Crazy Leveling System

Chapter 988

“Senior Brother Si Ma, I will team up with you!” Yuan Tianyou said as he stood up and walked towards Sikong Ma.

“You are welcome to join, brother Yuan! You are the Core Palace’s number 1 genius. We will definitely need your strength on our team!” Sikong Ma said with a big smile on his face. Yuan Tianyou seemed really excited upon hearing Sikong Ma’s words.

Now, Sikong Ma was very excited with how things turned out, as he could distribute the Tokens they gathered later however he liked. Yi Tianyun just shook his head and turned his attention somewhere else. He couldn’t care less about what these people were about to do! The weak tend to group up, after all.

The tester came again as they began handing the Token over to the participants. “Line up! You will be given one token each!” the tester said uninterestedly. After handing over one Token to each participant, the tester disappeared. Yi Tianyun also got his token, and he carefully observed the situation. He observed the Token and saw ‘Heavenly Edict’ was engraved on the Token, which meant it was the mark of which camp they belonged to.

He knew that among the War of Ascension’s rules, one of them stated that a token from the same camp would be considered one piece no matter how many Tokens were taken from the same camp! Nevertheless, it didn’t mean one group wouldn’t attack their own team and use their Token to barter with another camp later. Then again, it didn’t matter much for him as he would traverse the land to collect as many tokens as possible.

Suddenly, there was a terrifying pressure in the air that forced everyone down. It was as if the gravity itself had increased 10 folds. At the same time, a murderous aura could be felt coming from outside, stimulating everyone’s fighting instinct. But still, the murderous aura that Yi Tianyun felt right now was still much weaker than the one he felt on the Slaughter God Tower.

It didn’t take long before the front gate was opened up high, and a more intense murderous aura came from the battlefield, signalling to everyone that it was time for them to fight!

“Let’s go!” Sikong Ma shouted as he quickly rushed outside. Yi Tianyun himself was also among those who rushed out of the gate too. Everyone immediately felt that the battlefield was so much different than the temple they were in just a moment ago. The sky was covered by a thick layer of barrier, which meant they couldn’t escape the battlefield by flying out to outer space.

Furthermore, the murderous aura that they felt after leaving the temple was more intense than they anticipated. It was like hell! They also saw a temple on their side along with many people rushing out of its gate! Now they finally see other cultivators who got what they need, another Token!

However, everyone didn’t attack immediately. Each of them was thinking as they knew that they couldn’t just join the fray without a plan. They knew the rules of the War of Ascension now as the rules were carved into the Token. They didn’t have to listen to their seniors anymore.

The rules of this level were pretty simple as all they ought to do was obtain two tokens and immediately traverse a dangerous land and reach the final destination. So, it wouldn’t matter if a cultivator got 100 tokens as they wouldn’t pass the assessment if they failed to reach the designated location. This was also the reason why they couldn’t attack right away, as they had to be very careful here.

Now, the truth that half of the participants would be disqualified here today was revealed, and Sikong Ma’s word was proven legit! Many of them could get their hands on more than 2 tokens, but 2 tokens were all they needed! Which meant that there was no point in a pointless fight!

Yi Tianyun observed the other camps and saw their status thanks to the Appraisal Eye. He saw several 6th  Layer Earth Monarch and 7th Layer Earth Monarch among the cultivators. However, he didn’t see anyone with higher cultivation than that.

“I shouldn’t rush this.” Yi Tianyun said as he smiled and flew into the air. They could still fly in the air, but no one would do that unless they were pretty confident in their skill. Furthermore, flying would make him a vulnerable target as everyone would have a clear vision of where he was, but Yi Tianyun didn’t care about that!

He flew towards a nearby forest and disappeared from everyone’s view. But as soon as he stepped into the forest, Yi Tianyun could feel chill from all directions, and that was when he realised that the forest was lurking with dangers.

Suddenly, numerous thorns were shot through the ground towards Yi Tianyun’s direction, but Yi Tianyun stepped aside, dodging the thorns easily. A huge demon beast suddenly appeared with thorns all over his body, rushing towards Yi Tianyun with angry roars. The numerous thorns on his body were flung toward Yi Tianyun with each step it took.

The demon beast’s cultivation was at the 2nd Layer Earth Monarch, and from the looks of it, it wasn’t any ordinary demon beast. Yi Tianyun flashed in the air and reappeared behind the demon beast, completely ignoring all the thorns on the demon beast.

“Shaking Heaven Body Secret Art!” Yi Tianyun shouted as he discharged a shockwave to the demon beast’s back, pressing it down to the ground.

“A feisty one! There’s no need to be on edge all the time, you know.” Yi Tianyun said as he grabbed the demon beast’s neck. But the demon beast immediately struggled to break free.

“You still want to resist, huh?” Yi Tianyun said as he pressed the demon beast harder to the ground. The pressure he applied to the demon beast was so intense that the demon beast would be turned into mincemeat if he went any harder!

The demon beast began to screech in pain as it couldn’t withstand Yi Tianyun’s power.

“Now you catch on, huh?” Yi Tianyun said as he sat on the demon beast’s back. He then put the demon beast on his pet bar, capturing it to become his pet!

‘DING!’

‘Successfully captured a giant hedgehog!’

‘Reward: 30 billion Exp, 10.000 Pet Mastery Points.’
