Martial Saint with Passives

You Honglang was shocked. ”That’s the Secret Treasure passed down through the You Family... They truly haven’t given up their wicked ambitions!”

You Longji waved his hand, his tone firm. ”It matters not. The innocent have nothing to hide. For decades, our You Family has abided by the law and never overstepped our bounds. Besides, after so many years, our foundation is not as fragile as they imagine. This negotiation led by the Three Great Sects is a perfect opportunity. I can explain everything to them face-to-face and put an end to this old grudge once and for all.”

You Honglang looked at his father, his eyes still filled with worry. ”But, Father...”

You Longji cut him off. ”Rest assured, reason is on our side. The Three Great Sects aren’t completely unreasonable. As long as the evidence is conclusive and proves the Shadow Prison Sect framed us, they won’t let the Demon Sect stir up trouble.”

...

「A few days later, in a clearing in the woods outside Cangzhou Prefecture City.」

The representatives of the Three Great Sects met with You Longji here.

The Cangyun Sect’s representative was Vice Sect Leader Xie Songnian. He had a gaunt face and sharp eyes.

The representatives from the Taiyuan Sect and the Profound Sound Sect were two senior Elders with solemn expressions.

You Longji came alone to show his sincerity.

He looked at the three representatives calmly and said in a deep voice, ”Vice Sect Leader Xie, Elders. I, You Longji, have come today to clarify one thing: My You Family ancestor did indeed come from the Sinful Desire Sect, but that was an old affair from sixty years ago. Starting with my father’s generation, the You Family left the Demon Sect, turned over a new leaf, and for decades, we have abided by the laws of Great Chu, kept to ourselves, and never again committed any evil deeds! The recent turmoil is all the work of the Shadow Prison Sect, who are imitating the Sinful Desire Sect’s methods to frame us and incite conflict. I ask the three of you to see the truth!”

Xie Songnian, his face expressionless, took a step forward and glared at You Longji. ”You Longji, you admit with your own mouth that your ancestor came from the Sinful Desire Sect, yet you still dare to claim you have no connection to the Demon Sect?”

You Longji was taken aback and hurriedly explained, ”Vice Sect Leader Xie, we left, and that’s that. In all these decades, has my You Family committed a single evil act? The Government Office records can prove it! We...”

”Remnant of the Demon Sect, speaking with a silver tongue!” Xie Songnian gave him no chance to explain, suddenly bellowing, ”You still dare to argue? Die!”

Before his voice had even faded, the aura around Xie Songnian exploded forth. Holding nothing back, he struck out with a palm aimed directly at You Longji’s face. The palm strike was fierce and vicious, carrying an immense amount of True Power!

You Longji’s face paled in alarm. He dodged clumsily, shocked and enraged. ”Xie Songnian! You! My You Family has been law-abiding for decades, as everyone in Cangzhou can attest! Why would you try to kill me without distinguishing right from wrong?! There must be something strange about this!”

The representatives from the other two sects also showed hesitation. The Elder from the Taiyuan Sect spoke up, ”Vice Sect Leader Xie, isn’t this... a bit too hasty? Perhaps we should hear what evidence he has...”

”Evidence?!” Xie Songnian’s assault didn’t lessen in the slightest. Instead, it grew even more ferocious, with every strike aimed at a vital point. His voice was bone-chillingly cold. ”Demon Sect members are masters of deception! Every word we let him speak adds to the danger! Don’t let him bewitch you!”

Although You Longji was also a True Master, he was outmatched for two reasons. First, he was only at the Third Layer of the True Master Realm, a Realm far below Xie Songnian’s Fifth Layer.

Second, he had been caught off guard and lost the initiative, leaving him completely suppressed and in constant peril!

A cold glint flashed in Xie Songnian’s eyes. Spotting an opening, he gathered all the True Power in his body into his palm without reservation and roared, ”Demon Subduer!”

A Palm Seal, condensed to the extreme and terrifyingly powerful, shot from his hand, fast as lightning, and slammed solidly into You Longji’s chest!

THUMP!

You Longji violently spat out a large mouthful of blood. His eyes went wide, filled with disbelief and indignation!

At the same time, his body flew backward like a kite with a broken string. He crashed heavily to the ground, twitched twice, and then fell silent forever!

The You Family Patriarch, You Longji, was dead!
