The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 928: Chapter 349: Progress 4/5, Zhou Wang’s Therapy

”Above standard... especially Jiang Qingkui.”

Qi Jiayi commented objectively.

”But I’m completely clean with them, absolutely didn’t cross the line... If you don’t believe me, should I swear, or should I call them to verify right in front of you?”

”...Okay, I believe you.”

After looking at Zhou Wang for a few seconds and seeing that he wasn’t acting, Qi Jiayi finally nodded.

”And to take a step back, Jiayi, you know your situation. Maybe you control it well now, but can you guarantee that you’ll never lose control?”

Zhou Wang smiled faintly, ”Everyone says it’s lonely at the top, you’re quite high up now, aren’t you? If you’re not careful and fall down, can you bear the consequences?”

Qi Jiayi became silent.

Because Zhou Wang had touched her sore spot.

She definitely loved this profession, but only she knew how she lived on thin ice every day as a Senior Partner at the Red Circle Law Firm...

If she were to become Zhou Wang’s personal lawyer, she wouldn’t have to leave this circle, and the risks would be significantly reduced. It seemed like a win-win.

”But I seem to have told you, I’m very expensive.”

Qi Jiayi suddenly smiled.

From waking up until now, Qi Jiayi showed a smile for the first time, giving Zhou Wang a sigh of relief.

He knew, for Qi Jiayi, at this point, last night’s events had finally been forgotten, and she probably wouldn’t pursue it further.

Which made sense, considering Qi Jiayi herself was over thirty and not some overly sensitive young girl.

”How expensive can you be?”

Zhou Wang feigned disdain and said.

”My current annual income is roughly between 650,000 and 800,000 US Dollars.”

After Qi Jiayi said this, she stared at Zhou Wang, seemingly wanting to see his reaction.

Zhou Wang quickly calculated in his head, in RMB, that’s about 4.5 million to 5.5 million. For a Senior Partner at a Red Circle Law Firm like Qi Jiayi, this is a relatively normal income.

”Double.”

Zhou Wang didn’t even blink and just uttered two words.

...Double?

Qi Jiayi was momentarily stunned.

In her mind, she was still thinking that being a personal lawyer for Zhou Wang shouldn’t allow her to maintain her original income. She mentioned this just to see what offer Zhou Wang would give her.

She didn’t need the whole amount, she could accept 70% to 80% of her original income.

Even for a billionaire at his age where money isn’t as substantial, spending several million a year on a lawyer was already quite extravagant.

In the worst case, even half of her original income was her lowest acceptable bottom line.

But she never thought Zhou Wang would start off with ”double.”

Zhou Wang indeed didn’t care, as long as the system footed the bill. As long as Qi Jiayi was worth the money, the system would tacitly approve of the salary he set.

Just as she was about to ask if Zhou Wang misspoke, Zhou Wang nonchalantly continued:

”Besides ensuring your base salary is covered in principle, all the necessary bonuses, benefits, and even accompanying provisions like cars and housing, I’ll standardize for you, ensuring your annual income on the current basis will at minimum double.”

”In addition, I also promise that you can form your own legal team at any time; the necessary assistants, drivers, etc., are all under your complete control. This can all be written into the contract; even our personnel contract can be drafted by you personally.”

Hearing Zhou Wang’s sincere words, Qi Jiayi didn’t know what to say for a moment.

In her heart, she seemed to want to subconsciously make things difficult for Zhou Wang again, but didn’t know from which angle to approach.

”Any problems now?”

”Well, no...”

”Then it’s settled, I’ll inform Qingkui to come sign the contract with you when I get back. Remember to quickly sort out the Yunshangyun matters...”

”Wait, wait a minute!”

Qi Jiayi instinctively resisted, ”Isn’t this too hasty? And I’m worried Yunshangyun might not let me go.”

”You don’t need to worry about that, I’ll take care of it!”

Zhou Wang said resolutely.

Only then did Qi Jiayi remember Zhou Wang’s special status at the Yunshangyun Law Firm, leaving her speechless again.

”Then Jiayi, I wish us a happy cooperation.”

Facing Zhou Wang’s outstretched hand, Qi Jiayi shook it with him somewhat muddle-headedly.

Inside, she still felt it was too fast, like a girl who just started a relationship feeling uncertain, but the problem was she seemed unable to back out now...

At the same time, seeing Qi Jiayi’s adorably bewildered look, the normally cold and stern features of Zhou Wang softened, and having finally won over Qi Jiayi, he couldn’t resist hugging her and planting a kiss.

Although the kiss was only on the cheek, it still infuriated Qi Jiayi. She hurriedly pushed Zhou Wang away and regained her cold demeanor:

”Mr. Zhou, please show some respect. Even after last night, it doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want with me!”

”Sorry, sorry, I got a bit carried away in the moment.”

Zhou Wang waved it off, not caring much, as he could still easily discern whether a woman was truly angry or just pretending.

When Qi Jiayi didn’t want to speak, Zhou Wang had an idea pop into his mind and pulled Qi Jiayi to sit down again.

”Jiayi, actually I have a small suggestion regarding your psychological issues, do you want to hear it?”

”What suggestion?”

Qi Jiayi was a bit surprised, not expecting Zhou Wang would actually want to help her with her illness.

”Although I’m not a psychologist, I believe many principles in life are interconnected.”

Zhou Wang said earnestly, ”For instance, with your condition, from the time you became aware of it to the time you started treatment, quite a while must have passed by now, right?”

Qi Jiayi nodded, ”It’s been a long time.”

”But if I’m not mistaken, there hasn’t been much improvement, right?”

Zhou Wang said, ”Of course, it’s partly because this kind of condition isn’t easily cured, but I think on the other hand, it’s also because you’re always on edge, with not enough time to calmly confront your condition.”

”Indeed, my work is inherently busy, most of the time I’m thinking of ways to conceal my condition, and I can’t get treatment in the country, only being able to sneak abroad for a few days each year, which doesn’t really help much...”

Qi Jiayi frowned tightly; what Zhou Wang said indeed touched on what was on her mind.

”So I’ve been thinking, if you come to work with me in the future, you actually won’t have to be so tense anymore. If you face your condition with a more positive attitude, it might be beneficial to you.”

Zhou Wang rubbed his chin and said, ”There’s a saying ’A soft approach is better than a blockage’, you’ve probably heard it. Based on this theory, I’ve been thinking, perhaps you should develop a special therapy tailored to yourself.”

”Special therapy?”

Qi Jiayi looked slightly confused.

”It’s quite simple, all the personalities you’ve split into are, in fact, parts of your character that are lacking. Take your Fifth Personality for example; she’s just another extreme of your cold nature. Neither you nor she is actually normal.”

Zhou Wang said earnestly, ”So if you were to balance the two of you, as the cold side slowly becomes a normal woman, wouldn’t ’she’ naturally disappear? At that point, not only will your condition be healed, but you can also return to normal...”

”That... makes some sense.”

Qi Jiayi pondered for a moment and slowly nodded.

Actually, Zhou Wang wasn’t talking nonsense. She’d heard similar theories from her doctor before, but due to various real-life constraints, she couldn’t really put them into practice.

”But the issue is... how do I balance them?”

At this point, Qi Jiayi raised a new question.

”Relax your body and mind and embrace the things you’ve rejected before. As I said, ’A soft approach is better than a blockage.’”

”Can you be more specific?”

Seeing Zhou Wang’s serious expression, Qi Jiayi still couldn’t quite grasp it.

Zhou Wang felt a bit helpless at the sight, did he have to spell it out so clearly?

Thinking it over, Zhou Wang beckoned Qi Jiayi closer, and after she leaned in, he whispered something in her ear.

Upon hearing it, Qi Jiayi’s eyes widened instantly.

Her black and white pupils stared blankly at Zhou Wang. For a moment, she even doubted if she’d heard wrong, and then repeated it uncertainly:

”...So your so-called special therapy is to cure me by continuously *ing me?”

”Ahem, no need to put it so bluntly. My aim isn’t that primal...”

Zhou Wang didn’t expect Qi Jiayi to be so blunt, and after nearly choking on the water he was drinking, he quickly corrected her.

”Is there a difference!”

Qi Jiayi looked at Zhou Wang incredulously, her chest heaving with anger.

If she hadn’t heard Zhou Wang say it himself, she could hardly believe—

That there could be someone so shameless in this world!
