Immortal of the Nine Realms

Fang Yue stepped forward and offered his greetings. ”Clan Leader, Brother Fang.”

Fang Longshan waved his hand dismissively. ”Continue instructing. There’s nothing for you to do here.”

Fang Yue’s face went rigid. An awkward smile appeared on his face as he turned to continue instructing.

Meanwhile, Fang Chen followed Fang Longshan to a shaded area and watched the children on the martial grounds.

Fang Longshan looked at the children before him and sighed. ”Lord Fang, the most talented members of the Fang Clan’s younger generation are all gathered here.”

If even one divine ability user could emerge from among these children, then his position as clan leader would not have been in vain.

A trace of flowing radiance flashed through Fang Chen’s gray-white pupils. Then, everything before him became transparent. Flesh, bones, meridians, blood, and qi all appeared before Fang Chen in the form of gray-white lines.

Whenever the children moved in accordance to the Blazing Fist, their qi and blood would surge like a tide, stirring up stormy waves that roared through them.

It had to be said that the Blazing Fist truly produced a trace of extraordinary effect upon them. At the very least, when he had practiced the Blazing Fist in the past, it had never displayed such effects. At most, it merely strengthened the body. This had nothing to do with spiritual energy or immortal essence. Naturally, the issue lay within the human body itself.

Seeing Fang Chen scrutinizing the youths so seriously, his gray-white eyes utterly lifeless, Fang Longshan could not help but wonder if Fang CHen was really blind. He wondered if perhaps divine ability users no longer needed their eyes to see.

Fang Longshan suppressed the suspicion in his heart. Regardless, the man before him was unquestionably a genuine divine ability user. He had personally verified it himself.

After watching for some time, Fang Chen’s expression suddenly shifted. He discovered that after the children’s qi and blood surged, it would rush toward certain bones within their bodies. Those locations were not fixed. Some surged toward a bone above the chest. Some toward the leg bones. Some toward the arm bones. Some toward the skull.

Fang Chen silently counted. One, two, three...

Two hundred ninety-nine...

He then looked toward the others, even toward Fang Yue.

Fang Chen’s expression gradually turned grave. They all have two hundred ninety-nine bones, nine more than the humans of the Nine Mortal Realms. They have nine extra bones.

As long as these children practiced the Blazing Fist, their qi and blood would impact those nine bones. Three were located in the head, two in the chest, and one in each limb, totaling nine.

The humans of the Nine Mortal Realms didn’t have these nine additional bones.

So the key to awakening divine abilities lies within these nine bones? But why do they have nine more bones than the humans of the Nine Mortal Realms?

Fang Chen pondered for a long time before suddenly turning toward Fang Longshan. ”Clan Leader Fang, arrange a few people for me. I’ll personally teach them the Blazing Fist.”

Fang Longshan’s face lit up with joy. He quickly pointed toward the children. ”You can choose however you like, Lord Fang. I’ll simply inform Fang Yue.”

”Any will do. Six will be enough, three boys and three girls.”

Fang Longshan immediately nodded. ”Very well. At this same time tomorrow, I’ll personally send them to Lord Fang’s residence.”

”I’ll take my leave first.”

Fang Chen rose and departed.

After escorting him out of the martial grounds, Fang Longshan immediately returned.

Fang Yue had been secretly observing the two the entire time. Once Fang Chen was gone, he immediately voiced out his doubts. ”Clan Leader, what exactly did that man come here for?”

”It’s nothing major. Choose six children from among these little ones with the best talent. Three boys and three girls. Tomorrow, send them to Fang Chen’s place. He’ll personally teach them the Blazing Fist.”

Fang Longshan casually gave the order before leaving with his hands behind his back, not even giving Fang Yue a chance to speak.

Fang Yue stood there dumbfounded. Soon after, anger surfaced in his eyes. ”This is utterly absurd!”

The most talented children should naturally cultivate the Blazing Fist under his guidance. How could they possibly be handed over to someone whose background had not even been thoroughly investigated!?

However, since Fang Longshan had personally given the order, he had no choice but to obey.

After pondering for a while, Fang Yue called over three boys and three girls with a dark expression.

Looking at the six exceptionally talented juniors, Fang Yue felt reluctant, but he still followed the order.

”Starting tomorrow, you will no longer cultivate the Blazing Fist under me.”

The six of them were immediately shocked. The oldest among them, a young girl, asked in alarm, ”Instructor Fang, did we do something wrong?”

All six became extremely flustered.

”If we made mistakes, we’ll correct them! Please don’t drive us away, Instructor Fang!”

”That’s right! Please don’t send us away!”

Nearby, the other boys and girls watching the scene revealed strange expressions. Some even laughed in schadenfreude.

”You didn’t do anything wrong. This is the clan leader’s order. But don’t worry. Even if you no longer practice under me, someone else will still teach you the Blazing Fist. When you return home tonight, explain the matter clearly to your parents. Come here again tomorrow, and I’ll bring you to meet your new instructor.”

Fang Yue waved his hand before turning and leaving.

That very night, the six children hurried home and explained the situation. Their elders immediately stormed toward Fang Longshan’s residence, causing a huge commotion. Awakened by the noise, Fang Longshan came into the courtyard and saw the furious crowd gathered there demanding answers. He immediately shouted, ”What are all of you doing!?”

”Clan Leader, are you trying to suppress us!?”

”If you don’t give us an explanation today, then we’ll split from the clan!”

”That’s right, let’s split! If our descendants aren’t even allowed to practice the Blazing Fist, what’s the point of staying here!?”

Fang Longshan instantly realized the reason for their uproar. He became so angry that he laughed. ”You people didn’t even clarify the situation before causing trouble here. Who said your descendants aren’t allowed to practice the Blazing Fist?”

An old man looked suspicious. ”Then why did my grandson come home crying, saying the clan leader ordered him not to train under Fang Yue anymore?”

”That’s because I intend to find a better teacher for the six of them.” Fang Longshan sighed softly. ”Trust me in this matter. I won’t make a mistake.”

The old man frowned. ”A better teacher? Aside from the clan leader himself, who in the clan could possibly surpass Instructor Fang? Unless the clan leader intends to personally teach my grandson? If that’s the case, then I can accept it.”

Fang Longshan shook his head. ”It’s not me.”

Someone’s expression suddenly became strange. ”Not you? Then could it be... don’t tell me it’s that person?”

One after another, the crowd guessed the truth.

The old man spoke in a deep voice. ”Clan Leader, I heard that some blind man accidentally wandered into the martial grounds not long ago, and that you took him in, arranging for him to stay at Instructor Fang’s residence. Could it be that you intend for him to teach the Blazing Fist?”

”Exactly.” Fang Longshan waved his hand. ”I won’t harm any of you. Go back now. Don’t let outsiders laugh at us.”

The old man’s voice gradually turned cold. ”I don’t know whether outsiders will laugh, but I’d certainly like to know how a blind man is supposed to teach martial arts.”

”Back then, regarding Fang Sheng and Fang Yue, the clan leader already acted unfairly. You suppressed my son, and now you want to suppress my grandson too?”
