Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1163: Peak of power

The sixth day of the Feast had almost reached its end. The fading sun had colored the skies a warm orange, with shadows forming from the different structures in New Sparta.

And that wasn’t the only one that was almost at its conclusion. The Exhibition Tournament had finally moved on to the top 8.

The 6 competitors were those who people expected to excel. The genius young masters, the well trained knights, and the extremely talented. However, there were two people here who had broken all expectations.

Fenix and Jaku. These two dark horses had somehow advanced despite the opponents they were faced against.

Many were still expecting Sir Arthur Lionheart to win. He was the embodiment of strength, of talent, of honor.

But despite that, there were some people who were feeling a sense of foreboding. A feeling that someone else would win, aside from the obvious choice.

Huntrax had his mind on a lot of things. The Ersatz, for example, was one of those things. Its importance couldn’t be overstated.

However, even if that was the case, he couldn’t help but focus his attention on one single thing. Or organization, in fact.

The Reborn company.

He had never even heard of them before a few days ago. But now, they seemed to be at the center of every single thing of importance.

The Exhibition Match. Everyone expected Arthur Lionheart to be the sole promising swordsman to come out of the exhibition match. They were proven wrong. Two people have shown amazing talent.

One was Fenix, which was to be expected since he was always talented from the beginning. And the second was the demi-human.

Both of them were from the Reborn company.

Somehow, this Lower Echelon company was able to find a way to heal Fenix when not even Sinclair’s elixirs could help him.

And the demi-human. As a Nascent Spirit cultivator, Huntrax knew the speed and casualness in which he demolished his opponents. His sharp eyes saw a cold-blooded killer under that lazy facade. He wasn’t the only one. He’d also heard of Sheina, the white-scaled demi-human doing the same feats.

It was no coincidence that the two demi-human Maugnetics have shown tremendous talent that surpassed even that of geniuses.

Did Reborn know the secret to such harboring of talents?

But that wasn’t even the only thing weird about them. The automobiles, the kiosks, the chocolate ice cream, the deliveries... everything was simply far too fantastical.

And now, the Garrison. He would have never expected that Reborn would be the benefactor that Lady Farren had spoken to him about. And as it turned out, they were also allied with the Royalblood Vampires.

He couldn’t help but feel as if there was something about them. Not something bad. Something... else. Something that was more entwined with fate.

He could feel it. As a Nascent Spirit cultivator, he could sense the different changes in fate. And right now, fate was changing. He didn’t know how. He didn’t know why. But it was.

Eventually, he decided that he wouldn’t be able to find the answer to what’s bugging him.

He had to focus on today. On what he could do.

Right now, they were making great strides in fighting against the Ersatz. They were closer to finding out the truth as to why they were moving.

Huntrax stood high in the air, the wind making his dirty clothes flutter.

He looked up at the orange skies.

”There you are,” he said.

Beneath a layer of reality, he saw a glimpse of a Pocket Dimension just hiding in a space smaller than a pin.

This was where they were holed up. He wouldn’t have even found it this fast if it weren’t for the six factions riling them up and making them vulnerable.

He had to thank the slime for that. Thanks to their fast attacks and sieges, Ersatz had to retreat. And through that retreat, Huntrax found an opening.

And right now, he stood in front of that opening.

He stepped forward, disappearing into the wind.

Huntrax reappeared in a space beyond the world. The skies were pure black, with nothing but the starry skies littering the world around him. The ground underneath his feet was gray, dark, and a complete contrast to the greenery of the world he’d been used to.

Beyond him, he saw a castle. One that was tightly guarded by thousands upon thousands of guards and soldiers, all emanating a strength in the high 5th stage Body Formation realms.

”I’ll have to get serious,” he said.

He took out his weapon. A simple sling. This was the kind of sling that a kid would play with, one that he would use to hit an apple out of a tree.

Yet in the hands of a Heavenly Knight, this weapon was no ordinary object. It was heavenly.

Huntrax stretched the rubber, aiming it towards the castle.

All of this looked normal. He didn’t emanate any kind of magic nor Aubility Power. The guards all over the watch tower didn’t even notice his presence out in the open space.

”Bye bye,” he said.

Then, he released his shot.

In an instant, the power of a Nascent Spirit cultivator was unleashed. The Ersatz members found themselves blown away into dust.

Literally.

Even Maugnetics in the 9th stage of the Body Formation realm weren’t able to protect themselves. The blacks in their eyes rolled back, showing only white.

Inside, their brains had turned to mush.

With that one attack, Huntarx was able to completely kill an entire Stronghold of Ersatz members. Hundreds of thousands of people, dead.

And what’s most surprising was that this wasn’t even an attack. Nothing physical occured. No bullet came out of his sling.

What came out was simply from his mind. From the core in his heart.

Nascent Influence.

The mere idea of a stone bullet killed these Ersatz members. In the apex of Nascent Influence, idea turned solid. Turned real, corporeal.

This was the peak of power. A true Heavenly Knight.
