The Eldritch Files

An image then surfaced in his mind: Li Moxi, standing before the Bai Mansion, summoning a sea of blood.

Li Moxi had acted swiftly then, destroying the Bai Mansion’s security system to avoid casualties. But his gaze and his warning had also deeply affected Han Su.

’Perhaps he also wanted me to see clearly how he controls that Mysterious Power...’

’We’re not related or even friends. Did he really need to go that far?’

Han Su didn’t really have an answer to that question, but he knew with absolute clarity that Li Moxi had done just that—he had shown him everything without reservation.

It was like a master showing off his most prized work of art.

And Han Su was certain that he had indeed seen something incredible in that demonstration.

’The core of Mysterious Power lies in opposition.’

’The essence of life is endless war.’

...

The principles Li Moxi had explained and the warning Miss Ai had once given him flashed through his mind, gradually merging. A glint of resolve appeared in Han Su’s eyes.

’Alright, then. I’ll use this theory to attempt the first step of Tier Two Mysterious Power training...’

With that thought, he activated his Spiritual Power and once again examined his Divine Material.

Following the bold plan he’d formulated, he first set aside the eye and the Pocket Watch. The magnitude of the Mysterious Power they contained was too high; they would be needed for a later step.

For the first step, he called upon the power of the Pale Giant and allowed it to make contact with his Divine Material.

In this current timeline, the Pale Giant’s Power didn’t actually exist within Han Su’s body.

However, this power had been recorded by the Fishing Song, which allowed it to be summoned and form a connection with Han Su’s spirit.

Since this was his first attempt, Han Su was cautious, using only a minuscule thread of the power.

HUMMM...

The instant the two powers made contact, Han Su practically forgot to breathe, his every nerve stretched taut as a bowstring.

Just as he had anticipated, the moment they touched, the Divine Material inside Han Su’s body underwent a sudden transformation.

Its numb, sluggish state was activated, and it began to transform into something resembling the Pale Power.

As his Divine Material changed, Han Su felt his entire body begin to change with it.

His skin instantly turned pale. Every cell felt like it had been shot full of potent adrenaline, becoming hyperactive and agitated, almost as if they were about to tear away from his body and exist on their own.

The Pale Power was of too high a tier and possessed a terrifyingly corruptive nature. The moment his Divine Material was exposed to it, it was instantly assimilated.

The assimilation of his Divine Material immediately triggered a chain reaction in Han Su’s own body, identical to how an ordinary person would react to the corruption. The next step would be an assault on his consciousness, after which his entire being would dissolve into the Pale.

This was a sign of impending loss of control.

Fortunately, Han Su was prepared.

The instant he recognized the problem, he was already chanting silently in his mind: *’I, a God, issue this decree!’*

In that instant, the Pale Power was expelled.

Han Su’s Divine Material trembled strangely, lost all its new characteristics, and reverted to its dim, stable form.

’It worked...’

Han Su breathed a small sigh of relief. The Fishing Song was the very safety valve he had put in place for himself, which was the only reason he had dared to make such a bold attempt.

Now that he had confirmed this Spell could act as a cut-off during his experiments, it meant his theory was viable.

’Next...’

...Huh?

Han Su had chanted the Fishing Song with the intention of restoring his Divine Material to try again, but an unexpected change occurred—something beyond his imagination.

Although his attention was focused on the Divine Material, his Spiritual Activity was already engaged. This allowed him to use the radiation of his Spiritual Power to bring his entire surroundings within the scope of his senses.

It was this spiritual radiation that allowed him to notice the black briefcase at his side suddenly give a slight shudder as he chanted the Fishing Song.

Something inside the briefcase had been activated by the recitation of the Spell. It was even producing a strange resonance, unfolding itself bit by bit right in front of him.

’The Emperor’s Book?’

Han Su was filled with a strange sense of wonder and surprise.

He could feel certain words inside the Emperor’s Book resonating with the Fishing Song.

The words seemed to spring to life, and inside the briefcase, the Emperor’s Book opened on its own.

The words within, seemingly alive, followed the path of his spiritual radiation, crawling one by one onto his body and into his Spirit World.

They covered him, and they covered his Divine Material, suffusing everything with a golden light.

’The Fishing Song is actually related to the Emperor’s Book?’

...

...

Meanwhile, in another room at the base, Li Moxi had just returned. He stared at the dazed, fat cook who had just been found in a bathroom. As he listened to his security team’s report, he learned that someone had just entered the base and left undetected. Yet, his face betrayed no emotion.

He did not approve his subordinate’s suggestion to bring Han Su back for questioning.

’Someone broke in, which means our own security was lacking. Without evidence, we have no right to make baseless accusations.’ He pondered for a moment before shaking his head.

”Tighten security. Also... it’s time to establish a reality anchor. Ask that arrogant woman to come and see her son.”
