Crazy Leveling System

Chapter 1346: Subjugation

“That’s right, I’m the leader of the new faction,” Yi Tianyun shrugged and smiled lightly. “Seems like all of you still aren’t happy with me. I kindly invited you to join, but each of you turned your nose up at it. Since you refuse to drink the toast, you’ll have to drink the penalty.”

“Bullshit!” one of the leaders shouted, “There are no benefits, why should we follow you?”

“Why should you follow me?” Yi Tianyun patted his fist and smiled calmly. “Because of this. I can protect you. It’s that simple.”

Everyone looked at him in silence. What he said wasn’t wrong, no benefit was greater than being able to grow safely under a powerful faction. Especially when one had backing, going to other God Territories without being bullied.

As long as your faction was powerful, even if you stumbled upon an opportunity, once you revealed your background, others would hesitate to take it by force. That was the value of strong backing, no one dared to mess with you.

The crowd exchanged looks, but they still had murderous intent in their eyes. Even so, they still didn’t want to join the new faction!

“Kill!”

A silent code was passed among them. The next moment, they all lunged forward, unleashing their strongest power. Many were God Monarch-level cultivators, and when they exploded with full force, it was overwhelming.

In an instant, the entire secret chamber was filled with surging power, blasting outward in all directions.

“Hmph!”

Yi Tianyun snorted coldly. The Supreme God Monarch title’s effect was immediately released, suppressing them harshly from all sides. Their bodies weakened as their strength rapidly diminished. Their astonishing speed was like being tied down by iron, slowed significantly.

Their expressions changed instantly. That unprecedented pressure made them realize they were up against a fearsome opponent, one they couldn’t resist at all.

Just as they were about to say something, Yi Tianyun had already reached out, crushing one cultivator with a single grab, and then kicking another to death with one strike.

In just three punches and two kicks, most of the faction leaders were already dead or crippled. Those once-powerful leaders were wiped out like slicing vegetables.

Those who remained were so frightened their courage shattered. These God Monarch-level powerhouses, how had they become so weak?

“W-We surrender! We’re willing to submit!”

One after another, they knelt down, afraid that if they knelt too late, they would be killed too.

“Sorry. You’re already past the deadline I originally gave you. Especially after you joined forces to attack me.”

Yi Tianyun’s eyes turned cold. He dashed forward, and wherever he passed, blood mist filled the air. A vast number of faction leaders were instantly obliterated.

The once-clean secret chamber was now drenched in blood, a horrifying sight.

“Boss, what happened!?”

At that moment, a group rushed in from outside, only to see a young man standing in the middle of a blood-soaked room, his body untouched by even a drop of blood.

“Your boss has been eliminated by me. Go tell the others, this is their last chance. Either get out of the Chaos God Territory, or surrender. Otherwise, they’ll end up just like this!”

Yi Tianyun issued his final ultimatum. He didn’t intend to wipe everyone out. With so many cultivators scattered across the Chaos God Territory, completely purging them wasn’t realistic, it would take too much time.

This had been his plan from the start, kill all the leaders. Once the factions lost their heads, it would be easier to manage. Either they’d run away, or they’d surrender quickly.

After speaking, Yi Tianyun turned and left. No one dared to stop him.

Those who remained stood in stunned silence. It was only after a long pause that they finally came back to their senses. They could see the fear and panic in each other’s eyes. Quickly, they all left, returning to their own camps.

After they returned, they reported everything exactly as it happened. The news, once it spread, caused a massive uproar throughout the Chaos God Territory. The previously defiant factions were now terrified.

Now they had only two choices: leave or surrender.

So many leaders had already been killed. They knew full well that compared to those leaders, they weren’t stronger, in fact, some were even weaker.

“Boss, should we… surrender?”

“Yeah, should we? That new faction leader is way too strong. If we go to another God Territory, it’ll be hard to gain a foothold…”

“We’ve lived here for so long… I really don’t want to leave. Damn that new faction, they’re so aggressive…”

“So what if they are? That’s just how the strong operate. All those other dominant forces in the past were like this too, weren’t they? After a while, they’d come to collect protection fees. The only question now is, how will this new leader handle it?”

Survival of the fittest had always been the law of this world, no one could deny that. Even if Yi Tianyun hadn’t come, there were already strong factions constantly suppressing the weak. Small-scale wars broke out all the time.

Yi Tianyun was simply more domineering, he wanted to rule the entire Chaos God Territory, bringing about a complete reshuffling of power.

Very soon, many factions made their choices. Most chose to surrender, while a small number chose to leave. Those who left simply didn’t want to be restricted. They believed that joining a faction meant being shackled by rules.

Especially under Yi Tianyun, they expected there would be many constraints, and they refused to live like dogs.

Some time later, inside the grand hall, many faction leaders and elders now stood before Yi Tianyun. Each of them was on edge, unsure how he planned to deal with them.

“Welcome to the fold,” Yi Tianyun said calmly. “I believe in time, you’ll realize how wise your choice was. I don’t have many rules to lay down, just one: absolute obedience to our orders!”

“As for everything else, your factions are yours to manage. Under normal circumstances, we won’t interfere.”

“The way you managed things before, you may continue managing them that way. However, there will be some situations where you’ll need to cooperate with us.”

One by one, the leaders looked up in surprise. They had thought their authority would be stripped away, but now, it seemed they had worried for nothing.

“Absolutely, we will cooperate fully!”

They all nodded quickly. Even if their authority had been removed, they would have had no choice but to obey. Now that they learned they could still manage their own forces, they were even happier. They understood that missions would be assigned, that was only natural. Otherwise, why be recruited at all?

Yi Tianyun nodded. He was quite satisfied with this batch of cultivators. Just as he had expected, this God Territory would be renamed soon.

Subjugating these scattered forces wasn’t difficult at all. At the same time, Yi Tianyun didn’t make things hard for them, instead, just like with his own cultivators, he issued a variety of missions for them to complete. Correspondingly, they were offered generous rewards.

Especially when he listed the items available for exchange using contribution points, their eyes lit up. For example, even a superior-grade Heavenly Dao level martial art could be exchanged, how could they not be excited? And not just superior-grade Heavenly Dao martial arts, but also many other powerful weapons were available for exchange. They were thrilled.

All of this could be obtained simply through contribution points, which made them incredibly excited. To put it plainly, even a mediocre person, as long as they worked hard, could eventually exchange for these!

Of course, superior-grade Heavenly Dao martial arts were extremely difficult to obtain. The required contribution points were substantial, it wasn’t something easily earned. But at least for them, it meant hope! As long as there was hope, it wasn’t despair.

For instance, after completing missions for a few thousand years, it was entirely possible to accumulate enough points to exchange for a mid-grade or even low-grade Heavenly Dao martial art.

That was still hopeful, because with enough time, you could earn it. No need to doubt it, given enough time, you could exchange for anything.

There were many types of missions. Collecting spiritual herbs, even cleaning up trash, all of these tasks could earn contribution points! The missions ranged in size, and many currently focused on expanding territory and stabilizing the Chaos God Territory.

Yi Tianyun didn’t offer them direct handouts, but simply by releasing missions, he had already excited them. In other factions, would anyone be willing to offer such good things? Even with contribution point systems, they’d never provide such precious items.

Seeing their excitement, Yi Tianyun was very satisfied. This was exactly the effect he wanted. In the eyes of other factions, these items were too valuable to offer, but he was willing to give them out.

After destroying the Evil Spirit God Territory and Heavenly Venerable Slaughter God, he’d obtained a massive amount of loot, including many superior-grade Heavenly Dao martial arts. These items could now be used as rewards to inspire loyalty.

“Yi Tianyun, looks like you’ve subjugated them just to have them complete these missions?” Shi Xueyun asked from the side.

“Pretty much,” Yi Tianyun nodded. “The main goal is still to gradually assimilate them, turn them into our people. If we forcibly managed them from the start, it would only stir up problems. Everything must happen step by step. Let them realize that our faction is fair and resourceful. That way, their loyalty will gradually increase.”

Yi Tianyun’s approach was a soft integration policy, not immediate coercion or forced control. That would only trigger backlash, making things worse.

“We’re low on manpower. Managing the Chaos God Territory right away would be difficult. But with their help, it’s a different story,” Yi Tianyun smiled slightly. Everything was proceeding just as he’d planned.

“But among them, there are many vicious types, some fled here from other God Territories. We don’t know their true nature.” Shi Xueyun had always been in charge of managing their own cultivators, and now suddenly accepting so many outsiders could easily cause issues.

Especially since some of them had committed countless killings and only came here to hide. If their enemies came looking for them, or if they caused internal chaos, it would be a big problem.

“That’s true. But everything needs to be investigated, right?” Yi Tianyun clenched his fist and smiled faintly. “If it turns out they stirred up trouble because they destroyed evil, I’ll protect them. If it’s the other way around, I’ll slowly eliminate them! Aren’t there internal missions? Those are meant to investigate their backgrounds.”

“So that’s why you created those missions?” Shi Xueyun covered her mouth in surprise. She had been curious about the internal tasks, and now she understood they were to dig up the truth about these people.

These missions were specifically for internal disciples, and the contribution rewards were quite high. They had to investigate each person, starting with those of higher cultivation, to uncover their backgrounds.

How could Yi Tianyun let just anyone join? A thankless wolf, once fed, might bite. Everything had to be brought in first, then thoroughly investigated, scrutinized to the bone!

In the following days, Yi Tianyun didn’t need to do much. He simply remained seated here. Things were just getting started, there was no way he could leave immediately. He had to oversee the situation, in case anything unexpected occurred.

At the same time, he placed Teleportation God Stones across the entire Chaos God Territory. This way, he could instantly support any region at will. This was truly his territory, fully within his grasp.

As time passed, reports quickly began arriving.

“Reporting to Heavenly Clouds Great Emperor, Evil Heaven Monarch Yuexie fled here after insulting the princess of the Moonflower God Territory.”

“Bring him in. Quietly. Don’t alert anyone.”

“Reporting to Heavenly Clouds Great Emperor, Heavenly Monarch Delong has slain countless innocents. He was hunted by a powerful cultivator and fled here.”

“Capture him!”

“Reporting…”

One report after another came in. Yi Tianyun gave the same order every time: bring them in alive. Do not kill.

“Yi Tianyun, aren’t you going to execute them?” Shi Xueyun asked curiously from the side.

Their backgrounds were already exposed. Why not just eliminate them, instead of capturing and holding them?

“Xueyun, don’t pretend,” Yi Tianyun chuckled, grabbing her delicate hand. “You already knew the answer, didn’t you? You just want to hear me explain it for show, huh?”

Shi Xueyun blushed slightly and smiled shyly. “You saw through me again…”

She had been managing their people for years, how could she not know? She just wanted to see Yi Tianyun’s passionate expression as he explained his thoughts.

Who would’ve thought she’d be found out immediately? These were her usual tricks. She’d done this in the past too, it’s just that Yi Tianyun hadn’t been around back then and didn’t notice.

“Well, since you want to hear it, I’ll explain.” Yi Tianyun grinned. “The purpose is simple, to build alliances. I plan to send each of them back to the God Territory they offended, as diplomatic gifts!”

These people had all provoked other factions or committed terrible crimes. If they were sent back, the result was obvious. Although those were smaller factions, for Yi Tianyun, it was a chance to resolve problems and build relationships, why not?

As for why not alerting them immediately, if they found out Yi Tianyun’s intentions, they’d flee right away. And how would he catch them then?
