Chapter 6470: Love Oneself Before Loving Others

By the time the young man’s family realized what had happened, the old man from the Netherworld Sect had already crumbled to the ground in pain, with his head under Chu Feng’s foot. Fresh blood gushed from the bloody gorge in his abdomen.

“This...”

The young man’s family was so shocked that they fell speechless. They could never have expected that the amicable guest they had hosted would be even more frightening than the old man from the Netherworld Sect.

It was not just about Chu Feng’s overwhelming strength but also how he hadn’t batted his eyelid after crippling the old man from the Netherworld Sect, a sign he had much blood on his hands.

“I don’t know who you are, but I’m a Netherworld General from the Netherworld Sect. Our Lord Netherworld Marshalls have already returned from their closed-door training, and their strength surpasses our wildest imagination. It’s only a matter of time before our sect conquers the world of cultivation. Are you certain you want to defy us?”

The old man from the Netherworld Sect understood that he had provoked someone beyond his means, so he name-dropped the Netherworld Sect in hopes of intimidating Chu Feng.

“Aren’t I already an enemy of your Netherworld Sect?”

Bzzt!

Lightning crackled around Chu Feng. He was able to easily defeat the old man because he had secretly raised his cultivation in advance, but he was finally revealing it now. His Lightning Mark, Lightning Armor, and Lightning Wings appeared. He towered in the sky like a lightning god.

Everyone in the courtyard, including Shi Mo in the sky, stared at Chu Feng’s face in shock.

While unleashing his nine-colored lightning, Chu Feng removed his disguise and revealed his true face as well.

“H-h-he is actually...”

The young man’s family thought they were seeing things. In particular, the young man’s big brother’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. They thought they were seeing a deity in person.

“Y-you are Chu Feng?” the old man from the Netherworld Sect asked with a quivering voice.

He had once met Chu Feng in the Netherworld Sect and was aware of the latter’s means. If the other party was truly Chu Feng, he was doomed. He could only curse his bad luck.

Shoosh!

Just then, the sealing formation around the city unraveled.

Upon seeing that the other party was Chu Feng, and that even the Netherworld General was no match for him, Shi Mo turned tail and fled.

Chu Feng raised his hand. A powerful suction force pulled Shi Mo down, causing him to crash into the courtyard.

Shi Mo quickly got to his knees and crawled his way up to Chu Feng, saying, “Chu Feng... Misunderstanding! Yes, this is a misunderstanding. I am a member of the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion, but that old man held me hostage!”

He took out a token and presented it to Chu Feng. It was the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion’s token.

Before Chu Feng could say a word, the old man roared, “How dare you, Shi Mo! Relinquishing your identity as a Netherworld Sectmember just so you can live? You deserve to die a thousand times over!”

“Shut up, shut up! I am from the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion. I have nothing to do with the Netherworld Sect. Wang Qiang is from the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion. Isn’t he your brother? Y-you can’t kill me!” Shi Mo said with tears and snot flowing down his face.

He was afraid of death.

Chu Feng took the token and examined it. Not only was it authentic, but it was also inscribed with Shi Mo’s name. “I see that the Netherworld Sect has infiltrated the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion.”

Chu Feng raised his hand and exerted a suction force, dragging both Shi Mo and the old man into the formation realm in his palm. Then, he rose into the sky.

“Chu Feng... That’s Chu Feng!”

“Look, it’s Lord Chu Feng!”

“Is Lord Chu Feng here to save us?”

“We’re saved!”

The crowd immediately knew why the excruciating pain had stopped. Chu Feng must have saved them. While there were many rumors about Chu Feng, very few of them were negative. This led them to think that he was a righteous person.

Besides, Chu Feng had a prior conflict with the Netherworld Sect, so it was unlikely for him to turn a blind eye to their misdeeds.

“The Netherworld Sect has planted a toxin in you. You’ll need to channel my formation to expel the toxin,” Chu Feng said as he took out a formation and sucked the entire city into it.

He made his way to a remote area before pulling the entire city out of his formation and placing it there.

“Lord Chu Feng, thank you for saving our lives.”

Everyone in the city dropped to their knees and thanked Chu Feng. The latter had expelled the bizarre aura in their bodies, saving their lives.

“I advise you to leave this city and head elsewhere,” Chu Feng said.

This was all he would do for them. Whatever they did next was none of his business. He took his leave and made his way to the young man’s courtyard.

The young man’s family was kneeling as well, just like the others.

With a wave of his sleeves, Chu Feng pulled them up to their feet and infused them with a peculiar surge of energy. That energy lengthened the grandfather’s lifespan, cured the father’s illness, and raised their cultivation. On top of that, it reforged their bloodline, allowing them to reach greater heights in their cultivation.

Sensing the changes in their bodies, the family was moved to tears.

Chu Feng raised his hand and channeled his spirit power. A scroll manifested in his grasp. He handed the scroll to the young man, saying, “This protective means will work.”

The young man took the scroll, but he was so overwhelmed by the situation that he couldn’t even string a sentence to voice his gratitude. He felt like he was in a dream.

Instead, it was his big brother who replied in an excited but cautious tone, “A-am I dreaming? Are you really Lord Chu Feng?”

“Yes, it’s me. I shouldn’t have to change my name anymore, right?” Chu Feng chuckled.

“N-no, of course not. You’re the Chu Feng. There’s no need for you to change your name. My gosh. I-I-I received pointers from Lord Chu Feng himself. No wonder I grasped such a powerful martial skill so quickly!”

The young man’s big brother was moved to tears. The young man’s parents were so overwhelmed that they couldn’t find the right words to say.

The young man finally snapped out of his daze. Clutching onto Chu Feng’s scroll, his lips curled into a silly-looking smile.

“Kindness begets kindness. The saying holds true!” the young man’s grandfather cried with a smile. He felt like he was finally reaping the rewards from his many years of sacrifice.

“Elder, that’s not necessarily so,” Chu Feng said.

The young man’s grandfather stiffened up.

Chu Feng turned to the young man and offered his advice. “Don’t expect kindness to beget kindness. You can show kindness to those in need, but you need to exercise your judgment and decide who is worth helping. Above all, you ought to take care of yourself. You need to love yourself before loving others.”

He pulled out a Cosmos Sack and handed it to the young man.

“This is my payment for your flower tea. Take good care of your family. Don’t let the tragedy that befell your grandfather happen again.”

With that, Chu Feng took his leave.

The young man and his family opened the Cosmos Sack and were flabbergasted. It contained everything they could think of—martial skills, profound skills, talisman papers, formations, and cultivation resources. It was a treasure they had never seen before.

These might be nothing to Chu Feng, but it was an unimaginable fortune to them.
