Martial God Asura

Chu Feng was convinced of his conjecture that rank five Heavenly God level wasn’t the other party’s limit; it was the limit he had capped on himself to test them.

“Looks like you have made up your minds. Everyone has staked their lives on you juniors, but are you sure you’re up to par?” the black monstrous beast asked.

“Please guide us along, elder,” Chu Feng said with a bow.

The black monstrous beast smirked.

The ground around Chu Feng suddenly shattered. Chains gushed forth from the earth and enveloped Chu Feng like a bird cage. Spirit power seeped from the chains, sealing off even the space between the chains.

“Big brother!” Little Fishy whipped out her God Armament to slash the cage.

Clang!

Sparks flew. Little Fishy was forced back, but the chains remained undamaged.

Song Yun, Xian Miaomiao, Wang Qiang, and the others employed their means, but they were to no avail.

“Don’t worry about me.”

Chu Feng raised his hand, gesturing for Little Fishy and the others not to attack blindly. He noticed that the chain cage couldn’t be unraveled, even with their rank five Heavenly God level cultivation.

Little Fishy and the others also noticed the same. After confirming that Chu Feng was imprisoned but unharmed, they refrained from making any more reckless moves. It was even more so at times like this that they had to tread carefully in order to help Chu Feng.

So, they waited for the black monstrous beast to reveal his will.

They noticed the black monstrous beast was holding a normal incense stick. He planted it into the ground, lit it with a snap of his finger, and stood back up.

“Elder, what does that mean?” Chu Feng asked with a respectful tone.

“All of you will die if you don’t defeat me before the incense stick outside burns out. The incense stick in here only dictates his fate. If you aren’t able to defeat me before this incense stick burns out, he’ll die,” the black monstrous beast said while pointing to Chu Feng.

“What do you want?” Little Fishy asked with murderous eyes.

“Yes, that’s the kind of eyes I want to see. Show me how far you are willing to go for Chu Feng,” the black monstrous beast said.

“All of us are willing to lay down our lives for big brother Chu Feng,” Bai Yunqing said as he charged at the black monstrous beast.

Pu!

But he suddenly froze in mid-air and spurted blood.

It turned out that the black monstrous beast had thrust his palm forth to impale Bai Yunqing, but what was shocking was how fast the black monstrous beast was. None of them could follow his movements.

Little Fishy and the others were horrified.

What happened next further stoked their unease.

The black monstrous beast casually waved the hand that had impaled Bai Yunqing’s neck. Blood splattered. Bai Yunqing’s head dropped to the ground, and the black monstrous beast stepped on it.

“Is that all you have?” the black monstrous beast sneered.

He coldly raised his foot to stomp down on Bai Yunqing’s head, but before he could complete the motion, he suddenly got into a defensive posture. His reaction was timely as a kick flew at him right after.

The new king had made a move!

The new king’s kick was so powerful that it pushed the black monstrous beast several steps back. He didn’t continue the assault, opting instead to remain in position to protect Bai Yunqing. “You aren’t dead yet, right?”

Bai Yunqing formed a hand seal. His fallen head returned to his neck and sealed itself back in place, leaving not even an injury or scar behind. However, his complexion remained pale from sheer fright.

“I-I am fine,” Bai Yunqing replied with a quivering voice. His body was trembling as well.

He had lost his fighting will. That momentary clash was enough for him to conclude that the black monstrous beast was not an opponent he could hope to surmount.

“Stay back,” the new king said.

Right after saying those words, the new king hurriedly dodged.

The black monstrous beast has thrust his dagger-like palm at the new king’s neck. Despite the new king’s attempt to dodge, the black monstrous beast changed his attack trajectory, and the attack eventually still pierced the new king’s neck.

Dang!

There was no splatter of blood. On the contrary, a loud metallic clang echoed.

The new king was sent flying, but he wasn’t decapitated like Bai Yunqing. He was even able to flip in mid-air to adjust his position. When he finally landed on the ground, the sheer momentum sent him skidding a long distance before he regained his balance.

That said, he still escaped unscathed from the black monstrous beast’s assault despite being struck in the neck.

Taking a closer look, the new king was shrouded in a black aura and clothed in a newly-grown armor that covered his whole body, including his face. Only his eyes were exposed.

“You’re a sturdy one, but a hard shell won’t be enough to defeat me,” the black monstrous beast chuckled.

Boom!

A gigantic fireball resembling a comet descended from the sky, unleashing an inferno the moment it crashed onto the ground. The surroundings transformed into a sea of flames.

It was Yuwen Yanri’s martial skill.

But Yuwen Yanri’s face warped in astonishment. He couldn’t sense the black monstrous beast anywhere in the sea of flames. The latter had dodged the attack!

Shoosh!

The black monstrous beast suddenly appeared behind Yuwen Yanri.

“Ambushing me? You aren’t the only one capable of that,” the black monstrous beast sneered as his palm impaled Yuwen Yanri’s neck.

What happened next made the black monstrous beast narrow his eyes.

It was not fresh blood but flames that gushed out from Yuwen Yanri’s neck.

Whoosh!

Fire chains shot out from Yuwen Yanri’s body and bound the black monstrous beast. At the same time, flame circles also appeared beneath the black monstrous beast’s feet.

Yuwen Yanri’s voice echoed from the distance, “Rank three God Taboo Fire Prison Hell!”

Boom!

It was as if the ground beneath the black monstrous beast had transformed into a volcanic crater. Raging flames poured out from the ground, but instead of flowing out, they converged into a gigantic cage.

As the cage thickened, it started to feel impenetrable.

“N-n-not bad, Yanri. To think you’d master this martial skill!” Wang Qiang complimented.

As a fellow member of the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion, he understood the ingenuity of the rank three God Taboo Fire Prison Hell.

First and foremost, it was nigh impossible to distinguish the clone from the real entity, unless one possessed exceptional discernment. Should the enemy strike the clone, the clone would immediately unleash fire chains to bind them in place before manifesting the cage.

Anyone trapped in the cage was doomed to be burned to death.

Wang Qiang’s smile suddenly froze in place.

“You resort to an underhanded measure despite possessing the Blazing Sun Divine Body. You’re a disgrace,” the black monstrous beast spoke with a resonant voice from the fire cage as if unfazed by it.
