Immortal of the Nine Realms

In the Qingming, the Black Dragon Immortal Boat, sped swiftly through the void.

Little Immortal Honglian looked over curiously. ”Senior Sister, where exactly in the Lower Six Realms are we heading this time?”

”The Ancient Desolate Realm,” Senior Sister replied with a faint smile, before turning to Fang Chen. ”Junior Brother Fang, have you ever heard of the Heavenly Saint Sect of the Ancient Desolate Realm?”

”I seem to have heard of it,” Fang Chen said.

He was slightly surprised. Is she planning on raiding Wang Chongsong’s old sect?

But knowing Wang Chongsong’s cautious nature, he probably wouldn’t have left anything of true value hidden within the Heavenly Saint Sect.

”Mm,” she continued, ”The Heavenly Saint Sect is a Dao Sect as well. Since you come from the Ancient Desolate Realm and were born in the lineage of Dao Sects, I’ll be needing your help with something this time.”

Little Immortal Honglian’s expression turned slightly uneasy. ”With Fellow Daoist Fang’s cultivation...”

”The Heavenly Saint Sect may be harboring something very important to me,” said Senior Sister. ”But I suspect that within it lies a hidden eighth-transformation Ancient Immortal. The Immortal Boat Formation cannot be used in the Lower Six Realms. It’s forbidden here, and with only this Black Dragon, I cannot fight an eighth-transformation Ancient Immortal head-on.”

She explained, ”So we’ll take a subtler route. You’ll enter the Heavenly Saint Sect as a guest elder and investigate the whereabouts of that item. I already have some clues. Once you confirm the item’s presence, leave the rest to me.”

An eighth transformation-Ancient Immortal is hidden in the Heavenly Saint Sect?

Fang Chen was shocked. If an eighth transformation Ancient Immortal truly resided in the Ancient Desolate Realm, why had there been no news at all? Especially since after the incident with Wang Chongsong, the sect’s disciples had been repeatedly suppressed by the Spirit God Sect.

Song Zhili, also from the Heavenly Saint Sect, and Wang Chongsong’s junior, had been exiled to a remote world like the Creation Star to serve as a mere caretaker.

If an eighth transformation Ancient Immortal truly existed there, hiding his presence so carefully, what was his purpose? Could it be related to Little Immortal Honglian’s homeland?

But what intrigued Fang Chen more was the object their senior sister spoke of.

Could it be the Grand Limitless Divine Mirror? Was Wang Chongsong still deceiving her?

”Senior sister,” Little Immortal Honglian said anxiously, ”If there truly is an eighth-transformation immortal within the Heavenly Saint Sect, wouldn’t it be far too dangerous for Fellow Daoist Fang to go there alone?”

”Junior Brother Fang isn’t a core disciple yet, nor is he your Dao companion,” their senior sister teased. ”What’s the matter? Are you already worrying about him so early on?”

Little Immortal Honglian blinked, slightly caught off guard. She softly replied, ”Junior Brother Fang is, after all, one of my team members. If it’s too dangerous, I don’t want him getting involved.”

She was clearly speaking now in her capacity as a core disciple of the Enlightenment God Palace. Although the difference in cultivation between them was immense, and their senior sister’s standing within the palace was far higher, Little Immortal Honglian still chose to speak up this way.

Seeing her earnest expression, their senior sister could only smile. ”Don’t worry. I’ll be watching closely. If anything truly dangerous happens, I’ll simply appear in person as a core disciple of the Enlightenment God Palace and take him away.

”And as for that eighth-transformation Ancient Immortal, so what if he’s there? Unless he’s a ninth-transformation monster, even he’ll have to tread carefully when he hears the name of the Enlightenment God Palace.”

”If Fellow Daoist Fang is unwilling...” Little Immortal Honglian began, turning toward Fang Chen.

Fang Chen thought for a moment, then nodded slightly. ”It’s a small favor. As your junior brother, I should help. The Candle Dragon Immortal Boat Senior Sister granted me is already an invaluable gift. It’s only right that I repay some of that debt.”

”Exactly,” Senior Sister said, smiling. ”That’s how the world works. I give you the Candle Dragon Immortal Boat, you help me with this matter.”

”The thing I want you to find,” she continued, ”is called the Grand Limitless Divine Mirror. Its origin is special. It’s an artifact belonging to the Enlightenment Underworld Realm. Such a special artifact cannot exist long in the Mortal Realm unless preserved by special means. And within the Nine Mortal Realms, only Dao sects possess such means. Few others have that knowledge.”

She continued, ”When the time comes, I’ll give you a treasure. If you approach the Grand Limitless Divine Mirror, it will alert you. Once that happens, your task will be complete. I’ll handle the rest myself.”

It really is the Grand Limitless Divine Mirror.

Fang Chen’s expression didn’t change in the slightest. ”I’ll do my best to carry out Senior Sister’s instructions.”

”Of course,” she added. ”But if you can’t find it, that’s fine too. The information was purchased from the Immortal Worshipping Palace, and their intel isn’t always accurate. 10 years. If you can’t locate it in 10 years, we’ll simply return to the Upper Three Realms.”

After she spoke, she began studying a star map, looking for the fastest route to the Heavenly Saint Sect.

Fang Chen was mildly surprised. Even she buys intelligence from the Immortal Worshipping Palace?

He was reminded of the Demonic Fiend Mountain Range, where Wang Chongsong had told her, so confidently, that the Grand Limitless Divine Mirror was held by the Ancient Dragon God Palace of the Shenwang Realm. He wondered if she had realized yet that she’d never truly believed him.

”Fellow Daoist Fang,” Little Immortal Honglian whispered through a voice transmission, ”You could refuse this task. A sect guarded by an eighth-transformation Ancient Immortal isn’t to be taken lightly. The forces behind it might be linked to the Blood and Flesh Divine Palace or the Taiyi Immortal Sect.If something goes wrong, even a core disciple of the Enlightenment God Palace might not be able to save you.”

”It’s fine,” Fang Chen said with a light smile. ”I’ll be cautious.”

He was interested in the Grand Limitless Divine Mirror as well, and besides, Wang Chongsong’s goals were nearly identical to his own now.

Since the senior sister’s attention was turning toward the Heavenly Saint Sect, if the mirror truly was there and she reclaimed it, it might interfere with Wang Chongsong’s plans. He had to stay involved no matter what, to seize the initiative.

No matter whether the mirror was there or not, he had to tell her it wasn’t.

The senior sister likely chose him because of his background and impressive talent, but she probably hadn’t realized that he might be working against her.

Using the star map, she quickly found a shortcut. Through several great teleportation formations, they traveled swiftly across the heavens, reaching the Heavenly Saint Sect’s territory in less than half a year.

The moment the Black Dragon appeared, the surrounding void froze solid, as if seized by some overwhelming force.

Even Fang Chen found himself unable to move a single muscle.

Little Immortal Honglian’s eyes widened in shock.

The senior sister’s expression, however, turned as dark as storm clouds.

”The information from the Immortal Worshipping Palace was false,” she said coldly. ”I’ve been deceived! Hmph! This may involve some of the core disciples of our Enlightenment God Palace. Only a handful of people knew what I was searching for. I’ll find a chance to send you both away. Don’t look back. I won’t die that easily.”

Her voice echoed in Fang Chen’s and Little Immortal Honglian’s minds.

Deceived?

Both of them were stunned.

The next instant, a colossal handprint filled the sky. It radiated blinding Buddhist light as it came crashing straight toward the Black Dragon.

Its mere presence exuded a suffocating power that made both Fang Chen and Little Immortal Honglian’s scalps prickle in terror.

Its owner could only be an Ancient Immortal.

An Ancient Immortal had laid a trap for the senior sister! Someone was targeting them!

”Those bald monks from the Rulai Monastery?” she sneered.

But before her words had even faded, a second power erupted nearby, a blazing divine cauldron wreathed in searing flames, striking in concert with the handprint toward the Black Dragon.

Its aura was no weaker than the first.

A second Ancient Immortal had intervened!

With two Ancient Immortals fighting, and them not having the protection of the Immortal Boat Formation, this was no doubt a situation of certain death!
