Chapter 1329: Chapter 1330: The Miserable Elixir Room Disciples! (1st Update)

Speaking of the profession of Alchemists, people’s first impression is usually of those relatively gentle-looking, elegant middle-aged men, or perhaps those elders with white hair and youthful faces.

Even on worse terms, one might picture someone like Ling Feng, a young alchemy genius looking extremely youthful.

However, an alchemist built like a mountain, strong as an ox truly subverts expectations.

This guy, is he really a serious alchemist?

Ling Feng’s mouth slightly twitched; seeing the explosive brute force from this person, he somewhat understood why people considered this place a demon cave.

Getting punched by this monster could make one question life, leaving no energy to complete tasks.

Ling Feng glanced around; all he saw were disciples tormented to the brink of death, each one frail and worn, as if a gust of wind would knock them down.

It’s hard to imagine what kind of ordeal they usually endure!

”You’re the newbie, aren’t you?”

Master Ye’s giant palm, like a fan, slapped Ling Feng’s shoulder twice, originally thinking Ling Feng would be knocked to the ground, but unexpectedly the kid stood firmly, directly meeting his gaze without the slightest fear or dodge.

”Hmm, this time we’ve got an interesting kid!”

Master Ye’s mouth curled into a sneer, nodding and casually saying, ”Alright, Manager Sun Pei, you can leave now, I’ll properly train this kid!”

”Then I’ll leave.”

Manager Sun secretly sweated for Ling Feng, thinking the kid is doomed with his tough bones!

”Hey kid, what’s your name?”

Master Ye stared at Ling Feng, eyes bulging like bells, making Ling Feng completely uncomfortable.

”Ling Feng!”

Ling Feng took a deep breath and replied neither arrogantly nor humbly.

”I am Ye Xiong.”

Ye Xiong beckoned to a disciple beside him and casually said, ”Luu Yu, take this newbie around to familiarize him with the daily tasks. You have one hour, after which work begins.”

”Yes!”

The Outer Disciple named Luu Yu shuddered at Ye Xiong’s gaze and quickly ran over to Ling Feng, saying in a deep voice, ”Ling...Junior Brother Ling, please follow me!”

”Mm.”

Ling Feng nodded, following Luu Yu to a warehouse behind.

”Junior Brother Ling, our Earth Realm’s Elixir Ding Hall is primarily for refining Divine Condensing Pills and Spirit Nourishing Pills needed for Outer Disciples’ daily cultivation. Given the enormous quantity required each month, success rate and efficiency are prioritized.”

”The alchemists of the Elixir Ding Hall, with disciples’ help, strive to refine more elixirs daily, thus from material processing, refining to extraction are all tasks for disciples. The alchemists only need to focus on fire control, which boosts efficiency greatly.”

While explaining, Luu Yu took some herbs from the shelves, identifying each for Ling Feng.

Ling Feng just listened, thinking: this method certainly favors mass production of elixirs, but ordinary martial artists differ in familiarity with the herbs’ age and refining techniques. Even if alchemists of decent caliber refine them, the final quality of the elixirs won’t be significantly high.

”Here are the recipes for Divine Condensing Pill and Spirit Nourishing Pill; I’ll help you memorize them quickly.”

Luu Yu glanced at Ling Feng and said seriously, ”If you don’t want a beating, you better remember the recipes and characteristics of each herb well. Master Ye has strict requirements for materials. If there’s a problem with age or freshness, the consequences for us will be miserable.”

”Mm.”

Ling Feng nodded; he could refine these elixirs with his eyes closed, no need for others to teach him identification.

About an hour later, seeing Ling Feng memorized the recipes, Luu Yu continued, ”Besides identifying herbs, the second step is refining the medicinal properties and extracting impurities. Master Ye devised a simplified extraction method, that even non-alchemists can quickly master. I’ll demonstrate three times; if anything is unclear, speak up.”

Luu Yu seemed distinctly afraid of Master Ye, explaining each step thoroughly, fearing Ling Feng’s mistakes would implicate him.

”Lastly, after refining elixirs, the accumulated furnace ash must be cleaned daily.”

Ling Feng nodded; with such repetitive refining, ignoring the ash could affect the refining success rate.

”Alright, I’ve memorized everything.”

Ling Feng smiled slightly at Luu Yu and said, ”Thank you, Brother Luu.”

”Junior Brother Ling, heed my advice: don’t ever show a lazy or relaxed attitude here. Smiling, for us, is too extravagant.”

Ling Feng shrugged; just then, a thunderous voice came from outside, ”Hey, are you done inside? Hurry and bring out the prepared herbs!”

”Yes!”

Luu Yu trembled and quickly grabbed a tray of herbs, rushing out.

However, even hurrying out as quickly as he did, Master Ye still cursed, ”You waste, I gave you an hour, yet you wasted an extra thirty breaths. After today’s tasks, stay back for thirty lashes!”

”Yes...”

Luu Yu, already tormented into submission, could only shiver and endure silently.

”Where’s the newbie?”

Ye Xiong, eyes flashing, watched Ling Feng slowly walk out from the warehouse, looking leisurely.

”Kid, do you know you wasted another thirty breaths?”

Ye Xiong’s brow furrowed, staring at Ling Feng, ”You’ll stay back today for thirty lashes too!”

Ling Feng pursed his lips and casually said, ”I’m here to help with refining elixirs, not to get beaten. If I complete the task smoothly, on what grounds would you hit me?”

”Hmm?”

Ye Xiong’s bell-sized eyes bulged, his aura pressing down as he asked, ”Kid, what did you say?”

Nearby Luu Yu and other disciples shivered, astonished at Ling Feng: Is this kid really tired of living?

Only Ling Feng stood firm, loudly declaring, ”I don’t like repeating my words twice!”

”Hahaha! You seem very confident in yourself! Good, good!”

Ye Xiong laughed uproariously, ”Alright kid, you handle these herbs! A single mistake, and I’ll flay you!”

”Fine!”

Ling Feng strode forward, directly approaching the pill furnace, raising his brows with a smile, ”Master Ye, you better watch carefully!”
