Sovereign of the Ashes

As the lower legions launched their charge, Sein and the other law-wielding powerhouses moved as well.

In truth, within Sein’s current sector, the Magus Civilization held a numerical advantage over the Gallant Federation in Rank Four creatures.

Beyond the four alliance creatures and two Rank Four knights already mentioned, there were also Reina and Sia, along with Yuri piloting the Burning Flame Unit.

Instead of immediately deploying Fermera and her angel legion, Sein kept them concealed within the Ashen Fortress.

After Fermera entered standby mode and was shielded by the special force field emitted by the Magic Cube, Sein discovered that she could evade detection by standard reconnaissance ships.

Moreover, the chaotic battlefield conditions and the external cover provided by the massive space fortress further helped conceal Fermera’s presence.

Sein kept Fermera hidden for one reason—to make a decisive move at the right moment.

The subspace battlefield before them was undoubtedly the largest engagement Sein had ever witnessed up close since joining the Clash of Civilizations.

Hundreds of high-ranking beings clashed in a chaotic melee, with both sides fielding double-digit numbers of Rank Six combatants.

Fermera served as a perfect ace up his sleeve, whether for self-defense or for launching surprise strikes against the enemy.

The Gallant Federation forces currently facing Sein and his allies included Fleet B101 to B103, ZOI-type robot legions, Blue Flash mobile suit units, and various unnamed ground artillery batteries and drone legions.

Sein had already witnessed the Gallant Federation’s formidable engineering capabilities on other battlefields.

The Steel Ruins was undoubtedly one of the most advantageous combat zones for the federation.

After all, steel was the one resource this battlefield had in abundance.

Hordes of engineering robots and portable alloy fortifications rapidly transformed the Gallant Federation’s frontlines into an impenetrable wall of steel.

The Magus Civilization had originally been on the offensive in this sector. Yet when Sein arrived at the designated coordinates, he found that the Gallant Federation had already pushed the Magus Civilization’s forces back, inflicting heavy losses in the process.

No wonder Sein had been recalled to the frontlines so soon after his return.

The sudden arrival of Sein’s millions-strong legion represented the most powerful new force to enter this sector.

Whether the Gallant Federation had reinforcements on the way remained unclear to Sein, but one thing was certain—his performance was about to begin.

The Divine Tower of Ashes Army had long served as a logistical force, but now every mage was sharpening their blades.

Under the leadership of Rank Three mages, one mage formation after another was formed.

Rather than exposing themselves in the heart of the battlefield, these formations were positioned within the Ashen Fortress instead.

Within the colossal Ashen Fortress were multiple large combat platforms, spacious enough for thousands of mages to unleash their magic to the fullest.

By the Ashen Fortress’ specifications, it could easily support even tens of thousands of mages at once.

In an instant, the torrent of elemental energy unleashed by the Ashen Fortress’ main cannons became the clarion call for the clash of lower-tier legions across the battlefield.

Countless elemental forces erupted violently from every angle of the fortress as every prism fort and war airship opened fire simultaneously.

As a key battlefield expected to draw the attention of overlord-level entities from both sides, this subspace battlefield had recently been supplied with numerous “novelties” from the Magus Civilization’s rear support.

Hundreds of magic-powered puppets plunged like meteors from the lower decks of the space fortress, slamming into the battlefield below.

Although smaller than the giant mobile suits developed by the Gallant Federation, each of these magic-powered puppets stood between ten and thirty meters tall.

They appeared even more robust than titans.

These magic-powered puppets were the latest creations developed by Steel City’s mechanics.

Each possessed combat strength comparable to Rank Two or Rank Three.

The remote operators controlling these magic-powered puppets were Rank One or Two mages stationed in special cockpits within the space fortress.

These magic-powered puppets were not purchased by Sein but gifted by Bernice on the eve of his departure.

The foundational supplies for the Clash of Civilizations were not borne entirely by each divine tower and knight order.

Beyond mission rewards granted by the alliance upon completing combat objectives, Magus Civilization legions also received unconditional support from the rear during both pre-war preparations and active wartime.

For example, in addition to this batch of magic-powered puppets, Sein’s Divine Tower of Ashes had also recently received numerous new magic cannons.

These magic cannons had likewise been mounted only recently throughout various sections of the Ashen Fortress.

Fighting the Clash of Civilizations with the support of home civilization was, indeed, far more reassuring.

During Sein’s previous campaign in the Grand Eye Demon World Star Domain, logistical support had been provided, but it was nowhere near as abundant as it was now.

A volley of what could only be described as extravagant magical artillery, combined with a barrage of diverse, continuous spells, transformed the sky above the battlefield into a raging maelstrom of elements.

Before clashing with the Gallant Federation, long-range fire support had always been a source of pride for Magus World.

Weaker hostile creatures from foreign planes were often overwhelmed by elemental power before they could even make contact with Magus World legions.

The Gallant Federation, however, was a civilization capable of matching the Magus Civilization in direct firepower.

When their fleets unleashed concentrated barrages, the Magus Civilization risked being counterattacked if the number of gathered mages proved insufficient.

Yet on this battlefield, the Gallant Federation legions seemed to lack any surplus firepower.

Having just repelled the Magus Civilization’s previous assault, the commanders of several fleets were preparing to launch a countercharge.

But before those fleets and ground forces could fully advance, they were once again forced back by the reinforcements led by Sein.

The Giant Jaw Legion and the Leafborne Legion, positioned at the front center of the formation and advancing at high speed, charged straight ahead under the cover of the Magus Civilization’s torrential elemental storm.

Driven by high-pressure tactics, the federal legions pressed forward with reckless abandon.

A Rank Three Giant Jaw was the first to break through the Gallant Federation’s defensive line.

By then, the surrounding fortifications were already in ruins, debris scattered everywhere as explosions continued to erupt.

The Rank Three Giant Jaw’s massive nostrils flared as it sniffed the air, then charged straight toward a ruined bunker whose twin cannon barrels had already been broken.

There, it caught the scent of living humans.

As the shadow of this terrifying Rank Three creature loomed over them, the few surviving federal soldiers inside the bunker desperately activated its self-destruct mechanism.
