3: Chapter 003: The Blood of the Emperor, Ling Feng’s Origins!

Ling Kun had no idea how long it had been before he finally came to, the pungent smell of blood making him involuntarily furrow his brows.

Corpses were strewn everywhere, blood flowed like rivers!

The entire Su Family had almost turned into a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood.

Ling Kun’s eyelids twitched wildly as he hurriedly got up from the ground, his hands trembling, “Emperor’s Eye, heavens above, has he truly awakened the Emperor’s Eye?”

Ling Kun rushed into the Su Family compound.

The heavy rain poured down but couldn’t wash away the thick stench of blood.

Ling Feng sat atop a pile of dead bodies, his gaze vacant as he mechanically repeated, “Kill…

Kill…

Kill…”

“Feng’er!” Ling Kun burst into tears as he threw himself toward Ling Feng, “Child, the bad people are dead, all the bad people are dead!

You mustn’t kill anymore!

No more killing!”

“Grandfather…” Ling Feng’s eyes regained a trace of clarity, as the vertical pupil on his forehead finally closed.

“Grandfather!

You’re not dead!”

Ling Feng struggled to raise his right hand and took the Golden Needle from his head, a strong sense of weakness sweeping over him.

No strength comes from nowhere.

When that vertical pupil was opened, although Ling Feng seemed to possess endless strength, it was all exchanged for by stimulating his Life Force with the Golden Needle.

If he continued to keep the vertical pupil open, his Life Force would rapidly be overdrawn, until death.

“Child, my poor child!” Ling Kun began to sob loudly, “It’s all grandfather’s fault.

If it were not for grandfather’s desire for enjoyment, you wouldn’t have encountered the City Lord and his daughter, nor would you have awakened the Emperor’s Eye.

It’s all my fault, all my fault!”

“Grandfather, you’re not dead, that’s…

that’s wonderful…” Ling Feng was already too weak to even open his eyes, his vision darkened and he finally passed out.

“I will take you away!

I will take you out of here!”

Ling Kun clenched his teeth, helped Ling Feng up, climbed down from the pile of corpses, shouldered an inconspicuous medicine box, and step by step, laboriously walked out of Kaiyang City.

Each step left a bloody footprint!

Perhaps the thunder was really too loud, thus that bloody night went by without anyone hearing even the slightest noise.

The next day, when a passerby happened to walk past the City Lord Mansion, they were horrified to discover that over a hundred people in the City Lord Mansion had all met with a violent death!

Every corpse had claw marks that resembled the mauling of a wild animal, inconceivable to be the work of a human.

Consequently, the story spread that the City Lord Mansion was exterminated by an unknown Demon, and the entirety of Kaiyang City began to go into martial law to prevent the terrifying “Demon” from breaking into Kaiyang City again.

…

Ling Feng eventually opened his eyes after an indeterminate amount of time, each and every muscle in his body felt as though it had been torn apart.

Pain!

A pain so intense that it felt unbearable to live!

“Feng’er, are you awake?” came grandfather’s gentle voice to his ears.

Ling Feng looked around and finally locked onto Ling Kun’s figure.

He could see again, he really could see again!

“Feng’er, are you feeling better?” Ling Kun brought over a bowl of thin porridge and said softly, “You’ve been unconscious for half a month now.

Come on, have some porridge.”

Ling Feng nodded slightly, remembering that bloody night, even he himself felt a sense of fear.

Was the monster that only knew how to slaughter really me?

“Grandpa…”

Ling Feng drank a mouthful of watery porridge and fixed his gaze on Ling Kun, his voice grave, “Grandpa, are you hiding something from me?

You’ve been talking about the Emperor’s Eye, what exactly is that?”

“I had originally thought that I could keep this secret for a lifetime,” Ling Kun clenched his fist as tears welled in his eyes, “I thought that your Emperor’s Eye would never be opened.”

“Grandpa, what are you talking about?

Please tell me, I want to know everything!” Ling Feng’s emotions were somewhat agitated.

After all, who could remain calm upon discovering they could turn into such a monster?

“Perhaps it’s all fate,” Ling Kun sighed deeply, “Once your Emperor’s Eye has been opened for the first time, there will be a second and third time.

If I don’t tell you, it would actually harm you.”

Ling Feng stared at his grandfather, listening quietly.

“I am not your grandfather!

In fact, I am merely an old servant by your grandfather’s side,” Ling Kun took a deep breath and slowly said: “Feng’er, your parents had to leave you right after you were born for some reason, so they could only leave you with the old master.”

“However, the old master also passed away due to a serious illness when you were only one year old.

After that, he entrusted you to me.”

“Before the old master passed away, he told me that you have a special bloodline within you called the Blood of the Emperor.

Once stimulated and with the Golden Needle used to pierce your acupoints, it will unleash the Emperor’s Eye and a fierce nature!”

“Blood of the Emperor?

Emperor’s Eye?”

Countless thoughts flashed through Ling Feng’s mind, and he had a faint feeling that his parents’ departure and his grandfather’s death might be related to this Blood of the Emperor.

“What is the Blood of the Emperor?” Ling Feng asked sternly.

“The old master only told me that the Emperor is the Son of the Heavenly Dao.”

Ling Kun paused, then slowly continued: “The old master instructed that if you ultimately opened the Emperor’s Eye, I should tell you that the secret of your origin is hidden within the two volumes of the Supreme Mysterious Acupuncture Scripture.”

“Two volumes of the Supreme Mysterious Acupuncture Scripture?” Ling Feng was slightly startled, “Is there a second volume of the Supreme Mysterious Acupuncture Scripture in this world?”

“Yes,” Ling Kun nodded, “The old master once told me that he had placed the medical book with the Eastern Capital Yan Family.

However, since the old master’s death, our Ling Family has fallen into decline, and we, grandfather and grandson, can only wander around practicing medicine.

As for the Yan Family, they have long turned their backs on us and would never acknowledge the past.”

“Eastern Capital Yan Family?” Ling Feng suddenly remembered when he was young, Ling Kun had taken him to the Eastern Capital once, and after hastily going out on a trip, he returned injured, cursing and swearing, and it seemed he was cursing the people of the Yan Family.

“Feng’er, you have already opened the Emperor’s Eye, and only by stepping onto the path of Martial Arts, becoming a powerful Martial Artist, might you have a chance to know your full origin.”

“Step onto the path of Martial Arts?”

Ling Feng took a deep breath.

Over the years, he had wandered with his grandfather and had never cultivated Martial Arts.

His grandfather had also forbidden him from getting involved in Martial Arts.

Perhaps, he was afraid of triggering the opening of the Emperor’s Eye.

Cultivators wrest life from heaven, and it’s inevitable that they often face life-threatening dangers, thus naturally increasing the likelihood of triggering the Emperor’s Eye.

“Mm.

Opening the Emperor’s Eye rapidly depletes your life force, only by cultivating into a powerful Martial Artist can you avoid dying young due to its activation!”

“I understand.”

Ling Feng clenched his teeth, not only to survive but also for the second volume of the Supreme Mysterious Acupuncture Scripture, which held the mystery of his origin.

He had to retrieve it from the hands of the Eastern Capital Yan Family!

Ling Kun sighed, and slowly said: “Your grandfather was once hailed as the Medical Saint, the topmost physician in the world.

There’s no telling how many Martial Artists he has treated.

I think there might be a sect willing to take you in!”

“Perhaps,” Ling Feng gritted his teeth after what happened with Su Lin and her father, he realized just how ugly human nature could be.

Without status or position, how many people would consider past kindness?

No matter what, in the future, he must not trust others so easily, especially women!
