Chaos Heavenly Emperor Technique

Chapter 284: Chapter 284 Mysterious Reward!

”Vice Dean Tong!”

A group of instructors and tutors bowed respectfully to the elderly man, neither negligent nor disrespectful.

Following that, students from various levels and courtyards also promptly paid their respects, for a figure of the Vice Dean’s stature was indeed among the giants at the pinnacle of Heavenly Position Academy.

While they were all geniuses among geniuses, they had to show utmost respect in front of such a pillar-level powerhouse.

Respect was respect, but Ling Feng couldn’t help feeling somewhat disdainful inside.

This old guy, he was truly no good bird; if it weren’t for Yan Cangtian standing up for him, hmph!

”It seems that everyone has arrived.”

Tong Chengtai glanced over the crowd below and said slowly, ”Every year, the beast hunting competition brings forth a batch of talents. This year is the same, and the prosperity of our Heavenly Position Academy today is all thanks to the joint efforts of all instructors and students...”

Tong Chengtai rattled on with a bunch of formalities before finally getting to the main point.

”Okay, let’s present the awards to the outstanding students. Would the top ten A-class Disciples please step forward.”

Ten imposing students stepped up briskly to the front of the stage.

Among these ten, Ling Feng also spotted the figure of Ye Nanfeng.

After all, being a member of the East Courtyard Sword Team and entering the top ten wasn’t surprising.

”The top three students, each to receive one million Heavenly Position Points! From third to tenth, five hundred thousand!”

”Earth Character Disciples in the top ten, step forward, the top three get three hundred thousand Heavenly Position Points! From third to tenth, one hundred thousand!”

”Xuan Character Disciples, the top three receive fifty thousand Heavenly Position Points! From third to tenth, thirty thousand!”

”Yellow Character Disciples, the top three receive ten thousand Heavenly Position Points! From third to tenth, five thousand!”

Apparently, the top ten students from each rank were awarded Heavenly Position Points, and while it was no surprise, it remained the most practical possession within Heavenly Position Academy.

For example, the ”Yuan Condensing Elixir,” greatly beneficial for the cultivation of a Martial Artist in Magnetic Condensation Realm, would roughly cost one hundred Heavenly Position Points. Ordinary Yellow Character Disciples didn’t have many means of earning Heavenly Position Points, so this award of ten thousand points was definitely a boon for them.

However, for Ling Feng, it was hardly worth mentioning.

Of course, the rewards for the top ten newly promoted students were what really mattered next.

”Next are the awards for the top ten newly promoted students!” Tong Chengtai took out a list and slowly read: ”First place, Jun Moxie!”

”Second place, Lin Xiu!”

”...”

”Eighth place, Ye Nanfeng!”

”Ninth place, Chen Xuan!”

”Tenth place, Ling Feng!”

”All these ten individuals will get the chance to enter the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower!”

As soon as Tong Chengtai finished speaking, the crowd of instructors and high-level students exploded into excitement.

”The Wind and Thunder Sword Tower! I can’t believe it’s an opportunity to enter the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower this time!”

”That is indeed a stroke of good fortune; the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower is the treasured artifact of the Ancient Yijian Sect, hahaha...”

Ling Feng, however, knew nothing about what the Yijian Sect or the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower were, and he couldn’t help frowning slightly.

Seeing Ling Feng’s expression, Su Qingxuan turned her head and softly explained, ”Thousands of years ago, the Yijian Sect was the most famous sect in the entire East Spirit Domain. However, the seventh Sect Leader suddenly betrayed the righteous path, turned into a demon, wielded a Divine Weapon and slaughtered all the sect’s disciples, staining the mountains of Yijian Sect with blood. Since then, the Yijian Sect has ceased to exist.”

”The Wind and Thunder Sword Tower is the treasure of the Yijian Sect, each level contains immeasurable treasures. If one can find even a sliver of opportunity within the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower, it would greatly benefit their Martial Arts career!”

”So, that’s the case,” Ling Feng nodded slightly, ”Then, what does this have to do with our Heavenly Position Academy?”

”Hehe!” Leng Jianfeng couldn’t help but interject, ”Kid, you really are ignorant!”

”Oh?” Ling Feng looked up at Leng Jianfeng and said indifferently, ”I would like to hear more.”

”Haha, we have to thank the third dean of our Heavenly Position Academy for this,” Leng Jianfeng laughed heartily. ”After the Yijian Sect was destroyed and turned into a haunted land, ordinary Martial Artists wouldn’t dare to go near it. However, the deans of the Four Great Imperial Colleges joined forces and forcefully broke into the heart of that haunted land, connecting the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower to the outside through a transmission channel. Thus, every ten years, each of the Four Great Universities can send a batch of students to seek opportunities in the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower.”

”It turns out that this year marks the next ten-year period. You’re in luck to have caught up with this opportunity,” Leng Jianfeng patted Ling Feng on the shoulder, ”Kid, if you can make it to the ninth floor, that would be quite the feat.”

”Oh?” Ling Feng pursed his lips, ”Did Instructor Leng ever enter the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower?”

”Yes, alas, I only made it to the sixth floor. The subsequent levels... damn, they’re brutally tough!”

Leng Jianfeng sighed, still feeling the aftereffects of his experiences in the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower.

”Nevertheless, I still have high hopes for you, seeing as you were personally trained by me, Leng Jianfeng, haha...”

Ling Feng touched his nose, thinking to himself that when it came to shamelessness, he acknowledged only Leng Jianfeng!

”Alright, everyone, please quiet down.”

Vice Dean Tong’s expression turned serious as he slowly said, ”Time is short. Apart from our Heavenly Position Academy, True Dragon Academy, Sea Blue Academy, and Wenyuan Academy will also each send ten students. I hope everyone can perform at their best and not let down the prestige of our Heavenly Position Academy!”

”Yes!”

Everyone shouted in unison, their voices strong and resolute!

In such a situation, there was no need for Vice Dean Tong to say more. No one would show weakness in front of students from other colleges.

”Very good!” Vice Dean Tong nodded in satisfaction, ”You ten, follow me to the Thousand Mechanism Pavilion. I will personally activate the transmission channel!”

Just then, Chen Xuan, the Earth Character Disciple who had secured the ninth rank among all the new students, suddenly stepped forward and bowed, ”Vice Dean, I am willing to give my ninth position to Yellow Character Disciple Lee Bufan!”

”Um?”

At this declaration, countless gazes suddenly turned toward Chen Xuan.

Having struggled so hard to obtain one of the top ten positions, to willingly hand over such a precious opportunity to Lee Bufan?

However, upon deeper thought, this was not an inconceivable matter.

Lee Bufan, as a son of the Grand Commandant’s Mansion, possessed a family background and status far beyond ordinary students.

It wouldn’t be difficult for Lee Taixu to covertly bribe this Chen Fan to let his opportunity pass to Lee Bufan.

After all, entering the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower still involved the risks of seeking fortunes, but with a move from Lee Taixu, it meant endless amounts of gold and treasures.

Chen Xuan apparently couldn’t resist such temptations.

Lee Bufan clenched his fists tightly. With his intelligence, how could he not guess that this was all arranged by his family?

Though it didn’t meet his pride, the chance offered by the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower wasn’t something he wanted to give up easily.

”Father, I won’t thank you for arranging this!”

Lee Bufan’s eyes flashed with anger. Yet, watching Ling Feng possibly gain fortunes in the Wind and Thunder Sword Tower, which would likely leave him far behind in the future, made him reluctantly accept the arrangement.

”Oh? Is that so?” Vice Dean Tong, being old and astute, certainly knew this was Lee Taixu’s doing. He nodded slightly and said indifferently, ”Well then, since you voluntarily withdraw, I permit it.”

”Thank you, Vice Dean.”

Chen Fan nodded with a smile. One spot in the Thunder Sword Tower, in exchange for the reemployment of the Grand Commandant’s Mansion, was worth it!
