The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 469: Chapter 208 Let Him Scram_6

”Rich guy entering the industry with funds.”

That was Lin Dantong’s initial assessment. In this day and age, there were plenty of accounts crafting a wealthy persona, and it was hard to say if Zhou Wang was pursuing that route.

Of course, these were merely Lin Dantong’s own speculations, but either way, she definitely wouldn’t underestimate Zhou Wang.

”Just joined the company and already dared to offend Mr. Zhang, do you have some backing too?”

Beside her, someone asked in a seemingly joking manner.

Zhou Wang turned his head; he couldn’t tell which one of the Qian sisters, likely either Qian Yu or Qian Xun, spoke. Although they were smiling, the tone left him extremely uncomfortable.

”I offended Mr. Zhang?”

Zhou Wang asked in surprise.

”You and Hua Suisui snatched his red carpet show; in the industry, that’s a ’mortal enemy,’ didn’t you know?”

It should have been Qian Xun speaking, who said with a grin, ”Suisui heard someone protected you, you better be careful!”

”Mister, you’re quite naive, Hua Suisui might truly have some backing, but if you’re following her lead, then you’re a fool!”

At this moment, Miss Xiao Cheng chuckled and hinted, ”On top of that, you’re really bad at handling people, huh...”

Although Mr. Zhang’s outburst occurred not long ago, it had already spread through various internal groups, and everyone present was generally aware of the situation.

”No worries, don’t listen to their nonsense, Mr. Zhang is just prone to emotional swings, but he’s actually reasonable. I’ll help explain to him...”

At this point, Lin Dantong comforted Zhou Wang.

”Thanks, you’re much easier to get along with than I imagined.”

Finding it rather interesting, Zhou Wang smiled and nodded at Lin Dantong.

”Speak of the devil, Zhou Wang, look who’s coming!”

At that moment, one couldn’t tell if it was Qian Yu or Qian Xun who exaggeratedly called out.

Actually, Zhou Wang had already noticed a group of people walking over from a side passage leading from the backstage to the VIP seats.

At the front, with a somewhat unpleasant expression, was indeed Mr. Zhang, followed by managers, assistants, and another well-dressed middle-aged man with some demeanor.

The other side hadn’t seen Zhou Wang before, but Zhou Wang had seen his profile and immediately recognized him as Zheng Shifeng, the planning department’s deputy general manager, with whom he’d unwittingly interacted.

During the walkover, Zheng Shifeng kept saying something to Mr. Zhang, but Mr. Zhang had a dismissive attitude.

Soon, the group approached, initially just passing by since Mr. Zhang’s seat was also in the front rows. However, Mr. Zhang’s manager glanced and, upon spotting Zhou Wang, paused, quickly stepping forward to say something to Mr. Zhang and Zheng Shifeng.

Mr. Zhang stopped, glanced in Zhou Wang’s direction, then turned his head. But Zheng Shifeng chatted with Mr. Zhang briefly before sharply heading over.

”Mr. Zheng...”

”Hello, Mr. Zheng!”

The performers stood up to greet him, with Lin Dantong nodding politely.

Zheng Shifeng merely smiled in response to Lin Dantong and, upon reaching Zhou Wang, his expression turned stern again.

”You’re the newly signed artist, right? Who’s your manager?”

Zheng Shifeng asked Zhou Wang aggressively, feeling quite displeased since Zhou Wang hadn’t proactively greeted him...

Zhou Wang wasn’t too sure if people in higher positions truly emitted a ”presence,” but he only noticed Zheng Shifeng’s arrogance.

”Mr. Zheng, you’ll find out soon enough.”

Already having been set for inspection, Zhou Wang condemned Zheng Shifeng to ”death” with a meaningful smile.

”Why the mystery? I’m asking, whose advice was it for you and Hua Suisui to walk the red carpet together? Do you know what that implies?”

Zheng Shifeng frowned, but his tone remained restrained, as Zhou Wang’s apparent fearlessness left him puzzled.

”I felt like walking, so why would I need someone’s advice?”

With a ”bitchy aura” in full swing, Zhou Wang casually asked.

”You...” Frustrated, Zheng Shifeng took a deep breath and said, ”I won’t address other issues now, but go apologize to Mr. Zhang quickly—he’s very angry, you know?”

”It was his own fault for missing the red carpet, why should anyone apologize to him? I actually think he owes the company an apology, and also his fans.”

Zhou Wang seriously suggested.

”Are you... alright?”

Zheng Shifeng barely adjusted from saying, ”Are you out of your mind?” to something more civilized, speaking in a low, restrained tone, ”Do you know Mr. Zhang is already inclined to refuse to perform? His act is the closing number; if something goes wrong, not only you but I can’t take responsibility either!”

”That’s simple!”

Zhou Wang didn’t lower his voice; instead, he laughed and said, ”If he doesn’t want to perform, then... just let him scram.”

”What did you say? Who should scram?!”

Zheng Shifeng was still processing when Mr. Zhang, previously leaning against the wall in the corridor, had already heard Zhou Wang’s words. He immediately exploded and stormed over, furious.
