Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 138: Enjoy the festival

A simple 2-star Mystical Arts spell called [Swift Step] conjured a gust of wind that would push an individual to a faster speed.

Meanwhile, a similar 2-star Physical Arts spell also called [Swift Step] allowed an individual to reach a faster speed, but it was achieved by imbuing the individual with Air mana, changing their molecular composition to give them the physical ability to run as fast as the wind.

Although the effects of the two spells were mostly the same, the application and magic theory were vastly different between the two.

Does that mean that you don’t can’t create Physical Arts spells?

[This software does not have sufficient knowledge to deconstruct and synthesize Physical Art spells.]

This made sense since Michael learned the majority of his spells through the Magic Library in the Magic Tower. And since mages and wizards only used Mystical Arts spells, they didn’t bother to learn any Physical Arts spells.

[It is best to personally observe more Physical Art spells so that the system can learn its magic theory.]

As expected, ChatJK3 was urging him to get more knowledge so that it could upgrade its software once again. Thankfully, he was already planning on exploring the Queens region, so he would have a lot of chances to ’steal’ more magic theories.

Of course, he would also try to recruit more demi-humans while he was there. According to the Dragonborns, the living situation in the Queens region wasn’t that ideal for most demi-humans. Some had to resort to begging in the streets and living in the slums.

”Is it that bad over there?” he asked them.

”It is for low-ranking demi-humans like we were. I found it hard to find a job because there were a lot of other humans who could do the work the same or even better than us,” Jaku explained, creasing his brow ridge as he remembered their living situation.

”It pains me to know that we still have friends still stuck in that place,” Sheina lamented. ”They don’t believe that there’s anything to find in the Parched Lands. So, they settled to live their lives in the Queens region despite its conditions.”

Michael nodded his head and understood their dilemma. This was not the first time that one of the Rebornians had expressed their guilt at living good lives in the Nation of Reborn while other demi-humans were suffering in other places in the world.

”Don’t worry,” he said to them. ”I’m planning on going there in the near future to spread my company, so they’ll eventually learn about our nation. It will just be a matter of time until everyone can live a comfortable life just like us.

But for now, why don’t you all go out and enjoy our festival on your own? See for yourself what you’ve decided to protect with your own lives.”

…

…

…

A couple of hours later, the sun was finally on its last legs, leaving a reddish hue on the horizon. By now, most of the people visiting the nation had settled down and found an inn to store their luggage.

And just as he expected, the Tree House hostel prepared by the Satyrs was quite the popular lodging among the people visiting.

Those who were lucky enough to book a room of their own only realized how fortunate they were once the darkness descended into the Nation and was replaced by the light brought on by the street lamps and the glow coming from each room in every building.

Having an elevated view from atop the treehouses truly gave them an otherworldly experience.

”Woah… the stars…they’ve descended…”

”It was true! This is truly a paradise on earth. I want to live here forever!”

”Why is this view only for this nation? I would pay all the gold coins I have so that I could have this view in my house.”

Although this sight was quite normal for Michael, this was quite a rare thing for the people in this world, even for people who saw magic on a regular basis.

For example, Seberus and the other mages and wizards from the Magic Tower could only look on in stunned silence as they finally stepped foot on the famous Nation of Reborn.

”Is this the 7-star spell [Constellation Manifestation]?” a wizard asked as he and a couple of other mages floated in the air above the glowing nation.

”No, there’s no magic involved in those lights,” a mage answered. ”It’s just…reality.”

”Tower Master, how is this possible?” they asked Seberus.

But the only thing that the white-bearded old man could answer was, ”Michael.”

And that was enough of an explanation.

It wasn’t just the new magic-less inventions that impressed the mages and everyone who visited the Nation of Reborn. It was the lavishness in everything here.

All sharp-eyed individuals noticed that one of the rarest and most sought-after materials in the world: Damascus Steel, was so common in this place that every building and structure was made out of it. Even the garbage cans on every street were lined with Damascus, as if littering was such a grave problem.

Even the Dwarven Kingdom wasn’t so wasteful! The production efficiency of this nation truly was something to be amazed at.

It would be a lie to say that the mages didn’t feel envious of the Rebornians, even more so when they found out that every single one of them had a Mithril Artifact of their own.

”I thought Mithril was supposed to be rare. But, they’re using it for…rakes.”

”Tower Master. Please increase my salary. I really want a Mithril Wand of my own.”

They could order a wand artifact from the Rebornians, but it cost a hefty amount of gold coins because each one was customized for each person.

”At this point, I want to cut ties with the Magic Tower and just become a Rebornian,” the mage said, half joking and half telling the truth.

”Stop complaining,” Seberus scolded them. ”I thought we are supposed to be cut off from all worldly desires—”

His words were suddenly cut off when the loudspeakers of the stage suddenly emitted a crackling sound.

A few seconds after that, a single strum of a guitar was broadcast all over the nation.
