Immortal of the Nine Realms

The Great Desolate Immortal smiled wryly and shook his head, his expression sincere. ”You two might have misunderstood. I have no connection whatsoever with the Spirit God Sect.”

”Is that so?” Lady Suya furrowed her brows. ”As far as I know, the path you walk as an immortal is the Blood Flesh Demon Immortal path, right?

”This path is rare throughout the Nine Realms. Most forces only have fourth-transformation practitioners on this path. Among those who have reached the fifth transformation, besides the Spirit God Sect, there is no other.”

Blood Flesh Demon Immortal?

Fang Chen’s expression changed. He finally understood why the Great Desolate Immortal’s aura felt strange. The moment he saw him, he had sensed there was something unusual contained within this person’s body.

If he truly followed the Blood Flesh Demon Immortal path, it made sense.

He had heard about this path from Chen Lingting before. This path belonged to the demons, but humans could also follow it. However, because the heritage was incomplete, even demons rarely choose it. They preferred the more common immortal paths that human cultivators take, such as the Loose Immortal Path.

The Spirit God Sect controlled the Blood Flesh Demon Immortal path, so its highest level was only the fifth transformation.

No cultivator would willingly limit their future to the fifth transformation unless forced.

In terms of combat power, the Blood Flesh Demon Immortal path ranked above average in the middle tier. Those who took the path would undergo a great transformation of their flesh and blood.

He suspected the Great Desolate Immortal’s strange aura was because inside this aged body was a powerful sea of blood.

His physical strength was likely no weaker than a fifth transformation sword cultivator, possibly even stronger.

After all, a sword cultivator’s Sword Body was not the core of the Sword Path; the core lies in sword intent and sword domain.

The Great Desolate Immortal sighed. ”Sigh... after reaching the fourth transformation, this old man hasn’t fought anyone again. How did you two conclude that I am a fifth transformation Blood Flesh Demon Immortal?”

His promotions to the fourth and fifth transformations had both gone smoothly, without encountering any evenly matched enemies. Most of his attacks were overwhelming, leaving no survivors. Even if there were survivors, it would be hard for them to discern which immortal path he followed.

So far, not even his own clan knew exactly which path he was on.

For a cultivator, this was a very private matter and something generally taboo to ask about. No one would inquire unless they were really close.

But these two from the Lesser Immortal Realm already knew he was a fifth transformation Blood Flesh Demon Immortal. This meant they came fully prepared, with information even more complete than he had expected.

Lady Suya smiled and suddenly tugged at her sleeve, revealing slender, tender fingers as white and smooth as congealed fat.

She dipped a finger into the tea before her and wrote a single character on the table. ”Jiang.”

The Great Desolate Immortal fell silent upon seeing the character.

Fang Chen stepped forward to take a look as well.

Jiang?

A big figure?

Someone connected to the Great Desolate Immortal?

”Back then, it was this person who helped you advance to the fifth transformation, wasn’t it?” Lady Suya smiled. ”Now, Great Desolate Immortal, are you willing to speak candidly with us?”

After a few moments, the Great Desolate Immortal suddenly chuckled softly and cupped his hands. ”You flatter me. Since you know this, you must be friends. I’m willing to speak openly.”

He paused, then said, ”I am indeed a cultivator of the Spirit God Sect, but I don’t hold any official position.”

”You are an enforcement cultivator of the Spirit God Sect, so naturally, you don’t manage affairs; those are handled by your colleagues within the Sect,” Lady Suya smiled. ”In this regard, many Spirit God Sect cultivators cannot compare to you.”

The Great Desolate Immortal mused, ”Lady Suya, why have you come today? Who are you representing? As far as I know, recently in the Ancient Desolate Realm, only one person has gotten into trouble and is now detained.”

Enforcers.

Fang Chen’s expression shifted slightly. Are these two here to plead for Song Zhili?

That shouldn’t be necessary, right?

What Song Zhili can accomplish, Xu Changshi can as well. There should be no need to make a special trip.

”I know that Song Zhili was careless with the Frost Water Immortal Flame in his hands, and it was stolen. That’s why he was detained,” Ji Tiandu said.

The Great Desolate Immortal glanced at him and shook his head lightly. ”That’s not the main reason. We have many enemies; it’s common for people to come after us. If we lose, we fight back.”

”If it were only because of that, there would be many people arrested in our sect. How could they possibly catch them all? The real issue is that Song Zhili lost the Frost Water Immortal Flame and didn’t report it immediately. That’s a taboo in the Spirit God Sect.”

Ji Tiandu was slightly stunned. He asked, ”What would have happened if he had reported it?”

The Great Desolate Immortal thought for a moment, unsure of the relationship between these two and Song Zhili. He replied tactfully, ”He would be temporarily detained for investigation. Once the matter is clarified, he will be released naturally.”

Ji Tiandu sighed. ”So, his trouble might be related to us. We’ve inadvertently dragged him into this.”

The Great Desolate Immortal looked at the two and frowned. ”Why say that?”

”Song Zhili probably postponed reporting because he wanted to help us with a small favor. He didn’t intend to harm the interests of the Spirit God Sect,” Ji Tiandu explained.

”Speaking of which, what favor do you want me to help with? Since I’ve been straightforward, please be frank,” the Great Desolate Immortal said, his gaze shifting.

Lady Suya repeated to him what she had told Song Zhili before.

”To plot against an Anomaly...” The Great Desolate Immortal’s expression tightened. ”You fear the Taiyi Chamber of Commerce knowing about this, but aren’t you afraid the Spirit God Sect will find out?”

Plotting against an anomaly definitely involved something unspeakable.

Though anomalies occasionally operate in the Nine Realms, rarely do their actions affect major powers. Because of their special status, most factions avoid dealing with these individuals, often turning a blind eye.

The Great Desolate Immortal began to speculate silently on why they wanted to plot against this anomaly.

Lady Suya smiled. ”Our relations with the Spirit God Sect are fairly good, so even if your sect learns of this, it won’t harm us. Besides, Great Desolate Immortal, you are a sensible man. We don’t want too many people to know about this matter, and you have no reason to spread it around.”

”You want to force that anomaly to show itself. If he has a deep attachment to his birthplace, your method might indeed force him out. However, this will provoke a strong reaction from the Killing Spiritual Division, which we must consider,” the Great Desolate Immortal mused. ”If there were no such concerns, this would be a simple matter.”

”Great Desolate Immortal, don’t worry. The Killing Spiritual Division has agreed to give us face. As long as the Spirit God Sect agrees to one of their conditions, they won’t interfere,” said Ji Tiandu, raising his chin.

He couldn’t help but feel prideful. After all, it was all thanks to him that this agreement came to fruition.

”What condition?”

”For a hundred years, reduce all Spirit God Sect affairs on the Creation Star by 50 percent.”

The Great Desolate Immortal frowned. ”Song Zhili agreed to this?”

To save face for the Lesser Immortal Realm, they are sacrificing the Spirit God Sect’s interests?

The two seemed unaware that they had just handed the Great Desolate Immortal a strong leverage over Song Zhili.

”The benefit we promised Song Zhili was an immortal herb to advance to the fourth transformation. Now, if Great Desolate Immortal is willing to help us, we will give you the same benefit. We will give you a single immortal herb that can promote one to the fourth transformation,” Lady Suya said.
