Chapter 6702: Admitting His Wrongdoings

“I was wrong,” Dongfang Hansong said in a deep, hoarse voice. He sounded regretful.

Xiahou Jue scoffed in contempt. “It’s too late. You can’t escape execution now.”

He glared at Dongfang Hansong with cold eyes. If not for his weakened state, he would have killed Dongfang Hansong there and then. He didn’t waver in the least just because Dongfang Hansong apologized.

Dongfang Hansong didn’t bother explaining. He grabbed Xiahou Jue and left the palace. He headed away from where Chu Feng was held captive and instead made his way to one of the Netherworld Sect’s forbidden lands.

It was a palace constructed out of treasures. Dongfang Hansong’s aides guarded the place.

“How are you feeling, milord? Did the new faction do this?”

Dongfang Hansong’s aides looked at the weakened Dongfang Hansong, followed by the soul entity Xiahou Jue, and they instinctively thought that Baili Xukong had assaulted him.

“I’m fine.” Dongfang Hansong waved his hand as he kicked the door open.

In the palace lay the six neutral elders. They had lost their cultivation and were in an extremely weakened state, but they remained conscious.

Fury blazed in their eyes when they saw Dongfang Hansong. They wanted to curse at him, but they widened their eyes in astonishment when they saw him grabbing Xiahou Jue. It led them to think that a conflict had broken out between the conservative faction and the new faction.

Dongfang Hansong’s aides, oblivious to the truth, entered the palace.

The last one to enter even tactfully closed the door, sensing that whatever that was going to happen next had to be kept confidential.

Dongfang Hansong walked up to the six neutral elders and kneeled before them. He took out the treasure fused with the Netherworld Master’s aura.

“That is...”

The eyes of everyone present lit up. It was a familiar aura.

“Milords, Hansong has deceived you. Lord Netherworld Master is Chu Feng’s grandfather, which means that Chu Feng... is our Netherworld Sect’s young master.”

That revelation shocked the six neutral elders. Even when Dongfang Hansong stole their cultivation, they had never doubted him of lying to them on this matter.

Dongfang Hansong’s aides also felt as if they had been struck by lightning. They stood completely dumbstruck on the spot.

“I was selfish. I wanted my son, Chen Hui, to become the Netherworld Master. To conceal the truth, I killed Lord Yun Ao, who accompanied me on my journey,” Dongfang Hansong said.

His aides widened their eyes in disbelief. They hadn’t known about these matters, but they completely shattered their faith and loyalty toward Dongfang Hansong.

“I foolishly put myself above the sect. I thought I had to pave Chen Hui’s path at any cost, even if it meant betraying Lord Netherworld Master.” Dongfang Hansong shook his head bitterly. “To think that I followed Lord Netherworld Master to war, but my loyalty to the Netherworld Sect still pales in comparison to Hui’er.”

Dongfang Hansong sensed murderous auras flaring from behind. His aides had drawn their weapons and directed their killing intent toward him.

“Lord Dongfang Hansong, are you speaking the truth?” a middle-aged woman coldly asked.

Her cultivation was on par with Dongfang Hansong. She was one of Dongfang Hansong’s most trusted aides. Yet, she looked at him with a murderous gaze.

Dongfang Hansong ignored his aides and continued facing the six neutral elders.

“Milords, the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion has constructed a sealing formation that is siphoning away the energy of our young master’s Netherworld Embryo. I wanted Chen Hui to devour that energy, but he refused upon learning the truth and even set off to report the matter to Baili Xukong under Xiahou Jue’s protection.

“Parents are bound to prioritize their children. Even I have turned my back on the sect for Chen Hui’s sake; I fear that Baili Xukong will pick his son over loyalty,” Dongfang Hansong said.

“Pui! You’re the despicable one here. Don’t drag Lord Baili down with you!” Xiahou Jue scoffed.

“Sometimes, people struggle to even know themselves. Xiahou Jue, how can you be sure that you truly understand Baili Xukong?” Dongfang Hansong asked.

“Dongfang Hansong, what are you getting at?” Cang Li asked.

“Lord Cang Li, I know that I have done wrong. I just want to make up for my mistake now. However, I am no match for Baili Xukong in my wounded state. That’s why I implore you to make a move to ensure our young master’s safety,” Dongfang Hansong said.

The weakened Lie Shan, by some unknown bout of strength, leaped to his feet.

“Screw you, Dongfang Hansong! You and Baili Xukong stole our cultivation, and you still want us to help you right now?!” Lie Shan was truly infuriated. He wanted to slap Baili Xukong, but he was so weak that he crumbled to the floor barely after taking two steps.

Just then, Dongfang Hansong took out a blood-red pill.

The six neutral elders, Dongfang Hansong’s aides, and Xiahou Jue were taken aback.

The blood-red pill resembled a Netherworld Embryo. All Netherworld Sectmembers knew what the pill was.

Dongfang Hansong swallowed the pill. A blood-red aura flared from his body. It was nowhere as intense as when Xiahou Jue activated the secret skill, but they were similar in nature.

He stood up, turned to his aides, and clasped his fist at them. “Thank you for following me for so many years. I apologize for letting you down. However, this matter concerns our young master’s safety. I implore you to help me one last time, so that I can return the six lords’ cultivation.”

He turned around, faced the six neutral elders, and sat down.

He formed a hand seal, and blood immediately flowed from his eyes, nostrils, ears, and mouth, and his body began disintegrating. His hair turned gray, and his skin corroded into blood. It was as if he was undergoing an excruciating torture.

Just looking at his current state was enough to make anyone squirm.

But Dongfang Hansong gritted his teeth and held on. He was channeling six surges of blood-red martial power toward the six neutral elders.

Xiahou Jue couldn’t believe his eyes. The six neutral elders were in disbelief as well.

Dongfang Hansong was sacrificing his life to return the cultivation of the six neutral elders!

“Get into formation!”

Dongfang Hansong’s aides quickly channeled the power of their Netherworld Embryos to aid Dongfang Hansong.

Half of the six neutral elders’ cultivation was currently with Dongfang Hansong. This power was only enough to raise Dongfang Hansong’s fighting prowess, but the situation would be different if it was returned to the six neutral elders.

The combined prowess of the six neutral elders, even in weakened states, was more than enough to curb Baili Xukong.
