Ladies like you usually bring good fortune to their relatives and companions, so this time, Mr.

Faraday has decided to forgive Viscount Melbourne.”

“Oh, my God!”

Mrs.

Copper clasped her hands over her chest, “Mr.

Hastings, I heard from William that Scotland Yard is important enough to be worth half the Home Office.

At that time, I didn’t believe it, but now it seems that all he said was true.

I really don’t know how to thank you on behalf of William, look at the good he’s done, if it weren’t for your help, Mr.

Faraday would certainly not have calmed down so quickly.”

Arthur spoke with a smile, “Madame, it’s nothing serious, just a simple task.

However, Mr.

Faraday also said that his forgiveness of the Viscount comes with a condition.

He demands that the Viscount must make a sincere apology to him.”

Knowing her brother was in a quagmire, Mrs.

Copper agreed without a second thought, “This is only proper.

Even if you hadn’t mentioned it, I would have had William apologize to Mr.

Faraday.

He can be casual in Parliament meetings, but he absolutely cannot treat a person of such high esteem and excellence in such a manner, whether it’s toward Mr.

Faraday or toward you.”

Arthur had been pondering how to approach Viscount Melbourne about the apology, but when Mrs.

Copper volunteered, he naturally had no reason to refuse.

Arthur doffed his hat once again and said, “Madame, your respect for science is unprecedented.

I will report all that you’ve done for Mr.

Faraday to her.

Now, I shall not detain you any further, we shall talk more when we meet again.”

Upon hearing this, Mrs.

Copper reached out her hand toward Arthur, who instinctively was about to stretch out his bandaged right hand to receive it.

Agares leaned against the tree trunk, yawned, and reminded him, “Wrong!”

Startled, Arthur trembled, swiftly switched to his left hand to take Mrs.

Copper’s hand and lightly kissed it, then bid farewell and turned to leave.

Fortunately, the other party did not realize the true nature of this minor incident.

Mrs.

Copper simply watched Arthur’s retreating figure with relief, and finally, she lifted her fan, covered her mouth, and laughed.

“Just a simple hand-kissing, and yet, he’s shy, such young men are truly rare nowadays.

Handsome, talented with splendid eloquence, not a noble but with the manners of the Nobility.

He’s a researcher of science but with the witty attitude of a poet.

Such a pity, if he had a distinguished father, even just a baron, I would definitely recommend him for next year’s Queen Charlotte’s ball, to meet those just-of-age young ladies from noble families, truly such a waste…”

Arthur turned the corner of the walkway, leaned against the wall, and took a deep breath.

In just one week’s time, he had already performed in so many stage plays, probably more than London’s most popular actors.

He pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket to wipe the sweat and was just thinking of taking a break when, before he could even catch his breath, he caught sight of his friends gathered around the window of a small building not far ahead.

Great Dumas and others were peering inside, shouting in amazement.

“Oh, my God!”

“Is that Mr.

Wheatstone?

Can I hardly recognize him anymore?”

“Is this Charles Wheatstone?

If you cover his face and tell me he’s Eld Carter, I’d believe it!”

The apprentices of the Royal Society were all sweating profusely, shouting toward the inside of the window, “Stop it, please!

Mr.

Wheatstone, stop electrifying, we won’t come in!”

Arthur approached the window, looked inside for a glance, and although it was just a glance, the visual impact was incomparable, a sight he had never seen before.

The electric light illuminated Arthur’s face, lighting up his features hidden in the shadow of his hat.

Arthur fell silent for a moment and finally spoke to Wheatstone inside the room, “Charles, listen to my advice, you can do whatever you want, but just don’t generate electricity here.”
