Chapter 1001: Chapter 1002: Ling Feng’s Tactics! (4 Updates)

After a while, Ling Feng carefully combed through the memory of the Demon Clan assassin and extracted information about the number of Demons entrenched around the Black Water Plain and the location of their den.

With this information, the Human Clan army would no longer be passive and could take the initiative to launch a tactical assault directly at the lairs of those Water Element Demon Clan.

Ling Feng’s preliminary plan was to plant a camp right on the banks of those Water Element Demon Clan lairs, forcing the Demons out of the rivers for direct confrontation. Considering the elite standards of the Black Armored Cavalry Army, he believed it wouldn’t take long to completely eradicate the batch of Demons entrenched at Black Water Plain.

Early the next day, Ling Feng issued orders to advance at full speed, ensuring arrival at the southwestern corner of the Black Water River region by noon to pitch camp adjacent to the Demon Clan.

This way, once the Demon Clan sets foot ashore, any move they make would definitely not escape the eyes of the Human Clan army.

This kind of absolutely reckless tactic, perhaps only Ling Feng dared to use it so boldly.

At noon, a mighty army of over two hundred thousand men pitched a camp less than a hundred feet from the banks of the Black Water River, constructing defensive fortifications, with thirty thousand Black Armored Cavalry Army guarding the camp perimeter, eliminating any concern about sudden assaults from the Water Clan Demon beasts.

Despite the bewilderment regarding Ling Feng’s decision, the soldiers could only execute the orders strictly.

...

At the bottom of the Black Water River.

Inside the Crystal Hall of the Black Flood Dragon Clan, the Elders of the Black Flood Dragon Clan were all as anxious as ants on a hot pan, pacing disorderly around the hall.

”Damn it, those Human Clan are audacious, setting up camp right on our riverbanks!”

”This is simply naked provocation!”

”Damn it, I really want to know how our Crystal Palace got exposed? Or is it just coincidence?”

Watching the elders curse non-stop, the Black Jiao Demon King frowned, angrily said, ”Shui Yecha, the Water Demon Assassins you sent out yesterday, have they returned?”

Shui Yecha clenched his fist tightly, gritting his teeth, ”Chief, the three assassins sent last night to the enemy’s camp did not return. I’m afraid...”

Shui Yecha took a deep breath, speaking with resentment, ”I’m afraid all of them failed and got captured.”

”What? Not even one managed to escape?”

The Black Jiao Demon King’s face grew even more grave. Such an occurrence in previous assassinations had never happened before.

”Is it possible that those assassins exposed our location? Otherwise, how could those damn humans have found us!” one of the Black Flood Dragon elders said in a low voice.

”Nonsense, the Water Demon Assassins I’ve trained, none of them fears death. Once the mission fails, they’ll immediately take poison and die!”

Shui Yecha glared viciously at that elder, saying, ”They absolutely cannot have exposed our Crystal Palace location to the enemy!”

”Hmph, if they didn’t expose it, then who else could have? Could it be someone here?”

The elder, unwilling to show weakness, retorted sharply.

”Enough!” The Black Jiao Demon King smacked the throne and yelled angrily, ”Stop arguing, act with decorum! Is this the time for bickering and mutual suspicion?”

The Black Jiao Demon King’s eyes glittered coldly, speaking in a chilling tone, ”We cannot let the Human Clan’s camp successfully establish itself, otherwise our clan will completely lose initiative. With the available forces, we’re insufficient to engage the Human Clan head-on, especially considering that they have elite troops like the Black Armored Cavalry Army!”

”So Clan Chief, what do you propose we do?”

All the Black Flood Dragon elders looked sharply at the Black Jiao Demon King.

”Shui Yecha, take five thousand Water Clan soldiers and launch a surprise attack on the Human Clan camp from the right side, only to sow chaos, avoid direct confrontation!”

The Black Jiao Demon King finished speaking, casting a glance at the elder who had just argued with Shui Yecha, continuing, ”Elder Hei Bing, you bring five thousand Water Clan soldiers to harass the Human Clan camp from the left side; similar to Shui Yecha, make sure to create unrest, then retreat yourself! I refuse to believe it, that these Human Clan indeed dare to camp at the doorstep of my Black Flood Dragon Clan!”

”Yes!”

Shui Yecha and Hei Bing simultaneously nodded, quickly leaving the hall to assemble troops for battle.

In the hall, the Black Jiao Demon King wore a heavy expression.

He had tangled with quite a few Human Clan commanders, but none had ever camped directly at his own doorstep on the first day of arriving.

This arrogant Human Clan commander, he encountered for the first time.

”No matter what, we must drive those damn Humans away from the riverbank before the reinforcements from the Scaled Demon Clan arrive, or the Scaled Demon Clan’s dames will look down on us!”

The Black Jiao Demon King snorted coldly, after all, dishonor is trivial, but reputation is paramount!

Being blockaded at one’s own doorstep by the Human Clan, where could he put his old face later!

...

”Splash!”

Accompanied by the sound of breaking water, a massive army of Water Clan Demon beasts wielded their weapons and roared as they charged toward the Human Clan camp.

The soldiers in the midst of setting up camp immediately panicked, each stopping their work to prepare weapons for battle.

”Continue pitching camp!”

Ling Feng jumped to a high place and shouted loudly, ”No one is allowed to stop, it’s merely the enemy’s harassment tactic, no need to be concerned! This General has long arranged this!”

The soldiers looked at each other, considering General Ling too composed.

Ling Feng flew straight to the outermost area of the camp, shouting loudly, ”Huo Yuanyi! Xu Zhongda! Each of you leads ten thousand Black Armored Cavalry Army to form a phalanx, intercept those Water Clan. If they want a fight, go head-to-head! If they don’t fight, chase them back into the river!”

”Yes!”

Generals Huo and Xu had long received Ling Feng’s orders, waiting for the Water Clan to deliver themselves.

Just as Ling Feng had anticipated, when they camped in this area, they were bound to face harassment from the Water Clan. Using this opportunity, he’d deploy the Black Armored Cavalry Army to exhaust the opponent’s morale!

”Charge!”

In the next moment, amidst the Human Clan ranks, two imposing armies surged like massive dark clouds crushing forward, while inside Ling Feng’s camp, all soldiers continued systematically to pitch the camp and construct defensive installations.

Once the camp was completely constructed, driving away the Water Clan demon beasts would become even more difficult.

”Get out! Retreat! Quick, retreat!!”

Seeing twice the number of Black Armored Cavalry Army troopers advancing, the Water Clan army was taken aback.

The highest commander of the Human Clan, was he a parasite in the chief’s belly? Completely knowing the chief’s thoughts, already having the optimal countermeasures prepared.

Consequently, everyone witnessed, those Water Clan who just leapt out from the Black Water River, suddenly all plunged back in like dumplings.

Huo Yuanyi and Xu Zhongda commanded the troops to withdraw back to guard the camp perimeter instead of pursuing further.
