Sovereign of the Ashes

As the colossal pillar of energy tore through the barrier, all living beings fell silent.

An immense black vortex appeared above Black Mist World.

A massive hole had been blasted straight through the planar barrier!

Under the impact of the law power and the raging torrent of energy, the densest black mist in the world swirled and converged endlessly.

The vortex grew larger and larger, showing no sign of fading.

Through that massive hole, Sein, who stood outside the plane, seemed to glimpse the despair on the Rank Five God of Black Mist’s face.

He also saw the countless beings of this low-level plane looking up in worship at that terrifying power and the phenomenon they could not comprehend.

Sein let out a soft sigh. As he lowered his magic scepter, Fermera immediately returned to her original form.

“This worked even better than our previous tests. The energy transmission was more stable, and the elemental power burst exceeded our previous limits,” Sein remarked with satisfaction.

Each successful collaboration between Sein and Fermera marked another step forward in his research into the mechanical arts.

Maybe Sein was actually more suited to becoming a mechanic after all?

Back then, he had chosen pyro elemental magic as his main path simply because of his elemental affinity and aptitude during his initiate years.

On top of that, pyro elemental magic was widely recognized as the most destructive spell category at lower levels.

Before he had secured enough power to protect himself, Sein’s pursuit of strength had been extremely intense.

Glancing down at the breached planar barrier, Sein said to Belphane, “I think you can move in now.”

“O-Oh! Alright!” Belphane, who had been standing there in a daze, finally snapped back to her senses.

The arrogance and wildness she had shown earlier were nowhere to be seen now.

She now looked at Sein with a clear trace of respect and admiration.

Knights were the group with the clearest understanding of the true nature of power.

As Belphane moved out, the three hundred thousand-strong Dawn Empire legion also surged down toward the battlefield below in unison.

The mysterious light of the Magic Cube shone once more, and more than a hundred thousand angel robots reappeared in this stretch of space.

With Fermera leading the charge, lightsaber in hand, the angel robots followed her through the massive vortex of black mist and descended toward the battlefield below.

Sein, who was observing the situation within the low-level plane through the Faceless Mask, called after her, “Help me capture that planetary-class federal war fort. Try not to damage it too badly.”

“It feels a little strange not having a large-scale war platform of my own. I can’t stay inside Princess Wudi’s imperial chariot forever. Besides, this kind of planetary-class war fort might prove useful for the next phase of my mechanical arts experiments,” he said.

He had clearly taken a liking to the God of Black Mist’s vessel, making no attempt to hide his desire to claim it for himself.

Fermera nodded slightly.

As the mechanical angels flew toward the battlefield below, their course gradually shifted.

Instead of heading straight for the God of Black Mist, they turned toward the imposing planetary-class federal war fort.

As the Dawn Empire launched its offensive against Divine Descendants World, the Gallant Federation responded immediately, just as expected.

The flames of war had not touched Divine Descendants World in recent years. In a sense, it served as one of the Gallant Federation’s rear bases.

Another large-sized world that had remained untouched by the conflict was the Tris Civilization, the Gallant Federation’s best subordinate.

By contrast, the Grand Apocalypse World and the Zeak Empire had both seen frequent outbreaks of war within their own territories in recent years.

The fighting in the Grand Apocalypse World, in particular, had been exceptionally intense.

The Magus Civilization’s forces had even shown signs of shifting their focus toward that region.

Now that even Divine Descendants World had come under attack, the Gallant Federation felt as though it was being forced to fight on every front.

The order to support the Divine Descendants World was issued personally by Marshal Schmain of the Gallant Federation.

He believed the federation could not afford to be dragged into a situation where it was fighting everywhere at once.

At the very least, one or two major rear bases had to remain stable if the Gallant Federation wanted to maintain its state of “maximum troop production”.

Otherwise, once Divine Descendants World was breached, the Magus Civilization would inevitably open a new front behind the Gallant Federation’s lines, bringing the flames of war straight back to the federation’s homeworld.

That would undoubtedly deal a devastating blow to the federation!

At that point, the Gallant Federation would truly have no hope left.

Even if it managed to withstand the Magus Civilization’s assault for a time, it would only be delaying the inevitable.

Originally, Marshal Schmain had planned to personally lead an overlord-class fleet to reinforce Divine Descendants World, aiming at the very least to repel this Magus Civilization legion that had appeared out of nowhere.

However, a sudden upheaval on the main front of the civilizational battlefield forced Marshal Schmain to lead his fleet there swiftly instead.

The fall of Divine Descendants World would have a major impact on the federation’s future war situation and its overall civilizational defenses.

But if the federation’s main front collapsed at this moment, that would be the true end!

Marshal Schmain’s conflicting orders and difficult decisions also highlighted the Gallant Federation’s current predicament: a severe shortage of high-level combat power.

When facing the Magus Civilization, the Gallant Federation had never lacked mid and lower-tier combatants.

The entire civilization had shifted its focus toward heavy military industry, deploying massive numbers of drones, standard warships, and robot legions to the frontlines.

The federation’s advanced production capabilities were plain for all to see.

However, overlord-class combat power was not something that could be mass-produced in a short period of time.

Before the outbreak of all-out war with the Magus Civilization, the Gallant Federation’s overlord-class fleets had also been built up gradually over time.

Even if the pressure of the Clash of Civilizations forced the Gallant Federation to push its potential to the limit, allowing it to release certain new technologies and products in the short term...

No civilization’s potential could be squeezed endlessly!

At the very least, when it came to producing the energy cores for overlord-class battleships and overlord-class war forts, the federation’s top brass still would not be able to create them out of thin air, no matter how desperate they were.

As for the Gallant Federation pinning its hopes on achieving short-term technological breakthroughs through the technologies obtained from the Eiyurant Papillon Civilization and the Black Merlot Civilization, that was nothing more than wishful thinking.

Samaret, the federation’s chief scientist, did not seem to have made much progress so far.

Another renowned federal scholar, Syphen, had also not been reported to have produced an overlord-class android immediately after obtaining the wreckage of one from the Norman Federation, a vassal of the Magus Civilization.

Perhaps they would not be able to produce one even by the end of the war.

And the main reason Marshal Schmain had rushed to the frontlines of the civilizational battlefield was...

The Dragon Clan of the Immortal Realm had appeared!

The Mordora Star Domain...

This was where the first battle took place after the Dragon Clan of the Immortal Realm descended upon the Magus Civilization’s battlefield.

Following friendly negotiations with Lady Bev, the leader of the Magus Civilization, the Magus Civilization agreed to cover sixty percent of the teleportation costs for the Immortal Realm’s Dragon Clan.

In fact, the Dragon Clan had arrived on the battlefield slightly earlier than the Martial Civilization’s arrival at Divine Descendants World.

The reason the federation’s response was a little slower was that these dragon forces had not headed straight for the Gallant Federation’s frontlines at first. Instead, they had gone to seek revenge.

The target of those dragons was naturally the Amenkha Empire legion that had pushed deep into the Magus Civilization’s battlefield.

Earlier on, the Tenth Pharaoh had been using hit-and-run tactics against the Magus Civilization.

Baxia had never been an especially fast-moving overlord to begin with, so catching up to her was naturally difficult.

Meanwhile, the Magus Civilization forces were tied down by battles on the frontlines, making it difficult for them to spare additional overlord-level powerhouses to assist Baxia.

As a result, the Tenth Pharaoh had been able to run rampant for quite some time.

This had even indirectly affected the Magus Civilization’s conquest of the Grand Apocalypse World.

But once the Dragon Clan of the Immortal Realm arrived on the battlefield, everything changed.

Baxia’s brothers were the first to arrive.

And once Chaofeng, a master of spatial laws, stepped in, the Tenth Pharaoh was finally cornered by a group of overlord-level dragonkin.
