System Anomaly: The Sin of Greed[LitRPG/Prog Fem/Anti-Hero]

The black granite gate of the Skeleton King’s Catacombs (Level 22-25) rose like a monumental gateway to the halls of death in the Second Circle.

Diana handed two silver coins at the guild entry counter to secure the high-level expedition license for the Arcane Greed Faction.

[DUNGEON LICENSE PAYMENT]

- Skeleton King’s Catacombs Permit: -2 Silver Coins (200 Bronze).

[TEMPORARY POCKET BALANCE: 61 SILVER COINS (6,100 Bronze)]

”We came to test the new Level 25+ Dragon gear.” Diana declared, adjusting the bracers on her Dragon Crystal Chestplate. ”No hesitation. Total clearance all the way to the King’s throne.”

Diana activated both [Aura of Arcane Domain] and [Commander’s Loot] simultaneously.

The silver-blue light and black-gold runes expanded from Diana’s body in a 15-meter radius, boosting Aurelia-Elysia’s Magic Damage, granting movement speed to Rhea and Kael, and increasing the party’s loot drop rate by +30%.

Kael took two steps forward, driving his Volcanic Steel Shield into the ground. The black metal layered with dragon scales flared with an overwhelming reddish heat.

The Vanguard and Shadows Power Test

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

The first engagement in the main hall was an overwhelming display of power.

A legion of twenty Iron Bone Lords (Level 23) and ten Death Knights (Level 24) emerged from the granite tombs.

Three Level 24 Death Knights landed heavy greatsword swings simultaneously against Kael’s chest.

BOOM!

The impact of the three giant blades collided with Kael’s new Heavy Dragon Armor.

The volcanic steel’s passive reflected 20% of the direct physical damage back at the attackers in a burst of flame, and Kael’s health bar, anchored by 400 HP POINTS, barely budged a single millimeter!

Kael grinned steadfastly from behind his black iron helm. ”Is that all you bastards have, you trash skeletons?!”

Aurelia-Elysia raised her Mana Crystal Staff.

With her cast time cut by -40% by her new Dragon Robe, her [Protection Barrier] projected a giant magic dome over Kael in less than a second, while her automatic mana shield absorbed any archer projectiles fired from the back of the room.

Rhea turned into a silvery phantom.

PHANTOM STEP!

With Agility 59, Rhea moved at a speed so absurd she seemed to be in three places at once. Her new Dragon Silk and Shadow Daggers, with +30% stealth critical damage, sliced through the Death Knights’ vertebrae like toothpicks.

CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRITICAL DAMAGE: 340!

Meanwhile, Diana dominated the dungeon’s ceiling and floor.

With Intelligence 70, the power of her spells boosted by her chestplate’s Magic Damage +15% was crushing. She fired an [Arcane Storm Orb] that stunned ten skeletons all at once, followed by [Greed’s Flame] that devoured the MP and bone structures of the enemy legion.

The first Level 24 hall was completely destroyed in under twenty minutes.

The Battle Against the Skeleton King (Level 25)

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

The catacombs’ throne chamber was a colossal hall of black granite covered in tattered tapestries and flames of blue soulfire.

On the stone throne rose the Crypt Skeleton King (Level 25 - Dungeon Boss). He stood four meters tall, wearing plates of black-gold armor and holding a four-meter broadsword dripping unholy energy.

[FINAL BOSS DETECTED!]

[Crypt Skeleton King - Level 25]

HP: 850 / 850 | Main Stat: Unholy Damage / Soul Strike

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

The Level 25 King bellowed, raising his giant sword and delivering an unholy energy slash that cut through the chamber air.

”KAEL, TAUNT!” Diana ordered.

Kael slammed his shield onto the stone floor. IRON TAUNT + UNSHAKEABLE STANCE! The unholy spell crashed against Kael’s volcanic shield, but his mountain of 400 HP and Aurelia-Elysia’s giant barrier absorbed the blow without the vanguard faltering.

Diana activated her Intelligence 70 [Command Eye].

Her tactical magic vision highlighted the blue soul gem glowing deep inside the Skeleton King’s thorax.

”RHEA, SHADOW COVER! LYRA, TRIPLE BARRIER!”

Diana used [Arcane Teleportation], blinking 8 meters to the left, and fired [Mana Prison] straight at the Skeleton King.

Beams of arcane chains bound the Level 25 Boss’s body, sealing his unholy spells for 4 full seconds!

”NOW!”

Rhea used [Phantom Step] with Agility 59, leaped onto the Skeleton King’s shoulders, and drove her dragon daggers into the monster’s spine.

Diana channeled all her dragon chestplate-boosted MP into her right hand.

GREED’S FLAME + DOUBLE ARCANE ARROW!

The black flames and arcane blast collided straight into the soul gem in the Skeleton King’s chest.

BOOM!

The explosion shattered the Level 25 Boss’s black-gold frame from the inside out. The Skeleton King collapsed into dust and bones on the throne room floor.

[FULL FINANCIAL AUDIT]

Previous Balance: 63 Silver Coins.

Dungeon License: -2 Silver Coins.

Subtotal: 61 Silver Coins.

Complete Dungeon Loot (+30% Bonus): +22 Silver Coins.

[NEW ABSOLUTE NET WORTH: 83 SILVER COINS (8,300 Bronze! / 8.3 GOLD COINS!)]

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Eighty-three silver coins stashed in the faction vault. Over eight and a half gold coins.

Diana at Level 24 with Intelligence 81 and 420 MP.

Rhea at Level 22 with Agility 65. Kael at Level 21 with 460 HP. Aurelia-Elysia with 380 MP.

Diana sat on the Skeleton King’s black granite throne, surveying the cleared hall.

Around the throne, Kael tested his new 460 HP with a proud laugh, Aurelia-Elysia counted her 380 mana with her silverwood staff, and Rhea rested beside Diana, adjusting her Agility 65 dragon daggers.

There were no repetitive summaries in Diana’s mind.

There was only the raw certainty that Level 25 was a single step away. The Crossing Test for the Third Circle of Hell’s portal awaited the Arcane Greed Faction. And Diana was ready to march.

Final Notes:

People are starting to get strong, starting... for the Second Circle, of course. Now for the rest... that’s another question.
