How Could the Villainous Young Master Be a Saintess?

Vinny rubbed his head. It must be because he had been living with Shikondell for too long, causing his brain to start getting a bit “electric wave”-ish. How come the way he thought about problems was getting stranger and stranger?

Mirexia was his childhood friend and good buddy. He had just accidentally discovered some unspeakable secrets about his friend and wanted to help her out.

Now their relationship had been repaired and elevated to an even better state than when they were kids.

Vinny definitely didn’t want to have any inappropriate thoughts that would make their relationship awkward again. That would render all his efforts wasted.

Being quite familiar with the original work, Vinny knew Mirexia didn’t like him.

As a character who gradually transitioned from a villain to a background NPC, he didn’t have the ability or guts to have any improper thoughts about the destined female lead.

As for Shikondell, they were just roommates.

Although she was currently down on her luck, she was still the destined female lead with the blessing of fortune.

She would surely meet her destined noble who would help her restore her kingdom. Vinny didn’t need to worry about her at all.

Moreover, she was an elf. The exclusivity of the elven race was well-known among the various races, especially the elven royal family.

They absolutely did not allow their descendants to marry outsiders. This was their tradition and custom passed down through generations.

This was precisely why Vinny never thought about his relationship with them in that way.

Although he seemed close to these destined female leads, in reality, it wasn’t the case.

The disparity in status, the gap in fortune, and the resistance from the plot created a chasm-like difference between the female leads blessed by destiny and the former villain who was striving to become a background NPC. It was intimidating.

For Vinny, the most important thing was to survive. And for a male NPC, surviving in this cruel orange world where men had no human rights was extremely difficult.

One needed formidable strength, so his primary task had always been to become stronger.

But...

How should I put it? Recalling the series of events with Mirexia earlier, Vinny felt both emotional and incredulous.

If he had been in his male form, he would definitely not have taken the initiative to make such a request.

In fact, he wouldn’t even have dared to think about such a thing.

But for some reason, after becoming Vanessa, driven by a mischievous streak and some kind of fetish, everything had proceeded as smoothly as flowing water, naturally and without any psychological barriers.

Therefore, his current mood was quite complicated.

But no matter how complicated, what happened had happened, and it couldn’t be changed. As for how to face Mirexia in the future?

After much thought, he could only choose to dissociate himself. That was Vanessa’s doing, what did it have to do with Vinny? It wasn’t his business.

Vinny thought guiltily.

“Ahem, Dell, I’m back. Could you open the door for me?” After that, Vinny left Mirexia’s residence, closed the door, locked the courtyard gate, and returned to his own place.

He tentatively knocked on the door and cleared his throat.

“......”

“Click.” After a brief silence, the door opened, leaving a small gap.

Vinny inexplicably felt a bit eerie. In the past, when Shikondell heard him come home, she would hop over like a little rabbit to open the door for him.

Why was it so strange today? And how did the door open by itself??

Vinny slowly pulled open the door and found the inside of the house pitch dark.

What’s going on here??

This left Vinny utterly confused.

Was there no one in the house? Did Shikondell go out? But how come the door was open?

Was Shikondell so careless that she forgot to close the door when she went out??

Vinny changed into his slippers and cautiously entered the house. For some reason, even though this was his own dorm, he had to be so careful, as if he were exploring a haunted house.

But he just felt the atmosphere in the dorm was very strange, though he couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was strange.

“Really, how could she go out without closing the door?” Vinny muttered.

That little elf girl was too careless.

But what’s going on? Why were the curtains in the living room drawn in broad daylight? It was so dim. It’s not like vampires lived here, why was the dorm made to look like a cave??

Vinny looked around, feeling that something was off with the dorm. He came to the dining table and only then noticed that due to the dim lighting, he hadn’t seen that there were still many dishes on the table after he entered.

Wait, what?

Vinny frowned. Did Shikondell go back to her room to rest without cleaning up the dishes after dinner last night??

Something was wrong, very wrong. This was too abnormal.

Vinny sat down in his usual chair with a serious expression, examining the table, and discovered something even more terrifying.

The food on the tableware was completely untouched?!

What on earth was going on here??

Vinny was baffled. He felt like he had arrived at the scene of a mysterious disappearance case, needing to find the missing Shikondell based on the clues left at the scene.

So, what exactly happened last night??

If it were just the dishes not being cleaned up, although it was a small probability event, it could still be attributed to Shikondell being careless or absent-minded.

But if she didn’t even touch the food, then the problem was much bigger. Shikondell couldn’t have been so absent-minded that she went straight to sleep without eating, right? Even if she were careless, there had to be a limit.

What was going on? Could it be that after he left last night, Shikondell was suddenly captured by a demon who broke into the campus? No, that couldn’t be.

This was Carillian Academy, no demon had the ability to break in here. Besides, if Vinny wasn’t mistaken, the demons should be in complete chaos right now.

Due to the failed ambush on Elusa Varelis some time ago, allowing her to return safely to the demon world, she would naturally settle the score with those who ambushed her.

Based on Vinny’s understanding of Elusa Varelis’s nature, that big fox would likely take out the humiliation she suffered from him on those demons who plotted against her, making them wish they were dead.

It could only be said that his decision to let Elusa Varelis go was absolutely correct. It was a “big gift” to the demon world.

Then could it be that the tribesmen came and forcibly took Shikondell away??

That couldn’t be either. After the last incident, those shepherd boys realized this wasn’t the tribe, it wasn’t a place where they could do as they pleased.

Since then, they had completely settled down. Moreover, this was Carillian Academy. If they caused trouble here, did they want to give up their hard-earned admission qualifications and not want to stay in the academy anymore??

Then what was it.......

As the pondering Vinny raised his gaze, he rubbed his eyes and vaguely saw a blurry black shadow sitting steadily across the table, motionless.

“???” What was this??

Vinny rubbed his eyes, initially thinking he had seen wrong. After repeatedly confirming that there was indeed a black shadow sitting across the table, he was so scared he nearly jumped out of his chair.

“What the hell?! What demon is lurking here to ambush your daddy?! Show yourself!” Vinny quickly backed away several steps, instinctively assuming a white crane spreads its wings stance.

“........” The black shadow silhouette didn’t respond at all.

What?

Vinny looked suspicious. Could it be that someone was playing a prank, deliberately turning off the lights, drawing the curtains, not cleaning up the dishes, and placing something on the dining table to scare him?

Who could be so bored? In his impression, even Aesphyra wouldn’t be so bored, let alone Shikondell.

Vinny felt that everything was filled with strangeness, so he didn’t hesitate any longer and turned on the crystal light.

Soft light filled the entire living room, and Vinny finally saw clearly who the figure sitting across the table was.

“Del, Dell??” Vinny widened his eyes, looking at the silver-haired elf sitting at the dining table, wearing a male student uniform, her eyes empty and staring at the dishes on the table, with faint dark circles under her eyes.

There was no vitality at all. If one didn’t know better, they would think this was a life-sized doll.

Holy crap.

What was this? What kind of performance art was this??

Vinny was shocked and also couldn’t figure out what was wrong with Shikondell. She looked like her brain had crashed.

So Shikondell hadn’t gone out. She hadn’t left at all, but had been sitting at the dining table the whole time??

Looking at Shikondell’s appearance, Vinny inexplicably felt that she had been sitting here without moving since last night.

No way? That couldn’t be, right?? That would be too exaggerated.

“Dell, what’s wrong with you? What are you doing? Say something??” Vinny came up to Shikondell and waved his hand in front of her face.

After a long while, Shikondell, like an old appliance that had been turned on, slowly started up. Her lifeless eyes slowly moved to Vinny and stared straight at him.

Why did this scene feel a bit creepy??

Was this really that harmless little elf girl??

“Vinny, you’re back?” Seeing it was Vinny, Shikondell’s eyes still didn’t regain any vitality.

“Ah, yes, I’m back. Didn’t I tell you last night that I was a bit busy and had to work overtime at the student council, so you didn’t need to wait for me to have dinner?” As he said this, Vinny felt somewhat guilty for some reason, but then he thought, why should he feel guilty?

Wasn’t every word of that true? Why should he feel guilty??

Going to the student council president’s house could still be considered working overtime at the student council, right?

What was the difference? He did indeed work overtime with the student council president last night to handle work, right?

Except for the location being different, everything else was the same as usual.

And fundamentally, this was just explaining to his roommate.

“Vinny, were you working overtime until just now?” Shikondell tilted her cute little head, but there was no light in her eyes.

“Well, there was no other way. The work was too busy. You know, the Holy Healing Festival is coming, this is the busiest time for the student council. There was so much work, pulling all-nighters is completely normal.” Vinny explained.

“But, I remember the student council has a rule that general members must return to the dorms after 5 PM. Only the higher-ups and those on duty can stay longer.” Shikondell continued to press with a straight gaze.

“Well, special times call for special measures.” Vinny also didn’t know why Shikondell was being so particular today, and he faintly felt that Shikondell’s current state seemed very abnormal.

“Then, Vinny, after 5 PM last night, were you really still at the student council?” Shikondell stared at Vinny.

“.......” Vinny fell silent.

Something was wrong.

Why did he feel like a husband caught by his wife having an affair with a mistress??

What was going on? Why did he have this strange sense of déjà vu??

Also, when did this little fool Shikondell become so sharp? He thought this little girl was easy to fool, how come she was so incisive at a time like this??

“Well, after 5 PM I wasn’t at the student council, but there’s no rule that work must be done at the student council. Precisely because of the student council rules you mentioned, we took the documents out to work so as not to cause trouble for the student council.” Vinny answered with ease, as this was the truth, just not the whole truth.

“Then, Vinny, where did you go to work? Why didn’t you come back all night?” Shikondell tilted her head. “Can you tell me? I waited for you all night at home.”

“Why did you do that??” Hearing this, Vinny was a bit dumbfounded.

“I was afraid you didn’t have your keys. What if you came back in the middle of the night and I was asleep, then you wouldn’t be able to get in, right?” Shikondell intertwined her fingers.

“......I’m sorry, it was sudden, I didn’t have time to inform you. Next time I have to work overtime, don’t wait for me, just go to sleep.” Hearing Shikondell say this, Vinny felt somewhat guilty.

“It’s nothing, I chose to wait for you, it has nothing to do with you.” Shikondell shook her head.

“So, Vinny, where did you go to work last night? Could you, considering I waited all night, tell me a bit? Were you working alone?”

“No, I was working with colleagues.”

“Just work, nothing else?” Shikondell continued to ask.

“Yes, what else could it be.”

“Who were your colleagues? Were they all girls?”

“Of course there were both males and females.”

“Really? But, that’s strange, I only smell the scent of girls on you.” Shikondell’s gaze fell on Vinny, her lips trembling. “Only two scents, both girls. One is a citrus scent, unfamiliar, the other is a white camellia scent, which I smelled before in our dorm’s bathroom.”

“These two perfumes, they’re not something boys would use.”

“......”
