Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1094: Just a sample

All throughout the 2nd circle of the Feast, an entirely new phenomenon was happening. The customer base was slowly dwindling, and it all seemed to be because of one single thing: the Reborn posters.

Not only was it more eye-catching than even the sample foods that they were putting out in the streets, but it was also generating more conversations from the public!

”Hey, have you heard about McTony’s chicken?”

”That painting looks absolutely delicious. Let’s go and see!”

These customers who were supposed to be eating at their restaurant, were instead travelling all the way to the center of the Feast to try out this new chicken.

The Upper Echelon companies were absolutely baffled after hearing about this.

So, they quickly investigated and found one of the posters being handed out.

”They’re made with Aubility Power. That’s how it’s catching everyone’s attention.”

”I can sense the echoes of multiple Maugnetics in the product. That’s... that’s impossible!”

These Upper Echelon companies knew just how difficult it was to create a product made with the collaboration of multiple Maugnetics, especially those with an artistic talent.

By definition, each Maugnetic was unique on their own. They had their own different talents, and usually, they clashed against each other. This was because everyone had their own vision about what ’art’ could be.

So, when multiple Maugnetic Artists try to create a single product, it would almost certainly end up as a total mess. Either one of them would win out against the others, or each talent would cancel each other out, creating a mediocre and half-done product.

But this poster was completely the opposite.

It must have been made by ten or more Maugnetics, yet they were able to have a singular vision that allowed them to create a product that was mountains beyond what they could individually achieve. It was multiplicative instead of additive.

”What kind of company would specialize in rearing Maugnetic Artists like these?”

”Only a high ranking company could invest in Maugnetic Artists like that.”

So, they investigated the poster even further. The answer was clearly written on bold letters.

”McTony’s chicken? Everyone’s raving about this new product? It’s not even—”

They were about to say something about the strange looking fried chicken in the poster, but as soon as they focused on the chicken, they were transported into an intimate restaurant, with the McTony’s chicken in their hands, ready to eat.

Even they couldn’t help but admit that the chicken looked scrumptious. In fact, if they weren’t in the competition, they probably would have wanted to buy one for themselves.

They knew that this didn’t just come from the poster itself. The Maugnetics simply amplified the senses of the product, like its perceived taste, its scent, and its crunchy outer layer.

In short, the fried chicken itself was good.

Because of this, many companies in the 2nd layer of the Feast, decided to send a scout to find out the mystery of whose company this McTony’s restaurant belonged to.

So, the spies ended up travelling to the center area of the Feast. And there, they saw a strange sight.

A large crowd had gathered in the pathways, leaving only a small path for people to walk on.

Multiple stalls had their employees out, shouting at the top of their lungs, trying their best to lure these customers to their restaurant.

But to no avail. They didn’t want to leave the giant queue they were on, or else they’d have to wait another hour before they could get inside.

They followed the flow of the crowd, eventually seeing them squeeze through the tight passageway between two company stalls, leading to the back.

”What is this... is there even a restaurant there?”

And usually, with a crowd this big, people would get bored and become impatient. But somehow, they didn’t. The crowd only got more intrigued the bigger it got.

Just then, the spies heard a sound echoing throughout the entire area.

It was an instrumental song. Light, lively, and very easy to listen to.

They easily deduced the song itself to be made by Maugnetic Musicians. But somehow, the amplifying effect wasn’t part of it.

Then, dispersed throughout the rhythmic orchestra, was a choir singing:

”PA PARAPAPA! I REALLY LOVE THIS!”

It was short and catchy enough to not be annoying even though it had been playing nonstop throughout the entire day. People didn’t even notice it at first, as the song itself was designed to be an invisible, background music.

But somehow, they would end up repeating that catchphrase throughout the day.

Even the spies subconsciously mimed to the song in their minds while they waited in the queue.

”... pa parapapa...”

The spies couldn’t help but be alarmed. Were they using some kind of viral worm implanted through the song?!

But they didn’t have the time to wonder about that. The queue finally led them to the restaurant.

And there, they saw an entirely new world.

The restaurant itself looked bright, with multiple lights beaming down from the tent poles. Then, pictures of the fried chicken were posted all over the walls, making it look even more appetizing than before. It didn’t help that the scent of the chicken was the most concentrated here.

”Hello, welcome to McTony’s. May I take your order?”

...

...

...

The Upper Echelon companies waiting for their spies to come back were starting to get impatient. It had been hours since they sent them out on the mission, and they still hadn’t returned!

At first, they thought that their spies had been caught. But then, just before the second day ended, their spies finally returned.

And with gifts, it seemed.

With them were multiple strangely-shaped boxes which were still smoking from the heat.

”What were you guys doing? We only sent you out to scout our competition!”

The spies kneeled. ”We’re sorry boss! We originally wanted to gather more information... but we ended up losing track of time.”

Their leader frowned. ”Was the queue really that long? I’ve heard about it even here in the 2nd circle.”

”Well, yes. But that’s not the reason why we were late. We... we lost track of time while eating!”

The other members of their company were completely befuddled by their spies’ confession. All of that time... they were just eating? And here they thought they were being tortured for information!

”Before you scold us, boss. We’ve brought take out from McTony’s restaurant!”

”Take out?”

The people here had never heard of that term.

The spies then opened up the small, hand-held cardboard boxes from their cart.

And there, their leaders saw a myriad of fried chicken and all of their varieties ready to be eaten!

”Boss, you have to try this for yourself. That’s why we bought them all.”

Their leader’s face was dark. ”You... bought all of these? So you gave our opponent more tokens?”

The spies knew that they wouldn’t get out of this one without a proper excuse, so all they could do was get everyone on board.

”Please try it out!”

Their leader looked at the box of fried chicken being presented to him with a wary look.

His face remained stoic. But then, his stomach started to rumble.

”Maybe just a taste,” he said.

And as soon as he took a single bite, his eyes widened. His employees thought he was being poisoned.

”Boss! Spit that out!”

But before they could slap his back and forcefully regurgitate the ’poison’, their leader immediately swatted their hands.

Then, without saying anything else, he began to devour the chicken within a few bites.

His employees were completely dumbfounded when they saw this. Their leader was notoriously picky with his food! He didn’t even eat their own products!

”Is it really good?” asked one of their employees, before he reached out to one of the take out boxes to taste.

But then, their boss immediately moved at the speed of light and blocked him from taking one.

”No. This... this sample is only for me. For research purposes,” he said. Then, he turned to his spies.

”You. Go buy more samples for these guys to study. And more for me too. A two-piece chicken would be nice. Extra spicy, with bread and mayo on the side. Just to study!”

His employees were stunned. Was... was their leader addicted to eating one of their opponent’s food? He was totally contradicting himself from earlier!

...

...

...

At the end of the second day, it became painfully clear who owned the McTony’s restaurant.

The infamous Reborn company.

When they heard that the Reborn company was somehow able to squeeze themselves into the feast, they thought it was a nuisance, but it was manageable.

After all, Reborn would be placed at the worst possible location in the Feast. They’d be lucky to get a few tokens by the end of the week.

And the first day proved that. According to the official rankings by Vought, the Reborn company had zero tokens for the entire time.

But now, on the second day, they suddenly burst onto the scene, completely stealing everyone’s customers!

They had suddenly jumped to the top of 40th place in one fell swoop!
