Immortal of the Nine Realms

In a small courtyard in the Spirit Void City.

Fang Chen’s divine soul stood in the void, watching Xia Xuanji talk with the Grand Elder.

”I have investigated. Two thousand miles south of the Spirit Void City, there is a tribe of mortals, with about a million people. They have recently been in a conflict with another tribe. The latter has hired a 12th Qi Refining Realm cultivator. Now that this cultivator has made an appearance, it’ll be difficult for that conflict to escalate, which isn’t something I’d like to see,” said Xia Xuanji lightly. “I hope you can go there and show your face so that these tribes will fight to the death.”

The Grand Elder was surprised. He was no fool; doing such a thing would incur too much karma on himself. ”Brother Xia, although I promised to help you, what you’re asking me to do will bring about many casualties and inflict me with karma. If I do this, how will I continue to cultivate from now on?”

”Karma? Once you join our Spirit Blood Sect, you no longer need to fear karma. We are walking down the path of defying the Heavens. Your typical cultivators are already on the path of evil. They fear karma, so they tolerate the lives of so many ants,” he said. “These ants steal our spiritual energy and plunder our resources, indirectly making the path of cultivation even more difficult. But we, disciples of the Spirit Blood Sect, are different. What we do is turn these ants into resources for us to use. This way, we can reduce the loss of spiritual energy in the world and promote ourselves through Blood Spirit Pills. As for the ‘Three Calamities and Nine Tribulations,’ heh... why even bother to fear them when you’ll never reach the realm where you’ll encounter them.”

Fang Chen was astonished to hear this come out of Xia Xuanji’s mouth. The way he spoke of such terrible things... it was so casual. He seemed to genuinely believe that he was one of the righteous.

If anything, it only showed how he had been deeply ingrained with the beliefs and principles of the Spirit Blood Sect.

“You won’t be working for nothing. The Spirit Blood Sect has always been generous to those who contribute to its cause. As long as you complete this task, I will apply for a Foundation Building Pill for you.

”When you reach the Foundation Building Realm, you’ll come to understand how fruitful working for the Spirit Blood Sect is,” said Xia Xuanji. “You know that I haven’t been cultivating for long—for very short, even—but look at me; I am already at the mid-stage Foundation Building Realm!”

Xia Xuanji smiled. ”All of this is thanks to the Blood Spirit Pill, which further proves that the Spirit Blood Sect is on the right path. The Ancestor of the Spirit Blood Sect is also working hard to establish a good reputation for our sect in realms beyond your imagination! Sooner or later, the Spirit Blood Sect will no longer need to act covertly and can tread openly in the world!”

Fang Chen was surprised, and incredulity flashed in his eyes. The Spirit Blood Sect was actually so powerful. They might actually have an Ancestor-level expert at their helm.

Supreme Immortal Pudu had said that no one in the world had managed to ascend and become an Immortal for ten thousand years. Those who had failed to ascend took another path and became Loose Immortals!

Loose Immortals, known as Ancestor-level existences, controlled the fortune of a sect. These people truly stood at the pinnacle of the world!

Fang Chen had locked eyes with that Immortal Fairy for a moment and he was blinded, so he had always suspected that she was an Ancestor-level figure herself.

If the Spirit Blood Sect had similar existences at that power scale, then its level of terror would’ve far exceeded how Fang Chen imagined it.

Since Spirit Blood Sect cultivators appeared in ninth-tier empires, then perhaps their influence permeated everywhere in the world!

For a moment, Fang Chen suddenly felt little. Would he really be able to match up to existences of such level with his current cultivation at the 11th stage of the Qi Refining Realm?

The Grand Elder gritted his teeth and said, ”Brother Xia, can you give me an idea of ??how strong the Spirit Blood Sect really is?”

A smug smile spread across Xia Xuanji’s face. ”You can find traces of the Spirit Blood Sect in even first-tier empires.”

The elder of the Spirit Void Sect immediately drew in a cold breath, then quickly said, ”I’ll do it! I hope you won’t disappoint me, Brother Xia!”

Xia Xuanji didn’t say anything, but the smile he had on his face clearly showed how satisfied he was.

Fang Chen couldn’t help but let out a laugh when he saw this scene.

It didn’t matter how strong the Spirit Blood Sect was, he only knew that there was scum in the world that needed to be killed one way or the other—scum such as Xia Xuanji!

He’d kill any piece of scum such as this any day of the week if need be!

If they were allowed to live, there would be countless innocent lives lost every day!

He believed in the extraordinary nature of Little Sword. As long as he continued to let Little Sword devour spiritual materials and treasures and continued to cultivate the Eight Desolation Supreme Sword Scripture, perhaps one day, when he could combine all seven forms to unleash the ultimate technique “Immortal Suppression,” he would be able to smash the Spirit Blood Sect and usher in an era of eternal peace!

”Oh, by the way, have you been sending people to keep tabs on that sword cultivator? What is he doing in the Ye Family?” Xia Xuanji suddenly asked.

The Grand Elder nodded. ”Our disciples have been secretly watching him. I’ve heard that the swordsman instructed the three major families to buy him many spiritual materials. He seems to be preparing to refine something.”

At that point, a hint of jealousy flashed in the Grand Elder’s eyes. ”Not only does he possess the inheritance of a sword cultivator, but he also knows artifact refining.”

The Grand Elder suddenly looked at Xia Xuanji. ”Let’s find a way to kill him and seize his inheritance!”

Xia Xuanji pondered for a moment, then said, ”He can even slay someone at the late-stage Foundation Building Realm; I can’t beat him right now.”

The Grand Elder’s lips revealed a sinister twist. ”Since the Spirit Blood Sect is so powerful, you should be able to call upon even stronger experts, right?”

Glancing at him, Xia Xuanji’s mouth tilted upward slightly. ”Yeah, how can you be so sure that whoever will help us won’t kill us and take the inheritance for themselves?

The Grand Elder fell silent immediately.

He had forgotten that Xia Xuanji was from the Spirit Blood Sect, a sect whose disciples were madmen, just like any sword cultivator. If there were enough benefits to propel them, they naturally wouldn’t hesitate to kill their sectmates.

”There is a way to kill him, but it will need you to have your disciple come back,” said Xia Xuanji pensively.

he Grand Elder grew confused but curious. “What? How will that help?”

Fang Chen pricked up his ear in curiosity too.

”Your disciple is at the Foundation Building Realm. Let her kowtow all the way from the city gate to the entrance of the Ye Family. Then, invite that sword cultivator to drink a cup of tea as a form of sincere apology. I will put some Netherworld Ghost Worms in the tea, which will seal off his cultivation for three days after he drinks it. This way, we will buy ourselves enough time to kill him,” explained Xia Xuanji with a faint smile.

The Grand Elder wasn’t so sure. ”What if he doesn’t drink it?”

”If we make a big enough scene and everyone attends, he won’t be able to maintain his reputation if he refuses. We’re dealing with a sword cultivator here. They are all proud fellows, all they care about is their reputation,” said Xia Xuanji with a devious smile.

The Grand Elder couldn’t help but give a thumbs up. ”Brilliant! Brother Xia is truly brilliant! Even if he doesn’t drink the tea, he won’t be out for my disciple anymore! This way, we’ll have another helper!”

Hearing this, Fang Chen knew that Xia Xuanji wouldn’t leave Spirit Void City any time soon. He didn’t have to listen anymore, so his divine soul quickly returned to his body.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he felt his sword body stirring restlessly, but he soon realized that it wasn’t his sword body that was stirring, but Little Sword!

Suddenly, Abbess Qing He’s voice came from outside. ”Lord Fang, someone said that the spiritual materials you requested have arrived. Please go and receive them.”
