Resources are Monopolized, What Can I Do About My Unlimited Access Card?

Chapter 127 Card Making: Koromon, Unicorn[My name is Agumon, and I come from a world called Digimon.]

[From the moment I was born in the Ocean of Data, I was just a mass of chaotic light.]

My initial form was Botamon, a pitch-black larval stage without even limbs; my only means of self-defense was spitting weak acidic bubbles from my mouth.

That faint power couldn’t even blow away a single leaf of data, yet it supported me as I struggled to grow bit by bit in the dog-eat-dog Digital World.]

[One day, I encountered a Unicorn who wanted to seize my territory. I wouldn’t allow any beast to bully the subjects of my land, so we fought.]

[Perhaps it was mutual respect between the strong—at least, that’s how I see it. Unicorn and I became friends. He was very shy and timid, yet very brave, and together we protected the weak subjects in our territory.]

[But the darkness of the Digital World never leaves any breathing room for the weak.]

The day the evil Meramon descended was a nightmare I can never erase from my life.

He was wreathed in flames that destroyed everything. Wherever he went, data turned to Ash, grass became scorched earth, and even the air was distorted by the heat. He had no reason; he simply enjoyed the pleasure of slaughter and destruction.

Unicorn and I did everything we could to stop him. We spat out all our bubbles and charged with all our might, but in the face of absolute power, all resistance was futile.

Only Unicorn and I escaped. I am a coward; I failed to protect them.]

[I fell into a long period of self-reproach. Without even knowing when it happened, I swallowed a dark gear, but it didn’t seem to have any effect.]

[From then on, Unicorn and I became homeless wanderers in the Digital World.]

We traveled across shattered continents, passed through storms formed by data turbulence, and witnessed far too many scenes of the strong bullying the weak.

Powerful Digimon wantonly bullied larval stages, plundering their meager energy and destroying their remaining homes.

Every time I saw it, the suppressed rage in my heart would explode. It was hatred for Meramon, anger at my own incompetence, and loathing for all dark forces.

That rage would uncontrollably turn into an impulse to kill.

I began to grow increasingly bloodthirsty.

When I encountered evil beasts oppressing the weak, I no longer just drove them away as before; instead, I would ruthlessly crush them and make them pay with their lives.

What is happening to me...?]

[Until one day, after finishing off a strong enemy and before I could even catch my breath, a pillar of light reaching the sky appeared before my eyes. After the light vanished, a Digimon with a silly grin appeared in front of me. He said his name was Ash, and that he was a human, not a Digimon. What is a human?]

[Afterward, Unicorn and I became his partners. It sounds very cool.]

[We fought side-by-side with Ash and defeated my nemesis, Meramon. Unicorn and I then evolved into Agumon and Gabumon.]

[In the end, Gabumon, Ash, and I fought against dark forces like Devimon, Etemon, Myotismon, the Dark Masters, and finally Apocalymon. Gabumon and I eventually evolved into WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, and finally, with the support of Ash’s courage, we evolved into Omnimon... The dark forces were cleared, but why is the dark gear still inside me? What exactly does it do?] (Gabumon’s life was similar to Agumon’s, so I won’t write it.)

”Phew—”

Gu Ye let out a long breath of turbid air. His face was pale to the point of being nearly transparent, his forehead was covered in fine beads of cold sweat, and even his fingertips were trembling slightly.

Forcing a massive injection of spiritual psionic energy all at once while simultaneously deducing and constructing two complete Digimon cards had put an extreme mental load on him, nearly overdrawing the power from the depths of his soul.

Deep in his eyes, a faint but incredibly cold black light flickered from time to time—a sign of his corruption value skyrocketing.

”Making two at once is still a bit forced... but at least they were successfully completed.”

Gu Ye whispered to himself, raising his hand to firmly rub his throbbing brow, forcing down the waves of dizziness in his mind.

He knew very well that this method of directly using his own psionic energy to deduce the memories of living beings and construct cards was highly efficient, but it would cause his corruption value to soar.

”No, in the future, I should try to obtain card-making materials from the Furnace as much as possible. I can’t keep forcing deductions like this.”

Having my corruption value fluctuate so violently all the time is too disruptive and too dangerous.”

After making his decision, Gu Ye slowly opened his eyes and looked at the palm of his hand.

Two soft glimmers, filled with the breath of life, floated quietly, turning into two cards with exquisite patterns and unique auras.

The first card depicted a round, pink larval beast.

[Bond]: When deployed simultaneously with [Ash] and [WarGreymon] / [???], the effect [Omnimon] / [Omnimon Zwart] can be activated.

”Ash’s deck is just missing a Magikarp now.”

Gu Ye’s psionic energy flowed into the two cards.

Two small figures came into view.

Koromon is a pink, ball-shaped Digimon.

It has a round body with a pair of long, soft ears on its head. Its eyes are large, round, and bright red, and its mouth is filled with sharp teeth.

Overall, it looks very cute, like a rolling pink ball.

Unicorn, on the other hand, is a small mammal-type Digimon, similar in appearance to a rabbit.

Its body is covered in soft light blue or white fur. It has a horn on its head that hardened from a tentacle, which is covered in orange fur.

Its eyes are large and round, usually black or red. Its ears are long and erect, its limbs are short, and its tail is also quite short.

”Chiu~”

”Woo~”

The two little things hopped and bounced into Gu Ye’s arms.

Gu Ye held one in each hand. They felt completely different: one was furry, and the other was smooth and tender.

”Knock knock—Gu Ye, open the door quickly!”

Bu Yao pounded on the door and shouted loudly.
