Supreme Sword Exalt

Although the old man had already reached the Half-Step Transcendent realm, this sound still caused his blood to churn violently. His heart sank. Shit! I underestimated this brat. He’s going to ruin my plan!

Gu Han’s cry cleared the demoness’ dazed look, and she vaguely regained a bit of clarity. At the same time, the old man’s cultivation plummeted to the Heavenly Tribulation realm.

Yet when she saw the old man, a trace of reluctant affection appeared in her eyes. “G-Grandfather? You’re still alive?”

The old man darted his eyes, tears streaming down his face. “Ah Yin, I finally see you again...”

His aura was showing signs of climbing again!

Gu Han turned cold. “Don’t believe him! Your grandfather is already gone! You should know that better than anyone!”

A flash of sorrow passed through the demoness’ eyes, and she slowly closed them. Tears couldn’t stop streaming down her face. “You’re right. Grandfather is already gone!”

When she opened her eyes again, she had completely regained her clarity.

The old man panicked. “Ah Yin, don’t you—”

With a shudder, he dissipated, transforming into a floating green wisp.

The green wisp raged loudly. “Brat! How dare you ruin my plan! I will kill you!”

A flash of sword light streaked by and sliced it in half. In the next moment, it reformed as if it hadn’t been damaged at all.

Gu Han relentlessly attacked the wisp, but to no avail. No matter how many pieces the green wisp was cut into, it always reformed, seemingly unafraid of his sword light.

The green wisp grew even more smug, its tone became increasingly arrogant. “I possess the Illusory Demon Physique, indestructible and formless. How could a puny cultivator like you harm me? If you know what’s good for you, kneel and beg for mercy! Otherwise, I’ll make it so you can neither live nor die!”

Gu Han frowned slightly. “Illusory Demon?”

He had heard Qian Ye mention this before. The demonic path was divided into True Demons, Heavenly Demons, Heart Demons, Yin Demons... Illusory Demons should be one of them as well.

Formless? This is annoying. He looked at his sword. When he struck, he indeed didn’t feel the sensation of cutting anything solid.

Upon seeing Gu Han not attacking, the green wisp arrogance knew no bounds. “Knee and call me daddy first! And you, little wench! You follow the Heavenly Demon path, which has some connection to me. Since you have that profound yin qi, I’ll just take it and make you my cauldron!”

Suddenly, the demoness said to Gu Han, “Use the Soul Annihilation technique you used against me before! Its nature is similar to mine. Ordinary attack methods are completely useless against it!”

Gu Han’s eyes lit up. Soul Annihilation?

Without hesitation, he flickered and instantly arrived before the green wisp.

The green wisp sneered incessantly. “What Soul Annihilation?! Brat, looks like you haven’t experienced my power yet!”

Gu Han just stared at it. “Soul! Annihilation!”

A dark gleam flashed in his eyes. His spirit perception guided his soul power, transforming it into an inexplicable attack that landed on the green wisp.

A miserable shriek rang out! The green wisp started billowing green smoke.

As it trembled, it tried to flee into the distance. “W-what the hell is this?!”

The demoness’ eyes lit up with dark glints, and an invisible barrier of soul power enveloped the surroundings. The green smoke crashed left and right, unable to escape.

With a sinister laugh, Gu Han landed before it and activated the Soul Annihilation technique again. “Again!”

Amid a flurry of miserable screams, the green smoke had almost completely shrunk.

“I was wrong! Spare me, spare me please!”

It trembled in fear, begging for mercy nonstop, completely losing its previous arrogant demeanor. One more time and it would really be gone.

Gu Han glanced at it. “Kneel!”

The green wisp twisted and writhed, seeming somewhat troubled. “I... I have no hands or feet, how... how can I kneel...?”

“Hehe, Soul—”

The green smoke trembled uncontrollably. “No, no, no! Kneel, kneel! I kneel!”

It coiled and twisted, transforming into a half-cun tall little figure that knelt before Gu Han. “Spare me!”

“Call me daddy!”

“Daddy, spare me!” The little figure didn’t hesitate, then repeatedly bowed and kowtowed at the demoness. “Mommy, spare me! I know what I did wrong!”

The demoness’ face reddened. For some reason, experiencing all those illusions seemed to subtly change her state of mind, restoring some sense of herself. Hearing the little figure call her that now made her somewhat shy, but Gu Han didn’t notice the demoness’ odd behavior.

Gu Han demanded, “Talk. What are you?”

He wanted to learn more from the green wisp, who seemed to have been here for quite a while.

The little figure kowtowed again. “Daddy, as you can see, I’m just an Illusory Demon!”

Gu Han sneered coldly. “Is that so? A formless, indestructible Illusory Demon?”

The little figure trembled, chattering incessantly, “Daddy, please understand! Those kinds of Illusory Demons have cultivated to the pinnacle of existence. It’s uncertain if they even exist. I lack the skill and haven’t cultivated deeply. I can only create illusions to fool people. Didn’t you easily break them...?”

Illusory Demons only had one ability. When someone’s mental defenses weaken, they would sneak in and steal their memories, creating various illusions to confuse the opponent. These illusions were also their cultivation resources. The more the opponent indulged in them, the greater the benefit it could obtain.

Just like earlier, although the demoness’ skill far exceeded its own, she couldn’t extricate herself from the illusions and was instead manipulated by them.

When the Illusory Demon path was cultivated to the extreme, it became formless and indestructible. The conjured illusions were also nearly impossible to distinguish from reality. However, living things rarely appeared within this Dragon Seal.

Even though the little figure had transformed into an Illusory Demon, it had no way to cultivate. At last, it encountered Gu Han and the demoness. For the first time in its life, it used its abilities, only for them to be easily foiled.

Gu Han caught the discrepancy in its words. “You weren’t an Illusory Demon before?”

The little figure shook its head repeatedly. “No! I was also a human cultivator before. But once, when I was... ahem, I fell into the hands of a guy named Yun Qi, who locked me in here. You know, there isn’t a trace of spirit qi or life force in here.

“No matter how high my cultivation level was, I couldn’t hold on. Fortunately, I had obtained a secret technique and transformed myself into an Illusory Demon, which allowed me to survive.”

Gu Han appeared thoughtful. Yun Qi?

Although no one had told him, he had vaguely guessed that Yun Ao, the War Prince, and the Flame Emperor came from the same lineage. Yun Qi was likely their ancestor.

The little figure seemed dejected. “Yun Qi seemed to be an extremely rare descendant of the Dragon Ancestor. Not only was he strong, but he also had this supreme treasure. What rotten luck, truly rotten luck...”

Gu Han was somewhat surprised. “Does the Dragon Ancestor have descendants?”

Not only was he aware of the legends of the Dragon Ancestor, but he had also witnessed the War Prince and the Flame Emperor in action. Initially, he thought it was due to special techniques and divine abilities. He never expected they were actually descendants of the Dragon Ancestor!

The demoness said softly, “Yes. Although the Dragon Ancestor vanished countless years ago, rumors say he did leave behind bloodline descendants. But this clan rarely appears in the world, so ordinary people never see them...”

The little figure gave a thumbs up. “You’re well-learned and knowledgeable! I admire you greatly!”

Gu Han said nothing. The Flame Emperor’s lineage, including Yun Ao, are all descendants of the Dragon Ancestor. Then what about Feng Xi? Is she also a descendant of the Dragon Ancestor? How could that be?!
