Chapter 158 - As the Young Master, I Command Yang Ying to Kill Gu Han

It wasn’t just them. The rest, who were locked in a chaotic battle, all stopped their attacks as well. Although not much time had passed, everyone was bloodstained, their eyes nearly red from the killing.

Not far away, over ten people arrived before the group, led by Yuan Gang and Chu Kuang.

Meng Xing’s heart sank. “Yuan Gang, are you trying to meddle?”

Given that Yuan Gang and Murong Yuan belonged to the same sect, his intervention was understandable. Moreover, because of Luo Wushuang, they dared not touch Yuan Gang. The rest of the Qingyun Pavilion members be damned.

Yuan Gang said calmly, “Brother Meng, I’m merely here to watch the show. You may proceed as you intended.”

No one believed Yuan Gang’s words.

Murong Yan flew into rage. “Yuan Gang, what are you insinuating here?! What exactly do you want?”

However, Yuan Gang paid no heed to her, his gaze fixed on Gu Han. “Did you see that? No matter where you go, your arrogance and recklessness brings endless disaster. This incident is a lesson.”

Gu Han icily shot back. “So? You’re lecturing me?”

Yuan Gang shook his head. “No, I just want you to understand your limits and act with more restraint.”

Gu Han laughed coldly. “According to your logic, if they bully me, I should just let them? If they want to kill me, I should kneel and beg for mercy? And if they refuse, I should obediently stick out my neck? Who’s being unreasonable here?”

Yuan Gang instantly turned cold.

His companions turned hostile, killing intent flickering in their eyes.

“How audacious!”

“Impudent!”

“Who gave you the courage to speak to Senior Brother Yuan like that!”

Murong Yan was full of disdain. “He’s just Luo Wushuang’s lackey! What airs are you putting on!”

“You—”

Chu Kuang’s face went grim as he sharply rebuked them, “Silence!”

Not a single noise followed.

Then, Chu Kuang turned to Gu Han. “Like I said, you have some luck. A prodigy like you dying here would be such a waste. It should be obvious to you that this killing tribulation was premeditated. Do you think you can escape it?”

Gu Han asked in return. “Your point is?”

Chu Kuang was filled with arrogance. “Submit to me and follow my rules! In return, I’ll protect you and grant you countless, immense fortunes. I’ll even kindly resolve the trouble you face today! Well, consider it. This is your final chance!”

Upon hearing this, all eyes turned to Gu Han all at once. Meng Xing and Yang Lin became gloomy. If Gu Han agreed, the two of them could not withstand a joint attack from so many people. Perhaps, they would have to resort to a certain method.

“Do you know how irritating you sound just now? Also, submit to you?” Gu Han stared directly into Chu Kuang’s eyes, treating him like a fool. “Have you beaten me?”

Gu Han’s uncompromising tone silenced Chu Kuang. A moment later, he sighed. “Forget it. Senior Brother Yuan, let’s go! He may have talent, but as you mentioned, he’s reckless and unbearably arrogant. I shouldn’t have held any hope for him.”

Yuan Gang waved his hand. “It doesn’t matter. In this world, the one thing we don’t lack is talent. But those who survive to the end are less than one in a hundred. He’s far too unruly. If he joins, he’ll only create chaos, doing more harm than good.”

Murong Yan glared, wide-eyed. “Yuan Gang, if it weren’t for those two bastards today, I’d pound you to death!”

Yuan Gang didn’t even look at her. “Hmph. Focus on surviving first. Let’s go.”

The group gradually retreated. Meng Xing and Yang Lin secretly breathed sighs of relief. It was the best possible outcome for them.

However, in the next moment, Yuan Gang frowned deeply. “Hmm? Junior Brother Yang, did you not hear my words?”

It turned out Yang Ying remained in place, silent and unmoving, his eyes filled with struggle.

Gu Han sighed. “Brother Yang, leave. You know my strength best. Don’t get involved in this matter.”

Murong Yan unusually remained silent. If Yang Ying took action, it would be equal to completely betraying the Yang family. The consequences went without saying.

Seeing that Yang Ying still wouldn’t move, Yuan Gang’s tone turned cutting. “Junior Brother Yang, come with—”

Suddenly, Yang Lin cut him off. “Hold on. Yang Ying, I haven’t seen you for some time. You have grown quite bold, haven’t you? You don’t even know how to show respect?”

“Young... Master,” said Yang Ying, nearly squeezing the words from between his teeth.

Yang Lin laughed. “Apparently, you haven’t forgotten your status! You seem quite close to him?”

Yang Ying said nothing.

Yang Lin glanced at Gu Han, his smile somewhat sadistic. “Then, I order you to join me in killing him!”

Yang Ying trembled violently.

Murong Yan lost it. “What?! You shameless bastard! I’ll pound you to death!”

Gu Han’s killing intent surged wildly. “Go to hell!”

Yuan Gang was displeased. “Brother Yang Lin, he is a member of the Qingyun Pavilion!”

Meng Xing said unhurriedly, “Brother Yuan, don’t forget what you promised us. This is not the Yuqing Sect. Moreover, he is a Yang family clansman, so he must obey the young master. As you just said, this person is unruly. You should thank us for eliminating him!”

Yuan Gang said nothing, feeling somewhat tempted.

Chu Kuang burst out laughing. “If that’s the case, Senior Brother Yuan, we should avoid meddling too much in others’ family matters.”

Yuan Gang nodded. “I guess so. Still, it all depends on Yang Ying’s choice in the end.”

Chu Kuang threw Gu Han a glance. “Now that’s the power of someone with status. How can you resist it by relying solely on rash courage?”

Gu Han was expressionless, his killing intent more intense than ever before. “Status my ass!”

Still, Yang Ying didn’t budge.

Yang Lin sneered. “Oh, disobeying orders now?!”

At last, Yang Ying said, “I cannot do as you say. He has shown me kindness.”

Yang Lin suddenly understood and laughed. “It seems that your bond is deeper than I imagined! In that case, it’s even better. Alright then, I’ll promise you this: if you do as I say, I will let your mother leave the Yang family. I also guarantee that from now on, no Yang family member will dare trouble you or your sister again. How about it? Can you believe the deal for something this simple?”

With each word he said, Yang Ying paled further. Each word pierced his heart. The fury in Shen Xuan and Murong Yan’s eyes was almost tangible. They knew Yang Lin was deliberately trying to humiliate Gu Han.

Meanwhile, Gu Han remained silent. He understood Yang Ying well and knew how tempting the promise was for him.

Sure enough, Yang Ying asked again, his voice incredibly hoarse, “Do you mean what you said?”

“I give you my word,” Yang Lin replied.

Murong Yan’s eyes widened. “Yang guy, what do you think you’re doing?! Do you want to turn your back on Brother Gu’s kindness?! What happened to loyalty?!”

Shen Xuan’s heart sank. “Junior Brother Yang, you must think this through carefully!”

Chu Kuang was full of emotion. “It must’ve stung to be betrayed by someone you trust!”

Yuan Gang snorted coldly. “Hmph. He brought this upon himself!”

Yang Ying still didn’t move, but his aura was steadily climbing.

Gu Han felt complicated. He knew that Yang Ying had made his choice.

In the next moment, Yang Ying’s aura instantly surged to its peak. “I am sorry.”

A spear over three zhang long suddenly appeared in his hand. With indomitable will, his aura pressed forth, his figure almost turning into an afterimage as he charged into the battlefield.
