Eternally Regressing in Another World

The two of them talked off and on here. On the other side He Qiong and Li Menglan, mother and daughter, spoke of the years apart. It had been seven years since they last met.

Wang Yue talked with Li Yingying and listened to the mother and daughter as well.

Only then did he learn that seven years ago Li Menglan selling herself into the Wang Family had been her own idea. He Qiong had not even known until she got the Wang Family’s money and found out what had happened.

At the time she had badly wanted her daughter back, but the indenture was already signed, and the other side was a giant like the Wang Family. An ordinary person like her could do nothing at all.

Hearing that inside story, Wang Yue could not help a quiet sigh. Between ordinary people and martial artists the only difference was force. Beyond that there was no high or low. Plenty of martial artists’ character even fell far short of ordinary people’s.

Take He Qiong and Li Menglan, mother and daughter. One willingly sold herself as a slave for her mother and younger siblings. One would rather live the bitterest life and still want her daughter back.

Then think of his own maternal grandfather, who for a tie to a martial sanctuary had heartlessly sent a six-year-old daughter into another family’s house.

That gap...

Today, here, was the first time Wang Yue truly touched the so-called ”bottom.” Add his own time being used as a tool person, and some understanding rose in his heart without him noticing.

Martial artists were not noble. Too much filth and compromise hid among them too.

Commoners were not low. Among them there was also great character and feeling.

Of course nothing could be painted with one brush. Among martial artists some also had great character and feeling, like the women of the Wang Family, who pulled together and fought for the family yet never used their power to bully people.

And among commoners there was filth and compromise too. Some commoners, once they got power, would probably be worse than the worst martial artists.

While they were talking Wang Yue suddenly frowned. He heard a vehicle stop outside, then messy footsteps.

This neighborhood was all working people. In the day the adults worked and the children went to school. It was very quiet. A group of people showing up now was probably not a good path.

Wang Yue stood, walked to the door, and suddenly pulled it open.

Outside, a burly man had his foot up, about to kick the door. The sudden Wang Yue startled him and he froze on the spot.

”What do you want?” Wang Yue looked at that burly man and the seven or eight people behind him and asked, frowning.

”Who are you?” The burly man pulled his foot back and asked, doubtful. The youth in front of him looked very young and still had some boyishness, but his bearing was anything but ordinary.

He also remembered seeing a costly hovering vehicle downstairs just now. It was probably this youth’s. So even with numbers they did not dare act rashly for the moment.

”Never mind who I am, and I don’t care who you are. Get lost at once or you won’t be leaving.” Wang Yue said it mildly. These fellows were clearly hired-hand types. Talking with them had no point. Better to drive them off, then quietly follow and smash their nest in one go and settle it.

Wang Yue also felt what had happened to the Li family was a bit unusual. Li Menglan working in the Wang Family was no secret. Anyone who cared could find it out with a little asking. These people still bullied the Li family. There might be a secret behind it no one knew.

Those men could not read Wang Yue’s path and did not dare provoke him lightly, but slinking off like this left them unwilling. So they said, ”Little brother, that’s not reasonable. That Li Gang wrecked our boss’s beloved vehicle. If they don’t pay, where does the Crocodile Gang’s face go in this area?”

”Oh? How do you want him to pay?” Wang Yue asked with interest.

”Simple. Five million credit points will do.” the burly man said.

Five million credit points were nothing in Wang Yue’s eyes. He had spent five hundred million just on a saber to use for a while.

For the Li family it was an astronomical number. There was no way they could take it out.

”And if they can’t produce that much?” Wang Yue asked.

”That’s easy too.” the burly man said. ”Our boss isn’t the type to wipe people out. As long as Li Gang’s little sister agrees to go around with our young master, the account is wiped clean. Tying up with our Crocodile Gang would be a big benefit for their Li family too.”

Inside the room the Li mother and daughters heard this aim of the other side for the first time. Li Yingying could not help shrinking behind her mother.

Wang Yue did not know whether to laugh or cry. The Crocodile Gang boss hitting Li Gang with a vehicle had truly been planned early, but it was only for Li Yingying.

Looks like because of his previous life he was a bit oversensitive. This Crocodile Gang was only a small gang that had no eyes and was used to being arrogant. It had nothing to do with any plot aimed at the Three Great Families.

That said, Li Yingying was not old, but her looks and figure were both outstanding. In an ordinary high school she absolutely counted as a goddess-class campus flower. Some men lost to lust who could not win her using a few tricks was not strange.

As for why they did not move on Li Yingying directly, it was because human territory now, under the Martial Artists Alliance, still had rules. ”Forcing commoner girls” was something almost no one dared do.

The Martial Artists Alliance represented the martial class, but no matter the age you still needed large numbers of commoners. If the commoners were gone, how would martial artists show their superiority?

If it was only a ”vehicle accident,” there was room to wrangle. The Crocodile Gang boss could fully say Li Gang hit him, then grease things up and down, and those who managed commoners would choose to look the other way.

Even so Wang Yue still did not mean to let the Crocodile Gang go. First, their methods were too filthy. Second, if Li Gang’s body had not been tough enough he would probably have been hit to death.

People like that deserved to die!

”Take me to see your boss. I’ll have a word with him.” Wang Yue ordered, ready to talk to the Crocodile Gang boss directly.

The burly man said nothing. A man behind him was used to being arrogant and did not have the burly man’s eye. He sneered at once. ”Little brat, what are you? You want to see our boss?”

”Noisy!” Wang Yue gave a cold laugh and sent a palm through the air.

The man grunted and fell without a sound.

”Brother Biao, Sixth is dead!” A man beside him caught the one who had shouted at Wang Yue, checked his breath, and said in terror.

The burly man’s face went paper white at once. A martial artist! And one who dared kill in public.

Martial artists stood high above. They were not something street thugs who lived off a bit of brute strength could provoke.

And this martial artist dared kill in public, which meant his status was definitely not simple.

”Young Master, we can talk. I’ll take you to see our boss right now.” The burly man no longer dared waste half a word. He said it with full respect.

”Good. Lead the way.” Wang Yue nodded, then turned to Li Menglan. ”Sister Lan, come on. We’ll go look together.”

”I’m going too.” Li Yingying said suddenly. She felt this matter had started because of her, so she had a duty to go settle it with them, even though she was very afraid.

Wang Yue nodded and did not refuse.

Li Menglan and Li Yingying were both ordinary people, but the Crocodile Gang was no dragon pool or tiger den. To Wang Yue it was an ant nest at most.

So they left He Qiong to watch Li Gang, who might wake anytime, and the Li sisters followed Wang Yue downstairs together.
