Immortal of the Nine Realms

Fang Chen was not here in his divine soul form. Rather, he was using the Shadow Buddha Technique. This technique was derived from the Heavenly Abhorrence Technique, Yin Lunar Divine Beast, and based on his years of research into dao techniques, he could deduce that it was a form of evasion technique.

As long as he did not exude any killing intent, even if a master stood before him, it would be difficult for them to see through this technique without special means. He had followed Bao Yuanqing all the way, and the latter had not noticed anything amiss, a testament to the technique’s effectiveness.

The one addressed as Sister Yu, the woman beside Bao Yuanqing, was Gai Wu’s mother without a doubt. She was Yu Qingmei, Heavenly King Zhen’s concubine.

A few years ago, Fang Chen had learned about this woman’s family background; she was a member of the Yu Family, an immortal family with a Profound Immortal ancestor residing in the second-tier empire, Li Xiao.

Although this was a second-tier empire, having a Profound Immortal made it one of the stronger ones among the generally weaker second-tier empires that only had Soul Splitting Realm cultivators. The Yu Family was part of the Lixiao royal family, inheriting a profound inheritance and boasting a strong background. They were nobles.

It was said that one year, Heavenly King Zhen traveled to inspect the various countries for the current emperor and, while passing through Lixiao, fell in love at first sight with Yu Qingmei.

Yu Qingmei forced a smile. ”Princess Pingxian, regarding my son’s matter, I won’t bring it up to avoid dampening the spirits of my sisters.”

The woman who questioned her wore a touch of makeup; her stunning face exuded a hint of heroism, and every action she took displayed an air of nobility. She was Princess Pingxian, the first princess of the Central Continent.

Princess Pingxian smiled and said, ”Sister Yu, you have worried for many years over Gai Wu’s matter, but didn’t you hear that his health has mostly recovered? What troubles do you still have? Why not share them, and we sisters can think of a way to help you.”

”Yes, that’s right! Sister Yu, go ahead and speak. With Princess Pingxian here today, if you have been wronged, she will surely stand up for you.”

”We are all sisters here. If you need help, just let us know. Though we are of the fairer sex, we can still show loyalty like the men; we won’t be any less than them.”

Fang Chen frowned.

If Yu Qingmei asked Princess Pingxian to intervene, things would certainly become more complicated. Princess Pingxian’s cultivation wasn’t weak; she was a Dao Union Realm cultivator. Furthermore, as the first princess of the Central Continent, she could undoubtedly summon powerful Profound Immortal experts.

If such entities got involved, it would inevitably lead to some trouble.

Yu Qingmei looked gratefully at Princess Pingxian. ”Thanks, everyone. Just now, I sent someone from my family to seek out Fang Chen, wanting to learn the whereabouts of the Demoness Yu from him. But who would have guessed that he would flatly refuse? Naturally, this makes me very furious.

”You all should know that the Demoness Yu has cultivated the Inverse Immortal Demonic Embryo, which means she is on the path to becoming a demon. What’s the difference between that and being afflicted by a calamity? She will undoubtedly kill many cultivators to strengthen herself. Moreover, my son was severely injured because of this woman, losing something that is most important to men.…”

Yu Qingmei’s voice turned choked, seemingly on the verge of tears. ”All I want is to find this woman to avenge my son and rid the Central Continent of this demon.”

The women exchanged glances, fully aware of who Fang Chen was—the sword leader of the Void Immortal Sword Sect. Just yesterday, he had suppressed the Kunlun Sword Sect’s Nascent Soul Realm sword cultivator, Wu Changzai, by performing a sword dance.

Not long ago, he was even accepted as a disciple by the esteemed Master Ji of the Desolate Academy. All these identities combined not only matched their own backgrounds but surpassed them in prestige. Perhaps only Princess Pingxian’s lineage was not overshadowed by him.

Princess Pingxian pondered. ”Sister Yu, about that matter… didn’t the Heavenly King Zhen Manor and the Void Immortal Sword Sect come to an understanding? There are traces of the Spirit Blood Sect behind this issue; you are being used by them. The Spirit Blood Sect hopes to incite a conflict between the manor and the sword sect, but their calculations are too naive. ℝÀＮ𝔬B̧

”What sort of individuals are Heavenly King Zhen and the old Sword Immortal? How could they be so easily deceived? Since the matter has already been resolved, why do you still need to pursue it?”

Yu Qingmei’s expression shifted slightly. She replied somewhat awkwardly, ”I was just expressing my indignation earlier. Now that I think about it, I have indeed been too stubborn. This matter can really be put to rest.”

Princess Pingxian’s lips curved slightly upward. ”It’s best if you let it rest, Sister Yu. Moreover. Fang Chen has an unusual status. It’s better to avoid being at odds with him if possible. If there are any misunderstandings between you, it would be wise to resolve them sooner rather than later.”

Yu Qingmei dared not contradict her and could only nod silently.

A beautiful woman suddenly chuckled lightly. ”Princess Pingxian, I’ve only seen Fang Chen from afar and never interacted with him. From what I have seen and heard, he’s a truly talented man. It’s a pity he is blind. Fortunately, though, I heard he has developed eye techniques. Such a fine gentleman; I wonder which family’s daughter is fortunate enough to become his partner and cultivate together with him?”

Everyone seemed quite interested in this topic, chiming in and casually mentioning various young women waiting for marriage, commenting on each of them.

Princess Pingxian wore a gentle smile. ”Ladies, Sword Leader Fang is still young; even if he seeks a partner, it will surely be after he ascends to the Middle Three Realms.”

As the discussion about Fang Chen continued, Yu Qingmei felt increasingly uncomfortable and took the lead in excusing herself.

Fang Chen walked in the shadows, following the two women to a quiet room in the Jade Tower.

Bang!

Yu Qingmei waved her sleeve, shattering the green jade table before her. A terrifying force swept out from her body, instantly turning the entire jade table into powder.

The cultivation she displayed had already reached the Fusion Realm. She wasn’t any weaker than Gai Hong.

Bao Yuanqing spoke softly, ”Please calm your anger. I have dispatched a large number of people to search for the whereabouts of the Demoness Yu. As soon as there is news, I will have someone suppress and bring her to see you immediately.”

”And that Fang Chen, if it weren’t for his interference, she would have already perished. How could she have taken the Vast Origin Fruit and vanished without a trace?” Yu Qingmei fumed. ”I want his life too. Can you do that?”

Bao Yuanqing was taken aback for a moment before a bitter smile appeared on his face. ”Fang Chen’s status is special. It’s not difficult to take his life, but if he dies in the capital, I’m afraid neither of us will escape responsibility, and it might even implicate the manor. The Yongan Patrol… is not to be trifled with.”

”No need to take action in the capital. Since Princess Pingxian expressed herself so clearly today, she certainly won’t help me anymore.”

Yu Qingmei snorted coldly. ”Hmph, the master of Jade Tower is also wary of that Fang Chen. It’s truly laughable.”

She glanced at Bao Yuanqing and ordered, ”You go to the Morning Star Dao Sect and find Daoist Dongxu. This person is cunning and can kill without a trace. Let him deal with Fang Chen. After all, this kid has ties to the Three Thousand Dao Sects and is an enemy of the Morning Star Dao Sect.

”As long as Daoist Dongxu can handle him, our manor will fully support him as the leader of the Morning Star Dao Sect in the future.”

Bao Yuanqing nodded lightly. ”Alright.”

Satisfied, Yu Qingmei changed the subject. ”Wu’er has probably already set off with his brother and sister, right?”

”Yes, he should be back at the manor soon.”

”Good. When Wu’er returns to the manor, he can start refining his Nascent Soul. Once he achieves the Nascent Soul, he can go to that immortal ruin. If he obtains that item…” she snickered, ”the one who takes over the manor in the future may not necessarily be Gai Hong.”

With a smile, Yu Qingmei dismissed Bao Yuanqing. ”I’m tired. You may leave now.”

Bao Yuanqing cupped his hands and turned to leave. ”I will take my leave first.”

Fang Chen furrowed his brow. ”Wu Gai has returned to the Manor?”

That would make it difficult to seize the opportunity. For him to sneak into the manor and kill Gai Wu would be as absurd as a fairy tale.

Having obtained the information he wanted and knowing Yu Qingmei’s next plan, Fang Chen intended to leave. However, unexpectedly, Yu Qingmei took out a Heaven Profound Mirror and asked, ”Brother, have you seen Fang Chen?”
