he kept winning even more. A good gambler should know when to stop.

”Iʼll stop for now. Please exchange them for gold.”

Alex stood up while pushing the chips towards the dealer.

”Wait! Did you just say you are going to leave now?”

The fox-masked woman, who had followed him from the game of dice to the poker table, stood up after him.

”Well, Iʼve won enough.”

”You canʼt just leave after winning!”

”But donʼt people come here to win?”

”Letʼs play one more game. I havenʼt won a single game!”

”I donʼt have much time, though.”

”Argh!”

The fox-masked woman glared at him furiously, biting her lip. It seemed like she was exploding in anger after losing twenty games in a row between the dice and poker games.

Thatʼs why she shouldnʼt have followed him.

Even though no one told her to follow him, she challenged him on her own and lost. Alex couldnʼt understand why she was being like that, even though it was her fault.

”Hmm…”

”Ahem.”

”I-Iʼll go somewhere else.”

Curiously, the spectators avoided their gazes as soon as the woman stood up in anger. It looked like they were afraid of her.

As expected, she mustʼve been from a famous family.

”You still have lots of money. Please donʼt mind me, have fun.”

”Are you out of your mind just because you are slightly good at gambling? Stop messing with me and stay right there!”

”Ah, okay.”

Alex ignored her and turned around. He was going to leave anyway, so it didnʼt matter what important position she had. He went to the exit, ignoring the grinding sound of her teeth. He didnʼt have the time to waste on a spoiled child. He had his fun that was all that mattered.

”Letʼs go.”

”Ah, yes!”

Gracier breathed out a sigh of relief and followed him, thinking her advice had worked.

〖 Alexander Kael Touch, youʼd better remember your deal with this lady or else the consequences will be grave.〗Silveria who acted as spy to facilitate Alexʼs cheating at the poker interjected.

ʼOf course.ʼ Alex didnʼt forget, he had expected her to act immediately after he stopped so he was not surprised, on the contrary, he was amused as a grin formed on his face.

〖It is a relief since I was going to kill you if you forgot about it. Letʼs go to finish the deal.〗

It was a heavy and cold voice. However, the fact that the dealʼs contents were ice cream and food was making him laugh.

ʼAlright, letʼs go.ʼ

Alex snickered and left the casino. He didnʼt forget to tell his sister this.

ʼʼAlexandra, Iʼll buy you whatever you want.ʼʼ

ʼʼGreat!” Gracier was overjoyed, almost starting to jump around, her eyes were shining.

ʼʼSilveria?” She was shocked to see the silver goddess suddenly appearing but the latter was busy with something else, she immediately went towards the vendor of Ice cream.

ʼʼWhat?” Gracier was surprised by her behavior and looked at her brother who simply shrugged his shoulders before following Silveria.

ʼʼFour Mint chocolate Ice creams,ʼʼ Silveria ordered as soon as she reached the vendor. Her eyes were sparkling like that of a child.

That day Alex did everything Silveria wanted shocking Gracier, she later found out the reason for her Big Brotherʼs unusual behavior. She understood that it was thanks to Silveria spying on the others could he have easily won at the pokerʼs table.

Gracier was shocked, curious she asked if whether she helped him or not since the beginning but she shook her head and said it was only for poker which means her brother has a method to win, she tried getting him teach her this method but Alex refused and glared at Silveria for spilling everything.

The trio had fun for a long time, Silveria ate so much Ice creams the vendor has to temporarily close his shop. It was fun.
