Nine Star Hegemon Body Arts

Deep within the Sovereign Emperor Heaven lay a place that had existed since the primal chaos era—a land of death known as the Sea of Oblivion.

This place was the ancestral land of the Devil Eye Water Lily race. Legends claimed that the Sea of Oblivion could be traced back to the very birth of the nine heavens and ten lands. Over the ages, countless tales had emerged about it—each steeped in bloodshed, slaughter, misfortune, and evil.

Despite its name, the Sea of Oblivion was not a sea at all. It was an enormous ancient swamp, filled with Devil qi and dark, gloomy aura. It was a place so sinister that few dared to approach, let alone enter.

During the primal chaos war, the Sea of Oblivion was torn in two. One half dried up, becoming a deserted wasteland. But the other half remained in its primordial state.

After that war, the Devil Eye Water Lily race abandoned their homeland, relocating their entire population. But now, they had returned.

The once-silent swamp was thrumming with life. Countless water lilies blanketed its surface, their leaves rising to the sky, creating a lush canopy that stretched across the land.

At the heart of the Sea of Oblivion stood an island—which, upon closer inspection, was an entire world of its own. Back then, the Devil Eye Water Lily race had used this island to evacuate their experts. Now, they had brought it back, anchoring it in the Sea of Oblivion once more.

Spiritual qi poured from the island in an endless stream, making the place appear grand and formidable.

At the top of the island stood a particularly grand palace. Inside, hundreds of the Devil Eye Water Lily race’s experts had gathered.

He was Lian Sanqiang, the Devil Eye Water Lily race’s race leader. But now, his subordinates addressed him as the Sovereign Lord.

They believed the Devil Eye Water Lily race would soon replace the Undying race as the sovereign race among the vegetative demon races. So, it was only right for their leader to be called Sovereign Lord.

“Lian Sanqiang[1]” wasn’t even his original name. He had earned it after cultivating the Devil Eye Water Lily race’s three strongest divine abilities simultaneously—an achievement no one else had accomplished. In honor of that, he was given the name “Sanqiang,” meaning “three strengths.”

So much time had passed that even he no longer remembered his birth name.

Now, he sat silently atop his throne, gazing down at the gathered experts. The tension in the hall was suffocating.

“Are you all trash?!” he suddenly snapped. “After all this time, and you still haven’t uncovered the Undying race’s true foundation?!”

The crowd trembled in fear.

One of the Demon Emperors hastily said, “Reporting to the Sovereign Lord, ever since the Azure Lotus race was sent over, the Undying race has sealed itself away. We’ve tried to probe them several times since, but no matter how we provoke them, they refuse to respond. Since then, we’ve clashed with them several times. However, we couldn’t obtain any useful intel from these attempts.”

Another elder spoke up. “Something feels off. The Undying race has always faced enemies head-on. Their sudden retreat doesn’t make sense. I suspect Liu Changtian is either dead or crippled. Otherwise, they would never endure our provocations so passively.”

Lian Sanqiang snorted. “You suspect? What use is a suspicion?! Yan Xu demands certainty. Confirm whether Liu Changtian is alive. Only then can we proceed with our plans.”

His tone grew increasingly chilling, and fear gripped every heart in the palace. They didn’t even dare to breathe.

“Even after all this time, you’ve failed to find out anything. Yan Xu’s side sent word yesterday—they are very displeased. Heaven and earth are on the verge of massive changes, and a great tribulation is upon us. Last time, we didn’t stand on the right side and were almost annihilated. This time, if we don’t cling to Lord Brahma and Yan Xu’s legs, then after this tribulation, there will be no Devil Eye Water Lilies left.”

The words rang like a death knell. But despite the urgency, there was little they could do. Without launching a full-scale assault, how could they uncover the Undying race’s true power?

The provocation by the Daluo Azure Lotus race had yielded nothing. That had been their best chance, and it had gone to waste.

An elder said, “Sovereign Lord, we just received the full report on the suspicious human who appeared recently.”

“Speak!”

Lian Sanqiang’s curiosity was piqued.

The Undying race’s sudden retreat had clearly started after the human’s arrival. This behavior was unlike them, so it was likely connected.

Lian Sanqiang had been in seclusion all this time and just emerged three days ago. Like Liu Changtian, he was a relic of the primal chaos era. With the world’s spiritual qi undergoing a profound transformation, he was seizing it to regain the lifeforce that had been eroded over the years.

Upon learning how disastrously the situation had been handled, he flew into a rage and executed one of the elders on the spot—one who had ignored Long Chen entirely and squandered time with useless probing attacks.

He had a hunch that this mysterious human was the key to the Undying race’s sudden shift.

“He is called Long Chen, the dean of the High Firmament Academy—”

“What?!” Gasps echoed throughout the hall.

The High Firmament Academy had been a terrifying existence back in the primal chaos era, and Long Chen was its dean?

The elder continued, “His father is from the Jiuli race, and his mother is from the Violet Blood race. In addition to those inheritances, he also possesses a dragon bloodline…”

A stunned silence followed.

“And most shocking of all—he is suspected to be a nine star heir.”

“A nine star heir?!”

With a grim expression, Lian Sanqiang asked. “What do you mean ‘suspected’? Is he or isn’t he?!”

“The report only says he’s highly suspected, Sovereign Lord,” the elder replied nervously.

Lian Sanqiang smiled sinisterly. “If he really is a nine star heir, then that will make things easy. Send a report to Lord Brahma. He’ll immediately dispatch forces to destroy the Undying Demon Forest. That human brat has made things far more interesting.”

Then, with a wave of his hand, he barked, “Summon all the Sovereign sprouts! They are to follow me. We’ll go to the Undying Demon Forest personally. I want to see with my own eyes whether Liu Changtian still draws breath!”

But before they could move, a deafening explosion rocked the island. An alarm bell blared.

“An invasion? Inside the Sea of Oblivion?!”

And just then, a brash, domineering voice echoed from the distance:

“Boss Long San has arrived! Little brats of the Devil Eye Water Lily race, what are you waiting for? Shouldn’t you come out and kneel?”

1. Lian = lily/lotus, Sanqiang = three strengths. ☜
