Ascending to Godhood: I Can Foresee All Futures

Chapter 457: Chapter 234: Vajra’s Furious Gaze! Yin Fire Obscuring the Heavens

He immediately pressed his palms together before his chest and began chanting an incantation. The aura around him suddenly began to skyrocket at an unnaturally frantic rate.

A crimson-gold color appeared beneath his skin, his blood vessels bulging like coiled dragons. Wisps of white steam even began to rise from the top of his head.

He had used a Buddhist Secret Technique that severely damaged his foundations and overdrawn his life’s potential to temporarily force his power to a higher peak.

”Careful! The damned monk is putting his life on the line!”

Bai Qing, the Sect Leader of the Danxia Sect, had been closely monitoring Chen Sheng’s battle. Her expression changed at the sight, and she exchanged a look with a clan elder from the Wang Clan and an elder from the Iron Sword Sect.

The three of them flickered into motion, swiftly darting behind Chen Sheng. They formed a subtle triangular guard, their auras locking onto Monk Kongxu.

They knew very well that no matter how strong Chen Sheng was, there was no guarantee of victory when facing a peak late-stage Profound Mastery expert who had just received a massive power boost and was fighting without any regard for the cost.

”You’ve underestimated far more than just that.”

Chen Sheng snorted, showing no fear. Instead, he took the offensive.

He raised the Dragon Roar Blade again. Blood-red Gang Qi and crimson Yin Fire intertwined and coiled around the blade’s body. A murderous Blade Intent—even more brutal and domineering than before—surged toward the heavens.

”Slay!”

The light of the blade, like a bolt of blood-red silk, tore through the sky as it slashed down toward Monk Kongxu.

This single slash contained the vast Gang Qi of Chen Sheng’s mid-stage Profound Mastery, the sharpness of his Second Realm Mental Realm, and the annihilating properties of the Nine Nether Yin Fire. Its power was so immense that the watching Elders, Wang and Yu, paled in response.

”A worthy strike!”

Monk Kongxu’s eyes flew open. He neither dodged nor evaded, instead stepping forward to meet the incoming blade.

He violently tore the string of seemingly subdued red sandalwood Buddhist Beads from his neck and, without hesitation, spat a mouthful of blood essence onto them.

SSSST—!

When the blood essence touched the beads, it was like hot oil poured on snow, instantly and completely absorbed.

The next instant, the seemingly ordinary string of Buddhist Beads erupted with a brilliant, blinding golden light. Each bead began to burn like a miniature sun.

”Suppress!”

With a furious roar, Monk Kongxu threw the Buddhist Beads in his hand straight up.

The eighteen burning Buddhist Beads whirled in the air, instantly swelling into eighteen golden orbs, each ten feet in diameter. Their energies connected, forming a profound Buddhist Array.

It rose to clash head-on with the blood-red light of Chen Sheng’s descending blade. ℴ

BOOM—!

The massive boom from the collision of the blade light and the Buddhist Array sounded like two mountains crashing together.

A blinding mix of golden and red light exploded outward, and the violent shockwave sent the debris from the buildings below flying for hundreds of feet.

Even though Bai Qing and her two companions were a good distance away, the shockwave forced them back several steps, and they had to circulate their own power to defend against it.

However, after withstanding Chen Sheng’s terrifying strike, the light array formed by the Buddhist Beads merely dimmed slightly; it did not disperse.

On the contrary, urged on by Monk Kongxu, it spun sharply and began to descend upon Chen Sheng, carrying with it a supreme pressure capable of suppressing any evil!

”Break!”

Bai Qing cried out and, without hesitation, summoned her protective Magical Artifact.

It was a palm-sized bronze Treasure Mirror of ancient design.

Bai Qing spat a mouthful of blood essence onto the mirror’s surface. The mirror immediately erupted with a brilliant cyan light, and a beam of cyan light, so condensed it looked solid, shot out from within, precisely striking the center of the descending Buddha Pearl Light Array.

CLANG—!

The sound was like a great temple bell being struck, so loud it made one’s eardrums ache.

The cyan beam of light and the golden Buddhist Array collided violently, sending out pulsing waves of energy.

Bai Qing’s face instantly turned deathly pale. A fine, yet distinct, crack had appeared on the surface of the ancient bronze Treasure Mirror in her hand!

In the brief moment that Bai Qing’s attack stalled the Buddhist Array’s descent.

Chen Sheng moved!

He stepped out from behind Bai Qing, his movements so fast they left an afterimage in his wake.

He gripped the hilt of the Dragon Roar Blade with both hands once more. A Thunder Sound boomed around him as a pillar of blood qi and crimson Yin Fire intertwined and surged upward. He seemed to transform into a War God walking out of a blazing inferno.

With a furious roar, Chen Sheng poured every ounce of his strength into the blade. There were no flashy techniques—it was a simple strike, but one that contained all of his essence, qi, and spirit.

The blade light flashed again!

This slash was even more solid, more overbearing than any before it.

Monk Kongxu’s pupils contracted. He could feel the terrifying killing intent contained within the attack.

In his haste, he could only frantically channel his Protective Buddha Light. As he retreated rapidly, he shot out several golden Palm Seals with his hands, attempting to neutralize the power of the slash.

PUH! PUH! PUH!

The blood-red blade light tore through the golden Palm Seals like they were made of paper. Its momentum barely slowed as it continued its relentless pursuit of Monk Kongxu.

SHRRRIIIP!

The blade’s edge sliced through the Protective Buddha Light, producing a harsh, tearing sound.

Monk Kongxu let out a muffled grunt. A long gash was torn across the chest of his monastic robes. His Protective Gang Qi shuddered violently, making his qi and blood churn. A trickle of blood escaped the corner of his mouth.

’What an eerie flame! Such a tyrannical Blade Intent!’

Alarm bells screamed in Monk Kongxu’s mind.

「The next moment.」

A dragon’s roar shook the very air.

Crimson, dragon-shaped streams of Qi Force roared out from Chen Sheng’s palm seals. Each one was vividly lifelike, with flashing scales and claws, and wreathed in the terrifying Nine Nether Yin Fire as they lunged at Monk Kongxu from all sides.

It was none other than the East Pole Cyan Dragon Seal.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The crimson fire dragons smashed one after another into the layers of Buddha Light that Monk Kongxu had hastily thrown up, erupting into massive fireballs of red and gold.

Monk Kongxu was completely engulfed by the endless explosions and flames, his figure vanishing into the roiling sea of fire.

”Did he succeed?!”

Down below, Elders Wang and Yu, who were locked in a fierce battle with the reinforcements from Qingfeng Temple, and Bai Qing, who had just managed to steady herself, all felt their spirits lift.
