Dragon Blood Saint Emperor

The moment the young man’s voice rang out, all eyes turned toward him. When they saw who it was, their pupils contracted, their gazes filled with profound apprehension.

They knew this young man all too well.

It was none other than the leading figure of Yunhuang City’s younger generation, the Lii Family’s Eldest Young Master, Lii Yifei!

Beside Lii Yifei was a charming young woman, his wife, Han Qingqing.

Upon seeing Ye Wushuang, Han Qingqing smiled faintly, turned her head, and began to whisper to Lii Yifei.

”Brother, Sister-in-law, you’re here!”

A smile appeared on Lii Yijun’s face when he saw the two of them.

Whatever Han Qingqing said, Lii Yifei’s interest was piqued. He sized up Ye Wushuang with immense curiosity, completely ignoring Su Yang as he walked forward.

Su Yang’s face darkened, but there was nothing he could do. In front of Lii Yifei, his own strength was simply not enough to matter.

He had no choice but to retract his aura.

Reaching Ye Wushuang’s side, Han Qingqing introduced him to Lii Yifei. ”Brother Fei, this is Benefactor Ye, whom I told you about!”

Lii Yifei cupped his fists in a salute. ”I am deeply indebted to you, Brother Ye. It is only because you intervened that my younger brother and my wife are safe. I cannot thank you enough.”

”You’re too kind, Brother Lii. It was a small effort, nothing to dwell on,” Ye Wushuang said lightly. Saving them had simply been a matter of convenience.

Han Qingqing smiled. ”Benefactor Ye, you saved both our lives, and we never had a chance to thank you properly. Now that you’ve come to Yunhuang City, we insist on showing you our hospitality!”

”Sister-in-law, I was about to take Benefactor Ye home,” Lii Yijun added, ”but certain people wouldn’t let us leave. They were planning on keeping us here.” As he spoke, he shot a cold glare at Su Yang.

At this, Su Yang’s expression changed. He stared at Lii Yifei, saying nothing.

”Second Young Master Lii, this is all just a misunderstanding,” Tang Yunxuan said with a smile as she stepped forward. Her face was calm, betraying no emotion.

’This, however, is what gave Ye Wushuang pause. The woman never let her emotions show on her face. Clearly, her self-control was formidable. She was no ordinary woman.’

”A misunderstanding?”

The crowd was stunned. They clearly hadn’t expected Tang Yunxuan to say such a thing.

On second thought, however, everyone understood. Ye Wushuang had ties to the Lii Family, and now Lii Yifei himself had appeared. If they continued to press the issue, no one would be able to walk away without losing face.

”I have already been briefed on what happened earlier,” Tang Yunxuan began. ”It was my unruly brother who started this mess and offended Young Master Ye.”

As Tang Yunxuan spoke, she turned to Ye Wushuang with a small smile. ”Young Master Ye, I apologize to you on my brother’s behalf.”

”But Sister, he hit me!”

Young Master Tang was not pleased.

”Shut your mouth!” Tang Yunxuan shot him a fierce glare. ”Do you think I don’t know what you’re like? Now get your ass home. You’re not allowed out for a month.”

”Sister, are you really...”

Hearing this, Young Master Tang opened his mouth to protest, but the words died on his lips when he saw Tang Yunxuan’s stern expression. He could only resort to putting on a pitiful face, hoping to win her sympathy.

But Tang Yunxuan ignored him completely.

Seeing this, Young Master Tang’s defiance evaporated. He could only obediently leave Juying Tower. As he passed Ye Wushuang, however, he shot him a resentful glare.

He had been beaten by Ye Wushuang and was now being grounded for a month. He felt deeply wronged and furious.

He let out a cold snort before finally disappearing from Juying Tower.

Tang Yunxuan retracted her gaze and, as if nothing had happened, smiled. ”Young Master Ye, my brother has greatly offended you, and as his sister, I share in the responsibility. I would like to host a banquet here at Juying Tower today to apologize on his behalf. What do you say?”

An apology!

Everyone was shocked. They had thought that even if Ye Wushuang didn’t end up dead, he’d be leaving with at least a few broken bones. They never expected Tang Yunxuan to let him off so easily, much less lower herself to host a banquet as an apology!

Was it really just because Lii Yifei had shown up?

The crowd was perplexed. Tang Yunxuan was no ordinary woman. In fact, she wasn’t afraid of Lii Yifei. His influence alone shouldn’t have been enough to make the great Miss Tang host a banquet as an apology.

Seizing the opportunity, Han Qingqing also stepped forward. ”Benefactor Ye, I’ve already sent word to have a banquet prepared at our home. This time, you can’t refuse. If you do, I’m afraid people will say we’re ungrateful.”

”That’s right! You can’t leave this time!” Lii Yijun added with a grin.

Seeing this, the onlookers in Juying Tower wore strange expressions. It was obvious to everyone that both families were trying to win Ye Wushuang over.

Ye Wushuang’s expression remained placid. He glanced at Lii Yijun before turning back to Tang Yunxuan with a faint smile. ”Today was supposed to be Miss Tang’s banquet at Juying Tower. I’ve already caused enough of a disturbance by showing up uninvited, for which I am ashamed. How could I possibly trouble you further, Miss Tang? I appreciate the kind offer, but I must decline.”

His words were diplomatic, but everyone understood: he had politely refused Tang Yunxuan’s offer.

Tang Yunxuan didn’t seem angry at all. She simply smiled and said, ”Nonsense, Young Master Ye. Today, my hospitality was lacking; how could I possibly blame you? If today is inconvenient, then I will host another banquet some other day. I trust you won’t refuse me then.”

”Of course, of course. How could I possibly refuse such a generous invitation from Miss Tang?”

Ye Wushuang offered another platitude before following Lii Yifei and the others out of Juying Tower.

Su Yang walked to Tang Yunxuan’s side. His face was grim as he watched Ye Wushuang leave. ”Miss,” he said coldly, ”are we really just letting him go like that?”

”And could you have stopped him?” Tang Yunxuan asked coolly, her expression once again turning serious.

”If Lii Yifei hadn’t shown up, I could have crushed him easily,” Su Yang said, clenching his fist. A cold glint flashed in his eyes, revealing he was not ready to give up.

’Could you, really?’

Tang Yunxuan stared silently at the doorway. ’I was watching him the whole time,’ she thought. ’I didn’t see a single trace of fear on his face. He only looked grave when he was looking at me. Otherwise, he was completely confident, as if Su Yang posed no threat to him at all.’

’More importantly, he gave me a sense of danger. It’s just a feeling... a woman’s intuition.’

「Meanwhile.」

Ye Wushuang followed the trio out of Juying Tower and headed toward the Lii Family estate.

Along the way, Han Qingqing asked, ”By the way, Benefactor Ye, who were those people chasing you that day?”

Ye Wushuang smiled. ”People from the Demon Abyss.”

”The Demon Abyss!” Lii Yifei’s gaze sharpened for an instant before he relaxed, asking with a smile, ”How did Brother Ye end up provoking them?”

Ye Wushuang smiled faintly. ”It was nothing much. I just happened to step into the territory of the Demon Abyss and ran into a bit of trouble.”

”I see,” Lii Yifei said. ”The Demon Abyss is an immense power. In these lands, it’s said that all who enter their domain die, with no exceptions. For you to go in and walk out so easily, Brother Ye... I am truly impressed.”

Of course, if Lii Yifei knew that Ye Wushuang had not only crossed the border but had also taken a stroll through their main lair and killed several Spiritual Spring experts, his reaction would likely be more than simple admiration.

Ye Wushuang didn’t comment further. Remembering his reason for being here, he asked, ”By the way, Brother Lii, have you seen a group of two men and three women in Yunhuang City these past few days? One of the women has silver hair and blue eyes.”

”Two men and three women, one with silver hair and blue eyes?”

The three of them thought for a moment before shaking their heads.

However, Lii Yifei said, ”Brother Ye, how about this: come back to my home first. I’ll send my men to ask around. Someone might have seen them.”

”Alright.”

Ye Wushuang nodded. ’To be honest, while Yunhuang City is the closest city to the Demon Abyss, I’m not certain they would come here. All I can do for now is ask around.’
