Immortal of the Nine Realms

The man in gray robes was none other than Li Daoye, who said he was leaving a few days ago. Abbess Qinghe looked at him in astonishment and asked, “Why are you still here?”

”After thinking it through, I felt uneasy leaving you here alone. You came to Grand Xia with me, after all. If you were to die here, what would I say to your master? Therefore, I’ve decided to stay and fight alongside you,” Li Daoye declared with determination.

Then, he glanced at the people around him, but refrained from mentioning the Spirit Blood Sect. Some things were better left unspoken, especially to ordinary people.

Fang Cangyou was dumbfounded. He turned to the guards beside him. ”Did you guys let him in?”

Hearing that, the guards’ faces turned red with shame.

Fang Chen smiled, glanced at Li Daoye, and explained to his uncle, ”Second uncle, this person’s skills are extraordinary. Ordinary people can’t stop him.” He then addressed Li Daoye, ”Fellow Daoist, do you recognize the origin of this weapon?”

Li Daoye nodded. ”Of course! This was made from Moon Sinking Gold; a superior material used to craft treasures.” He glanced at the dragon truncheon. “Can’t you feel it? This is a valuable treasure with at least twelve Soul Imprints! It’s a bit of a pity that even ordinary cultivators can’t use weapons forged from Moon Sinking Gold, since it doesn’t solely rely on spiritual energy; one must also have a powerful divine soul to be able to use it.” As he explained, a thought flashed through his mind, but he then turned downcast, and a sigh of regret escaped his mouth. He couldn’t use it even if he stole it....

Even a Qi Refining cultivator at the twelfth stage wouldn’t be able to use it if their divine soul didn’t meet the requirements.

”Brother Fang, I suggest you sell it. This weapon is very valuable,” Li Daoye said to Fang Chen with a wink. By ”valuable,” he naturally meant spirit stones wise.

Goddess Xiao’s eyes flickered slightly as she fixed her gaze on Li Daoye. She then glanced at Abbess Qinghe, and her expression gradually turned strange. ”Treasure... spiritual energy...” she murmured.

Fang Chen approached the dragon truncheon, seemingly about to pick it up. ”It would be a waste to sell such a good weapon.”

Seeing this, Li Daoye waved his hand. ”Brother Fang, even though I admire your cultivation level, you won’t be able to pick it up. There’s a legend that Moon Sinking Gold is produced by an empire called the Moon Sinking Empire. The cultivators of this empire are supposedly born with powerful divine souls, making them the only people who can wield weapons forged from Moon Sinking Gold.”

By the time he said that, Fang Chen had already grasped the dragon truncheon and began slowly lifting it up. It wasn’t as heavy as he had imagined. It even felt a little more comfortable than other, more ordinary weapons he used before.

Seeing him lift the dragon truncheon easily, Li Daoye was dumbfounded, and a look of disbelief appeared all over his face. What’s happening? This treasure clearly contains massive amounts of Moon Sinking Gold, yet he was able to lift it effortlessly?

This could only mean that Fang Chen’s divine soul had far surpassed his imagination. And since the strength of one’s divine soul corresponds to one’s cultivation, then his cultivation level must be...

“Divine General Fang is indeed the number one expert in Grand Xia!” Li Maocai admitted with admiration. Indeed, that weapon was tailor-made for Fang Chen! Only he could wield it!

Off to the side, Huang Sihai and others didn’t seem surprised. In their view, Fang Chen’s cultivation methods had long surpassed their imagination, so it wasn’t surprising that he could pick up that weapon.

Fang Cangyou chuckled. “Fang Chen is indeed strong. What did this person say about his strength just now? Who’s he trying to deceive?”

Hearing Fang Cangyou’s jeering remarks, Li Daoye’s face began turning red. Seeing that Abbess Qing He was also looking at him, he couldn’t help but explain himself, “I was just speaking casually. If one’s strength is sufficient, they can certainly pick up a weapon made from Moon Sinking Gold. Obviously, Brother Fang is such a person.”

No one paid attention to him but instead looked at the dragon truncheon in Fang Chen’s hands. As Fang Chen imbued it with his spiritual energy, a series of Soul Imprints gradually lit up. In total, there were twelve Soul Imprints, and it looked extremely mystical.

A faint smile appeared on Fang Chen’s face. This spirit treasure has been without a master for a long time. There are no traces of the previous owner’s imprint. This would save him a couple days of effort; he could immediately start refining it.

Li Daoye’s eyes brightened, and he suggested, ”Brother Fang, why not test its power?” He seemed curious about the power of a spirit treasure with twelve Soul Imprints.

”Not here. If I test it here, I might demolish the entire Fang Manor. You and Qinghe can come with me to the mountains.”

”Brother, I want to go too!” blurted Fang Zhixue.

”No. Stay at home and behave yourself.” Fang Chen refused immediately. He didn’t want to expose Fang Zhixue to the cultivation world at such an early age. If there was a chance in the future, he would find a suitable cultivation method for her to cultivate. Due to the rules of the sect, he was unable to pass the Introduction to the Three Thousand Daos to others. As for the Spirit Blood Codex, it was a demonic cultivation method. He couldn’t teach her that, either.

An hour later.

On a desolate mountain on the southern outskirts of the capital.

Xie Ma, Xu Ge, Huang Sihai, Li Daoye and Qing He stood behind Fang Chen, who was standing in front of a giant rock.

The giant rock was over thirty meters high and resembled a small mountain. They were like tiny ants in comparison to the huge rock.

Fang Chen lifted the dragon truncehon in his hand, hesitated for a moment, then lightly tapped the giant rock with it.

—Terrifying spiritual energy erupted!

His spiritual energy reserves decreased by thirty to forty percent, then the dragon truncheon absorbed the spiritual energy and multiplied it numerous times!

When the dragon truncheon touched the mountain, it collapsed in its entirety into tiny sediments that scattered in the air and disappeared with the wind. It didn’t so much as make a single sound!

Hiss

Tie Ma and Xu Ge sucked in a mouthful of air.

”Wow!” Huang Sihai exclaimed.

”Woah...” Qing He was amazed.

”???” Li Daoye was shocked

Everyone was dumbfounded, even Li Daoye and Qing He, who were cultivators, were shocked by what they saw.

With just a gentle tap, a small mountain disintegrated directly? What kind of terrifying power was that? If it did that to a mountain, what would it do if it fell on an actual person!

”It’s too terrifying. Truly a treasure with twelve Soul Imprints. With such power, it might even threaten Foundation Establishment cultivators. What a pity, what a pity. How come I have not encountered such good fortune before....” Li Daoye’s face was full of unwillingness, but he also understood that even if he had that weapon for himself, he wouldn’t be able to use it anyway.

”With this treasure, perhaps Divine General Fang will be able to deal with the cultivators from the Spirit Blood Sect in Grand Xia more easily.” Qinghe said excitedly as she glared at Li Daoye. “This is a good thing.”

”Yes, yes, yes.” Li Daoye nodded absent-mindedly. The Spirit Blood Sect? It would just be better not to get involved with them entirely! If a treasure intended for Qi Refining experts had such terrifying power, how much more powerful would the treasures possessed by Foundation Establishment and even Golden Core cultivators be? They might even have the power to burn the sky and boil the sea!

”Congratulations on obtaining this treasure, my lord!” Huang Sihai said, clasping his fists together. ”How many people do you think you’ll be able to kill with just a swing of that weapon in the middle of the battlefield? I doubt anyone will dare to cause trouble for us in Grand Xia from now on!”

Tie Ma and Xu Ge also revealed joyful expressions. The stronger Fang Chen becamer, the happier they were.

”This weapon is a treasure indeed, but it’s too much for me now,” Fang Chen muttered softly to himself. He was well aware that his cultivation wasn’t high enough for him to use it repeatedly. It could only be treated as a trump card for now. He would only be able to use it comfortably once he reached the sixth or maybe the seventh level of Qi Refining Realm.

With that thought, he stored the dragon truncheon into his storage ring. Fortunately, the storage ring had no concept of time nor weight, making it easy to store the dragon truncheon.
