Sovereign of the Ashes

After their initial attacks produced the desired results, the overlords of the Luminara Civilization convened and quickly decided to ramp up their efforts!

Over ten of them, including Aebrax, Remgiel, Etride, and Mebrius, led their respective legions into battle against the Amenkha Empire one after the other.

Among them, Remgiel stood out as a Rank Eight overlord with extensive combat experience.

Mebrius, on the other hand, was one of the most well-known peak Rank Seven overlords in the Luminara Civilization over the last nearly one hundred thousand years, with the impressive achievement of having slain a monster king and severely injured a Pharaoh.

With so many overlords joining forces, the Luminara Civilization stirred up quite a commotion on the battlefield.

Without knowing the full picture, it could easily be mistaken for a full-scale offensive by the Luminara Civilization against the Amenkha Empire.

The Luminara Civilization had indeed chosen its moment perfectly.

They had launched their attack at a time when there was a significant power vacuum within the Amenkha Empire.

Had this full-scale offensive been initiated a hundred years later, or even a hundred years earlier, the outcome would likely not have been as favorable as it was now.

The Pharaohs’ Temple of the Amenkha Empire was the first to feel the impact of the Luminara Overlords’ sudden assault.

Currently, the Amenkha Empire was not completely unguarded.

The current emperor was a formidable Rank Eight powerhouse.

As the keeper of the Sacred Scriptures of Amenkha, the Second Pharaoh represented the empire’s foundation of power.

In addition, the Amenkha Empire had another immensely powerful being known as Grumz, the Monster Emperor.

The title “Emperor” was not one to be used lightly in the Amenkha Empire—after all, there was already an emperor.

Grumz earned the title “Monster Emperor” not only because of its immense power but also because of the favor he received from the First Pharaoh.

Once the First Pharaoh’s mount, Grumz accompanied him on campaigns across the land, helping to lay the foundation for the Amenkha Empire’s remarkable civilization over the past hundreds of thousands of years.

Its title alone signified that he was the true king of the Amenkha Empire’s Monster Legion.

Other overlord-level monsters, while also bearing the title of monster kings, inevitably bow in submission upon encountering Grumz.

Grumz was not just a single, independent monster.

In fact, it was a monstrosity created through the fusion of five overlord-level monster kings.

Grumz was ultimately controlled by Grount, the Rank Eight monster king who formed its chest.

Belmonston, another Rank Eight monster king, acted as its wings

Siegel, a blade monster, served as both the upper body and arms, while a shield beast made up the lower body and tail.

Lastly, Baraba acted as the head.

But why was Grount, located in the chest cavity, the dominant consciousness instead of Baraba, who was the head?

Of course, it was because Grount stood above the rest in strength!

In the Amenkha Empire, respect was only given to the strongest.

As for why these five monster kings had chosen to fuse back then, it was partly due to the First Pharaoh’s experiment and partly due to their need to “huddle together for warmth” to survive the endless battles and slaughters.

There were many similar fusion monsters in the Amenkha Empire’s Monster Legion, but aside from Grumz, very few fusion monsters have reached such a level of power.

The Luminara Civilization once combined the strength of six overlord-level Luminarians to launch a coordinated assault against Grumz.

In the end, they only succeeded in wounding it; they could not deal any truly devastating damage.

Still, Grumz had one major weakness.

Despite its overwhelming power, conflict sometimes arose among the five monster kings due to their differing wills.

That was only to be expected, as they had long passed the stage of early weakness when they needed to band together for mutual support.

This internal conflict held Grumz back from fully unleashing its combat potential.

About seventy thousand years ago, Grumz had the privilege of meeting his master, the First Pharaoh of the Amenkha Empire.

At that time, Grount felt its limbs growing increasingly difficult to control. It expressed its desire to fuse with two more overlord-level monster kings, hoping to increase the number of fused entities to seven.

The First Pharaoh responded, “You’re already at the optimal balance. Adding two more monster kings might increase your overall energy, but it won’t necessarily improve your combat prowess. In fact, if your law power becomes too scattered and chaotic, it risks a collapse.”

To Grumz, the First Pharaoh’s words were absolute truth.

It might defy even the current Amenkha Emperor at times, but it would never disobey the First Pharaoh.

The Luminara Civilization suddenly launched an attack, and Grumz, the Monster Emperor stationed in the Amenkha Empire, was the first to respond.

Even before receiving orders from the Second Pharaoh, it was already on the frontlines.

Its massive fleshy wings, massive enough to obscure the sky, spread wide across the cosmos.

As the Monster Emperor swept through the star domain, it felt as though even the light surrounding the starry sky was being swallowed by it.

Among the Luminara Civilization’s powerhouses who could face Grumz, the best choice was undoubtedly Dyrska, their strongest warrior.

With the Amenkha Empire’s Pharaohs having departed in succession, Dyrska quickly rushed to the frontlines after meeting with the Luminarian King to counter the threat posed by Grumz.

Dyrska was a top-tier powerhouse of the Astral Realm, capable of going toe to toe with Grumz.

Facing this imposing Monster Emperor, whose sheer energy was daunting, Dyrska did not even activate his special form at the start.

Just as the Pharaohs of the Amenkha Empire had special methods to break their seals, some Luminarians also possessed unique combat forms.

Dyrska was one of them.

In addition to his initial form, he has two other combat forms, though he had not used them in a long time.

Like a massive star in the vast sky, Dyrska quietly observed his opponent before him.

This was a clash between a star and a black hole that devoured everything.

With his affinity for the lumen element, Dyrska, the strongest of the Luminara Civilization, could rival a large lumen-attribute plane.

At that moment, he was the light!

“Ozman is still in seclusion, Evon has gone to the Grand Cosmic World, and Sathograel remains in the Pharaohs’ Temple. If I can repel Grumz quickly, I might be able to create a significant shift in the course of this Clash of Civilizations,” Dyrska thought to himself.

A dazzling blue light surged from within his body.
